Viator, thankyou!!We have nothing but praise for the professional organization of the tour. A special thanks goes to Sabina our tour guide. Her knowledge and passion for the awful task of telling us the chilling account was first class. Thankyou for letting us light our candles xx
Incredible tour, very emotional and informative. We had many moments of silence where we could pay our respects to the victims. Our tour guide was incredible! She did a phenomenal job giving us perspective and helping us understand the history. She was very inspiring. I highly recommend this tour.
It was a very early start to the day - 6:30 pick up - but well worth it. The tour itself, walking around the sobering site, listening to the history, viewing the photos, the living conditions for those who weren't summarily killed upon arrival was very sobering - I'm still processing it all. It's just one of those things one should experience, though. Efficiently organized. Highly recommended.
A very well organised small group tour. Minibus travel from hotel door. Excellent English speaking guide who was very knowledgeable and passionate. This made the tour all the more personal. Nice little packed lunch to keep us going after an early start.
Sturdy shoes required, approx 5 miles walkkng
Tour from start to finish ran like clockwork. Pick up on time from hotel in very comfortable transport. The weather in Auschwitz was heavy rain but we were given ponchos by the tour operator which was a lovely touch. The tour guide was excellent too.
This tour was amazing from start to finish. Weren't thrilled with the early start 6 am but found it was ideal as crowds and hotter weather increased as we were leaving. Wonderful information and the pride from Polish people in sharing the history is perfect.
We had an excellent tour guide. Perhaps all are this good but ours was indeed First Class. She merits 5 stars on her own. We have all read about what happened at these camps but until you go, the absolute enormity of it all does not hit home. At least it had not for us. What these people suffered at the hands of the Nazi's is beyond belief. This review though is not about their suffering etc. it is about the tour and our Viator experience. We had an airport pick up and a tour of the salt Mine also booked with Viator. Definitely 5 stars all round. We will be using Viator for lots of our future tours and trips. The service was faultless. Thank You.
Everyone should do this tour, I can't explain what it was like, you just have to be there....
Very well done and professional tour. I really appreciated the movie that was played prior to arrival at the camps as they really brought the issues to the forefront and showed you the scale of the atrocities. I highly recommend this tour. It is one of the earlier one that arrive at the camps so the crowds are still somewhat light.
The small group tour was excellent and very well organised. As you are one of the first into the camp the queues are pretty much non existent whereas we saw a lot of people queuing on the way out. This also helps with taking photos as there are not many of you to get a good photo each time and not many other people around compared to later in the day. All in all a very enjoyable experience I would recommend this tour and they catered for a Vegetarian. The tour guide assigned in Auschwitz was excellent.
This is a must see experience and Discover Cracow did a very good job of helping us understand the various aspects of Auschwitz I and Auschwitz II Birkenau. The tour guide was highly experienced and knowledgeable. We highly recommend this tour for everyone who wants to understand history that must never be forgotten.
Highly recommend taking this trip to fully understand the plight of the Jews in the war it really brings reality.
Well orchestrated tour with a fantastic guide who gave us great perspective while taken us through elements of the buildings and the exact locations where events occurred. She was factual but connected everyone and very knowledgeable. Picked us up at our hotel and back 6.5 hours later
A must do if you are in the area, we were at Krackow and travelled the hour or so by the coach. Our guide was excellent, as she was local and had family links to the holocaust.
Small group tour and worth every Zloty. Pick up from hotel very early 5.45am called said they would be 10 minutes late. Only 11 people in the tour and I was alone. Got Auschwitz around 7.30am big queues everywhere. Boards said gates ope at 7.30am but opened at 8.00am. We were second group in and split into 2 groups. Faustian our guide was SUPERB. Friendly and really knew her stuff. Auschwitz 1 was amazing and to see where Maximilian Kolbe died .....
For me the highlight of the tour was Birkenau. The selection platz ...... and the Walk of Death ....... amazing moment in my life thinking of the Hungarian Jews Summer 1944.
Lunch was fine combined two rolls into 1 very clever and good value.
Truly wonderful tour. Wish I had booked a longer tour just to Birkenau as it is so vast.
9.5 / 10 and Faustina a star
This small group tour was led by very knowledgeable people. Very nice and accommodating
This trip was well organised and the tour guide that took us around Auschwitz was great.
The tour was as anticipated. Pick up, at the Discover Krakow office, was prompt. The shuttle to and from Krakow to Auschwitz was clean and comfortable. The sack lunch served was adequate. The guide was very informative providing many unknown facts. There were no problems whatsoever. I am not one that usually takes guided group tours but I am very happy to have made this decision. Simply bypassing the ticket line to get in was worth the price itself. Everything else was a bonus. Great tour!!!
I realize this probably sounds a bit off but I really thing this tour changed my life in a way. As much as I thought I was prepared for everything I was still shocked and have thought about it constantly. It's truly something that those who have the fortitude to go, need to experience . The tour was extremely well done. Van right from our hotel. We had a small group of approximately 10 people. They drove us right to both memorials where our excellent tour guide met us. We skipped the lines in both places. Our tour guide was so knowledgeable. Highly recommended and thought provoking.
This tour is impossible to adequately describe - rather it is an experience. Wonderful to be able to experience the visit first hand. Guide was wonderful, so kind of her to share such things. I'm sorry but I don't know her name. Travel was fine. Food was satisfactory - just, but you don't go for the food. My advice is - go, experience it for yourself. Definitely value for money. The museums are lovingly maintained, tastefully presented.
Incredible tour! It was so well organised from the time we were picked up to drop off at hotel. The bus was new, clean and comfortable, the group small. Our guide and driver had excellent English skills and our guide in particular was so knowledgeable and showed sensitivity and respect in his information.
