Our tour to Auschwitz was cancelled due to coronavirus regulations and our tour manager was kind enough to provide us with a private tour to Ogrodzieniec Castle and Ojcow National park. He picked us up from our apartment, he was on time and he was really kind and gave us lots of information. The tour was very comfortable and we had a great time.

Auschwitz tour

Communication prior to the trip was excellent by way of confirming time and place for pickup. The pick up itself was on time with no problems. The drive to and from and around Auschwitz went extremely smoothly again with no problems at all. Both guide and driver were very polite and professional. Only one very slightly negative point is that we weren’t informed that bags bigger than A4 paper size were not allowed into Auschwitz until we were on the bus, not a problem for me as it was simply left on the transport but for others this might have been an issue and would maybe be worth knowing before travelling to Auschwitz. Over all a very well operated tour.

The tour was great. Nice comfortable charter bus. But there was some confusion. An email was sent when I booked stating time 1030 but ticket stated 0930. So I am glad we were only 5 minutes away from the meeting point.

It was a very well organized trip. We had to meet at a hotel nearby our hotel and they were precisely on time and very kind. The bus was comfortable. Our guide, Johanna, was great. She was so informative, accurate and very respectful. Her historian knowledge was very good. We had a impressive experience of an intense day. Thank you. We recommend poland travel.

Visit to Auschwitz.

This review is purely about our thoughts on the tour itself. Not Auschwitz concentration camp. My husband and I took this tour five days ago, during our stay in Kraków. We collected our mini bus at nine thirty outside “Hotel Wyspianski” the bus arrived promptly. The bus held about twenty and was very comfortable. Our guide was an extremely nice young man, very knowledgable and professional. The journey took about an hour and a quarter, with the guide talking about the history of Poland and the events leading up to the Holocaust. Upon arrival, we visited a pleasant coffee shop, which was naturally very crowded. You could buy food there and visit the toilet, you needed to be quick though, twenty minutes was the time given. Remember, it was very crowded. You also needed 2 pln to visit the toilet. That set the pattern for the day, everything was rushed. We met our Auschwitz guide and once more, a gentleman, very knowledgeable and professional. We were distributed with headphones, through which we could hear him clearly as he spoke. We began our tour of Auschwitz 1. We visited the excellent Auschwitz museum and would stand in front of displays as we listened to our guide. Then we moved on to the next display, then the next but had to keep up with what was now a fast pace in a very crowded museum. There were different groups literally everywhere. Keeping up was vital as you would lose your group. This for me was the issue. My husband is eighty six and walks without problem at all, though not as fast as he once did. Though by no means slow. He had to rush, more than was comfortable, or safe while I was trying not to lose our group, or my husband in all the utter confusion with the different groups. The other important factor here was the stone stairs, which were uneven and without a bannister. Everyone was rushing and it was in my opinion, very dangerous, as folk were more intent with keeping up, than the safety aspect. These uneven stone stairs were everywhere. Inside the museum and outside at the entrance. After our visit to Auschwitz 1, we had another break, then it was onto Auschwitz 11 - Birkenau - The ground here was equally dangerous and by now, we’d given up any idea of keeping up with our group. Inside one of the dreadful buildings we visited, it was almost dark, you could not see where you were walking, you should not have been rushing. Rushing though is what everyone was doing. Why so many people in one day? Where ever you stood you were surrounded by hoards of people. It was overcrowded and such a shame I thought, given the nature of the tour. Please take note of these very important points. None the less, we felt a visit to Auschwitz was a must and it was a privilege to pay our respects to the people who were exterminated here.
