Perfect trip - Starting from the comfortable travel coach to the river boats - the food on the floating village, all were just simply too good.: Very relaxing trip and well managed. The guide was simply cheerful and helpful all throught. Only bad part was the kayaking guys asking for 100baht as a tip, before they drop you back to the floating pierthese guys are not affiliated to the tour company, hence can't complain. James bond island usually is very crowded. The monkey temple was very peaceful. All together a must, if you staying at krabi:
Exhilarating trip by speed boat. Lovely islands. Canoeing under the rocks was so exiting. The tour was well organized. We were picked up on time at our hotel. The tour guide was extremely friendly. Highly recommend it.
Awesome experience in visiting the Island, and very nice lunch at a decent restaurant. When most of the tourists in the group were canoeing, we could get a good chance to go sightseeing on the boat around. Besides, the monkey cave is also interesting, too. On the whole, it worth for the price.
well-organized, magnificent scenery, wonderful tour guide
This tour was amazing and well organized. The people were great, knowledgeable, friendly, and spoke English. The scenery and the tour itself was spectacular .
Tour was good and informative, albeit a bit of a journey from Krabi, mostly by car 2 hours. The boat ride to the island itself was only 30 minutes. JBI was not what I imagined: very small and super crowded with vendors. But I got to check off a travel item and despite the crowds I got good, unobstructed photos. The tour itself was fine, lunch was great and plentiful. We got drenched on the boat, the water was a bit rough but it was sunny and hot that day so it wasn't a big deal. Recommended.
Itinerary does not mention clearly whether canoeing is included or excluded. The canoeing is a must do however. Tour guide was asking me to pay the National park entrance fee, even though it was included in the trip fare. He had to check with the tour company to confirm. Overall, could do with some better co-ordination.
The trip was very interesting, great sights especially the floating village. It was rather eventful though. The boat broke down in the open sea, replacement one was requested, which arrived half an hour later. The boat was smaller, so became overloaded. We were not allowed to take buoyancy aids from the original one, but the new one did not have any. Ah well, at least those were safe, not like the rest of us. Also kayak trip was fun and informative but was spoiled by the kayak guide, who demanded a tip before we land. We said we will let him have the tip once we are off the kayak, as we left our belongings on shore, but he was not happy to let us get off before he got his tip. It was rather unpleasant. We booked the trip through Viator, as we thought it may be safer than local agency but it turned out not to be any better. We could have saved ourselves some money and book at the cheaper place on the high street.
james bond island looked more like a trinket island, the land area covered by sand is less than the land area covered by stalls selling trinkets and tourist-y souvenirs. canoeing? with hundreds of tourists and the paid canoe-ers asking for tips for bringing you on vip routes? nah..
the only redemption was the lunch. lunch was great. you rarely go wrong finding good food in thailand to begin with.
