What You Can Expect

Island-Hopping Day Tour by Speedboat from Krabi

Chicken Island

If you’re short on time but want to visit some of the most gorgeous places in the Andaman Sea, this tour takes you directly to the highlights from your Krabi city hotel. Start with morning pickup and transfer to Nopparat Thara pier, where you board the speedboat.

Zip over to Phra Nang beach, which is inaccessible to cars but only a 15-minute ride by speedboat. At the end of the beach, your guide shows you a small cave with a shrine. Legend says that an Indian princess was shipwrecked there in the 3rd century BC. Local fishermen make offerings to this spirit for good fortune and protection on the seas.

After you see the cave and its remarkable offerings, enjoy some free time for a swim or walk before reboarding your boat for the short trip to the next spot, Tub Island. Using provided snorkel gear, you can enjoy good snorkeling opportunities from the beach. At low tide, you can walk across a strip of white sand to the adjacent island.

Next up, hop on over to Chicken Island, which has a limestone rock profile that resembles its bird namesake. Your guide leads a snorkeling expedition at Chicken Island, with a colorful variety of fish and other marine creatures flitting about the warm waters.

Your final stop takes you to Koh Poda, which features views of a stunning rock island and long white beaches to explore. Snack on the light box lunch provided by your guide, then have some time to swim or sunbathe before returning to the mainland.

At the pier, your transfer vehicle meets you to return you to your hotel in the early afternoon.

4 star rating: Recommended March 2015

The trip did not start out the best as the tour company forgot to pick us up, however good on the hotel to call the company and good on the company to race back to get us. Other than that the tour was great. Great guide and everyone was helpful. I would recommend this tour.

3 star rating: Worth doing February 2015

The scenery is gorgeous, so every other tourist in the area is there too. Not only was every location we went to super crowded, but we were rushed from place to place. You might want to consider hiring a private long-tail boat to take you to Poda and Chicken islands instead. I think it will be less crowded later in the day or when it's not high season.

1 star rating: I do not recommend this February 2015

Completely misleading information given, I booked this tour for myself and my wife because of the following information given on the VIATOR website:

"Numbers are limited to 14 to ensure a small-group experience with your friendly local guide."

When we turned up for the tour there was DOUBLE that, 28 people which caused problems for getting on and off the boat and reduced time on each island because of the management in dealing with a large group of people all the time.

The tour was clearly about bums on seats, the larger the numbers, the more money made, regardless of the experience and possible recommendations.

Local guide was not very good, not much knowledge and not clear speaking...

VERY BAD TOUR, BE WARNED ABOUT HIGHER NUMBERS OF PEOPLE THAN PROMOTED, SORT IT OUT VIATOR !
