Why Travelers Choose This Tour
This tour has skip-the-line tickets, and a long lunch break so you can pause and reflect between sites.
Be ready for morning pickup at your Krakow hotel, and drive to the Auschwitz-Birkenau Museum and Memorial, where more than an estimated one million Jews and other targeted populations were murdered during World War II. The former Nazi concentration and extermination camp is now preserved as a memento of Europe's darkest chapter.
Skip the entrance lines with a timed ticket, and connect with your guide for a tour of the camp including prisoner barracks, the unloading ramp, and ruins of a gas chamber and crematorium. Spend some time at Auschwitz I, the former SS administrative center, or at Auschwitz II-Birkenau, where most of the murders took place (depending on option selected). After this sobering visit, take a break for reflection and lunch (own expense).
In the afternoon, explore the mesmerizing underground world of the Wieliczka Salt Mine. Be prepared for a steep climb down several hundred steps as you descend into the tunnels and caverns of one of the world’s oldest salt mines. Admire sculptures carved out of salt rock and see mysterious saline lakes during your guided visit. Return to the surface via an elevator, and relax on the return drive to your Krakow hotel in the evening.
Amazing trip with friends very moving stories. Guide was so informative and had a lovely voice to listen to such a horrific barbaric happening during the years of the German war with the Polish Jews
Was a very moving day well worth the visit and would recommend anyone to go
We booked a full day at the camp and salt mines and it was well worth it, we didn’t find it to tiring as some people mention, we didn’t cover all the areas in the camp however the guide showed us and and informed on the important parts. If you wanted to see more of the camp best to book camp separate to the salt mines.
I cannot praise the driver and guide enough..they both made this heart breaking but history trip so meaning ful..it was done very well.pick ups.times etc..A perfect day out in everyway..well done.Sue Kershaw
My boyfriend and I really enjoyed the tour and were very impressed with how it was organised. Communication throughout was excellent, the pick up and drop of point was ideal and the tours themselves were wonderful.
The first part of our day we travelled to the Salt Mines. The Mines are a sight to behold. Our tour guide was very knowledgeable and explained everything to us in great detail. She gave us plenty of opportunity to ask questions and to take time to browse around. The only negative is when the tour is finished, you come up the elevator in a different location. The walk is up to 1 km away from the entrance.
Our tour guide Yola at Auschwitz was amazing. Not a very easy tour to speak about, her knowledge of the history was exemplary. Her method of delivery was very empathetic. Possibly the best tour guide I have ever had!!
A must do trip whilst in Krakow, very knowledgable guide throughout the aushwitz camp, very sombre mood and a lesson learnt, would deffo recommend this trip, thank you for making my trip to poland worth while :)
Peter was an excellent driver & the whole experience was first rate.
Punctual, first rate guides and everything ran smoothly.
Maybe not the cheapest tour available but you get what you pay for.
