Prior to our humbling visit we did not know which tour to choose , having scrolled through the reviews we settled on the small group tour . We were picked up at our hotel on time as stated by one of the company's reps who spoke perfect English and were soon on our way after two other pick ups . The mini van was spacious and the seats comfortable . On arrival we was shown were the toilets were and was then introduced to our guide , what a really nice chap . He explained the protocol to us , there was ten people in our group . We were lead through to the front of the rather large Kew and straight through security. We was then all issued with our audio reciveres and the first part of the tour in Auschwitz 1 began . The guide was very fantastic and informative leading us through the buildings and explaining there perpose , he was open to questions the whole time . After the first part of the tour we had chance for a drink and supplied lunch which was fine . After a short journey we arrived at Auschwitz Birkenau and the tour continued for about an hour and half . We were dropped off at our hotel after the tour . Highly recommend.
Everything about this tour was exceptional, from our driver to our tour guide. They both went out if their way to make this an interesting and unforgettable experience. I especially appreciated that it was a small group so that we could ask questions and take our time at places we wanted to linger.
It happened. Pay respect to the victims. Learn why and how it happened. Make sure it never happens again.
Very sad and emotional place but needs to be visited to show that people have not forgotten and to pay respects.
A truly haunting experience but a tour that everyone should do at least once in their life.
Our tour guide was very good. It was more than a job for her. She had real empathy for to subject matter.
This was a place that I had on my list of and #34;must do and #34;. The small group tour was well run and the guides friendly and knowledgeable. It was nice to have a bag lunch provided. The day was wet and cold so visiting in those conditions added to the impact that Auschwitz has. Very moving experience.
Extremely well organised and our Guide was very knowledgeable and we found this to be a very good tour Thanks
Although, due to our own lack of planning, we missed our original booking (small group tour), the local representative took care of us and allowed us to join a later tour. In addition, we were given the bag lunch that was part of original booking.
This is a tour everyone should take. Viator rocks!
A very Moving experience, one which we are very happy to have had the opportunity to take off our bucket list .
One and half hours from Krakow ,we arranged this tour in advance for the Saturday of the long weekend in September . The pick up was as scheduled for 7 am , and our English speaking guide was truly a prize. Her understanding of history and her storytelling ability took you back into the darkest places in these 2 awful camps , almost as if she was there in real time . There were 10 of us on this tour ,travelling 1 and half hours from Downtown Krakow. Enroute they showed a film which acted as the introduction of what was to come . We left,on time in a fatastic mini bus at 7 am, that was so smart as we arrived at Auschwitz as one of the very first groups to enter the grounds and allowed us to moved through all areas at a easy pace. Upon completion of this tour we had a break and a box lunch was served ........ prior to heading back to the mini bus to a short drive onto Birkenau............... Brutal............leaves you speechless learning of the tragic events that took place here on these massive grounds. Tremendous value , and worth the 7 hour tour once returned back to the centre of Krakow to our hotel ...............allowing for a wonderful afternoon evening to reflect on what we witnessed. It was well worth the weekend adventure from Toronto ,Canada.
interesting trip very well organized. Tour guide informative and very good with her description of the tragedy that happened there. Very early start at before 7 am but we arrived before the crowds with virtually no lines. We also had a local Auschwitz guide that seemed to take control and make sure our group was moved along speedily and to the front of the exhibits. This also allowed us to have more free time and the day moved by quickly with virtually no waiting. Well worth the extra for the small group tour.
While depressing because of what happened there it is a must see. Tour guide was excellant and very informative.
Although enjoy is not the right word to use in these circumstances, this was a very worthwhile trip. It was sobering to see up close what I'd read about. The trip was well organised. I would like to single out our guide Justyna who was knowledgeable and passionate about the subject.
very solemn, that's why I booked on the last day so it wouldn't make the trip melancholy. It has to be seen however, especially Birkenau. So Sad.
Guides and driver attentive, prompt and very respectful. Having the van transport us to the memorial was convenient and being part of the tour enabled us to enter the memorial site without waiting. The tour through auschwitz was solemn yet thorough and handled with grace.
Transportation was very right on time and comfortable, there was a video to watch on the way there, and it was nice to have a utilitarian lunch provided 2 thin sandwiches, an apple, water, and some biscuits. Someone really tall might have felt squashed in the van, however. Claudia was an excellent guide- she kept us moving but not too fast, I had plenty of time for photos and the bookshop at Auschwitz, and she was very informative and easy to understand. I really liked the time of day and smaller size of our group. The size of Birkenau was very thought-provoking I never realized it's true scope before. I think that everyone should visit a concentration camp at some point it's too important to disappear from memory. Warning- lots of walking, especially at Birkenau which is entirely outdoors. Dropped off right in front of my hostel. Only suggestion- could have used maybe 10 more minutes at the end of the Birkenau portion due to one set of restrooms being closed.
Great tour, being a small group made the experience feel more personalised. Transport to the sites was very comfortable mini van and the guide was amazing, she gave us the history behind both sites as we walked around, she was both very knowledgeable but also very personable. Would highly recommend.
Fantastic tour of a very sad place. Our guide was excellent explaining every area and buiding we went into.
This is a place everyone should see.
The tour was excellent! Our guide in the cc camp was name Isabela. She was very clear, took her time for us to see what was important, she responded all our questions and more. She cared about us leaving the camp with facts, history and real impressions. Pick up and drop off at hotel was flawless.
We really appreciated this tour. It was interesting and respectful. I am recommending it to all friends and family who have an interest in visiting Poland.
Well organised, with timely pick-ups and the guide who walked us round the two camps was amazing. She was very detailed and answered any questions we had. The day was very interesting but at the same time incredibly emotional but we would have no hesitation in recommending this tour. Excellent both in terms of content and value for money.
