What You Can Expect

Krabi Sunset Cruises

Come sail away with us

Depart from a central location in Ao Nang or Railay for a 6-hour sunset cruise around the stunning coastline of Krabi. Prepare to wade in shallow water to board a long-tail boat, which transports you to a century-old Thai wooden junk.

You'll make your way to five islands near Railay: Koh Poda, Koh Gai, Koh Si, Ko Yawasam, and Ta Ming. Stop for snorkeling, swimming, kayaking, or paddleboarding, or simply relax on the teak deck and take in the views. You can do as much or as little as you like.

Fruit and snacks are served along with free-flowing water, juice, and soft drinks. Sip a cocktail or beer from the bar on board to accompany your provided Thai buffet dinner (vegetarian options are available).

Finish the day by sailing back toward the Railay Peninsula while watching the sun set over the Andaman Sea. After dark you can swim in the bioluminescent waters next to Pranang Beach. Afterward, you're delivered back to shore with drop-off at the starting point.

This was one of my favorite trips during the entire tour. I highly recommend this tour if you like snorkeling. You get to try 2 types of boats for the price of one. You take a long tail boat to the Junk. You can jump off the top of the roof into the water. The ocean is extremely salty. It was amazing to see the phytoplancton and how they glowed when startled at night. They offered snacks throughout the day. Once the sun began to set, they offered a good Thai buffet. You could take out a paddle board if you chose. You could also use their lifejackets and snorkeling supplies. The crew was friendly. You can buy their t-shirts and alcohol is provided if you want to purchase it. I would do this tour again if I had the chance.

Would definitely recommend it! I am 31 years old and I can’t swim, but the crew was very patient and lovely, they helped me all the time so I could snorkel and see the fishes. Charlotte and Michael were loads of fun! Wanted to thank all the crew for such a fantastic time!

Such a great tour/trip. It brought together a mixing pot of cultures onto one boat. There were 25 people on the cruise and all mixed well and all enjoyed ourselves.
FIrst, we boarded a long boat to take us to the junk for the cruise to begin. The cruise stopped close to several islands including chicken Island to snorkel, swim, canoe and paddle board. The crew were fantastic ensuring all persons were safe in the water which included crew in the water on life boays, and a crew member on top of the roof as a spotter. The crew also would escort you to the reef to see the coral and marine life. We could also jump off the roof of the boat into the water. Dinner was a thai buffet which was delicious. Fruit and snacks were also provided during the day. To finish off the day we went swimming in the dark to see the illuminated plankton. Great day and would certainly recomend it for all age s.

This was the best trip we have ever been on, everyone was amazing especially Carlotta, the staff couldn't do enough for us, it was a beautiful day, loved the boat, the crew, the scenery and the food, I'm not a great swimmer, but Carlotta pulled me around with a rubber ring, got to see amazing fish, can't say enough amazing things about a great day

I chose this cruise because I had been advised by friends that the motorboat tours that dropped you off at islands didn't really provide so unique an experience. Unique is certainly the word for the Sunset Cruise Tour. It was so beautiful and so relaxing. I was a solo traveller, retired and quite easily the oldest guest on board. I had such a good time with everyone. I did go in the water once but at the rest of the stops I stayed on-board and watched the fun. People used the kayaks, the paddle boards, snorkeled and swam. The thing I will always remember most from the cruise is the laughter. Carlotta and Michael were excellent hosts. Michael looked after everyone who was in the water and gave great directions on where to swim and how to get the best out of every stop. All the crew were fun, helpful and seemed to be enjoying their jobs, which added to the liveliness and great mood of the excursion. The boat itself was charming and comfortable with plenty of place to sit and to circulate and talk with other people. A highlight was the last stop when some people went into the water to see the plankton. It was magical to be on the water in the dark and see the distant lights. Of the 2 weeks I spent in Thailand, this cruise rates as one of the top 4 things I did. Thank you, Micheal, Carlotta and the rest of the crew for this experience.

Michael and the team offer a professionally run tour on a nice boat which makes for a great day out. It suits those who are happy to swim as each stop is boat based and even the one beach stop which is Poda island is best accessed by swimming. For those who are not confident or strong swimmers there are life vests to make floating easy and also some large rubber rings to make it easy just to focus on looking for fish. They are happy to pull children or less confident floaters along to the hot spots if desired. A 2 person kayak can shuttle non swimmers to the beach but it's not a long stay there. Dinner is provided as a buffet and all soft drinks included. Pay for alcohol at reasonable prices. Conclusion to the day is quick dip to see the plankton glow in the dark. Quite cool and worth the dip on the way back. It's 10 minute stop but if you have never done it then you should see it. Instructions on Viator into google maps actually takes you to the wrong meeting place so be aware. There are two places in Ao Nang with the same name and on different streets. They are about 300 meters from each other. The correct place is on the main road to the left of the beach road version as you look at it. So if you find yourself at the pickup name and you are overlooking the beach...keep walking to the main road nearby, turn right and walk up about 200m you will see another Inn. Wait in front near the sign. Actually...I don't know why they would not simply make the other Inn the pickup as its closer to where you have to walk back to get the long tail boat and you can wait and have a meal and or drink as you wait for tour. Much more civilised than standing on a roadside waiting for everyone getting thirsty.

Amazing! I went with my 11 year old and 70 year old parents. We all loved it. I will definitely go again. Only thing is the boat is rather packed.

Didn't know quite what to expect but my kids and I loved it - from the start to end it was pretty amazing. The owners and staff on board the Junk were kind gave clear instructions the food selection was good the chargeable drinks on board were reasonable and if you did not have money then because you did not know, there is always the option to pay later on land. You cannot choose the other passengers that come on board but as long as you accept people for who they are and respect each other regardless of color, race and religion - the adventure is pretty fantastic and memorable. Thank you Sunset Cruises
