We visited Auschwitz 1 and Auschwitz-Birkenau, Oscar Shindler's Factory and the pharmacy in the old Jewish Ghetto, unfortunately didn't have time to go to the gestapo building.
The tour guide around Auschwitz was amazing. his name was Bart and his knowledge was fantastic. it wasn't like a normal tour with a monotone voice and stating facts. although you will never really be able to imagine the horrors that occurred, Bart's tour helped us to try and understand what went on. he was able to answer all questions even showing great patience with the couple who were clearly not listening and he had to repeat himself over and over. he is a real asset to the company and is simply the best tour guide i have had. please can you make sure the feedback reaches him. we travelled to Auschwitz on 11th October 12:40 we left Krakow
The trip itself is hard to describe, very sad and emotional to witness the living conditions, punishment cells and treatment of prisoners. having said that i would recommend you visit as its important to see and try to understand what happened there.
The Jewish Ghetto experience was rather emotional, but visiting Oscar's Factory and the Pharmacy showed there were some great people who really wanted to help. 100 worth the visit. i would highly recommend both. the Oscar Shindlers Factory has a great exhibition of Poland struggles during the war, and the Pharmacy gives great insight to life the Ghetto - both the good all the help they received form individuals and the Bad living conditions, treatment and even own Jewish people working for the gestapo.
The Pharmacy has lots of information and i recommend not rushing around both places and reading all thats there.
Very poignant visit to the dark side of history. Not to be missed.
Excellent tour. Very knowledgable and passionate tour guide who didn't hold back on the horrors.
To be honest I was a bit wary as my previous experience with a polish agency was bad!
Sincerely I couldn't wish for a more perfect service!
The office is very easy to find located in the centre, everything was arranged perfectly on time, I was picked up from my hotel as requested exactly on time by a very professional and nice person Pietro grazie! and we were off in a super modern Mercedes Minibus to Auschwitz!
If you are looking for a truly professional tour operator in Krakow this is the one to choose!
It was an excellent tour of Auschwitz-BIrkenau, very detailed and fascinating, i recommend this to anyone. It is a must tour and also a unique experience!
Excellent tour. Hotel pick up on time. We had a movie of liberation on the way to the Camp.
Tour of Auschwitz 1 and then 2. Hosts were excellent.
My only problem was that the museum pass to the Jewish Museim
should be given on the tour. They want you to go down town to pick it up and my hotel was not downtown.
A cab would cost more than the pass. This really was a disappoint. The next day I went to Schinldlers
and had to pay my own way. Get this corrected
EXCELLENT AND OUR TOUR GUIDE WAS SUPERB. RECOMMEND TO TAKE THIS TOUR IN THE MORNING AS IT TAKES CLOSE TO FIVE OURS. BECAUSE WE TOOK IT IN LATE OCTOBER, THE LAST HOUR WAS AFTER SUNSET AND WE COULD NOT SEE MUCH. IT IS A EMOTIONAL TOUR BUT WE CANNOT EVER FORGET
If you are considering buying this Super saver offer, I would highly recommend it. If you do buy make sure you keep your receipt for all three museums and for Auschwitz-Birkenau until you have seen them all. Also you need to visit Discover Cracow to get your card to enter the three museums you are to visit without your guide, these will be stamped when you visit. The museums are for The pharmacy Under the Eagle and Schindler's museum, you will need one day to see these, pick a same day as they are in the same area. The gestapo prison and museum are in a different area and can be covered in an hour. You can also see these museums free on certain days but they will be very busy, I would choose to buy this super saver deal every time, as you can choose when and where to go first and they can be on different days. Each is different in it's own way and very interesting. The main tour at Auschwitz-Birkenau is an unmissable tour, a once in a lifetime visit and must be undertaken, at the very least to pass on to those younger than us, it has to be self evidenced to feel it personally in places. Shocking film shown on the minibus tour, really sets the scenes of what you will intake, but with excellent guides, all able, efficient and dignified you must book this tour!
Auschwitz is definitely a place everyone should go to once in their life. It had a profound effect on our group. We also went to Auschwitz Birkenau, again worth going to experience. However the Super 2 day saver did not live up to its name. The collection time was accurate, the bus was extremely comfortable and the group was a nice size. However, although the tour guide was very good, it felt quite rushed, we had no spare time to look at the sites ourselves, and found out afterward that there was parts we had missed out on. There was no time to look around the shop.
If you buy this pass it does allow free entry to the Schindler's factory museum, however we went to the counter they had never heard of this deal and had a lengthy conversation with the tour operator. In the end they gave us free entry but had asked for smaller tickets, I do not know where they are to be collected from as that is unclear.
The Jewish History museum is signposted 3km from Auschwitz Birkenau, however with this pass you will need to make your own way there. We went to a different museum, and when they checked the Jewish History museum was in Warsaw.... So better check that one out.
I would suggest a full day to do both Auschwitz sites.
