Follow an expert guide through the mine’s tunnels and chambers and discover the Chapel of the Blessed Kinga, an exhibition on the history of Poland’s salt-mining, figures carved from salt and more. See why this 700-year-old complex has been designated a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Your tour will conclude with drop-off back at your Krakow hotel.
  • Morning or afternoon trip to the Wieliczka Salt Mine from Krakow
  • Guided walk through the salt mine
  • Chapel of the Blessed Kinga
  • Underground salt-mining exhibition
  • Expert English-speaking guide
  • Pickup and drop off from selected Krakow hotels
Your tour will begin in Krakow, where you’ll be picked up directly from your hotel. Journey to the Wieliczka Salt Mine and, upon arriving, make the descent 440 feet (135 meters) below ground, passing through tunnels and chambers on three levels.

Travel through each unique chamber with your guide, learning the history behind the centuries-old salt mine. Hear the legend of the Hungarian princess, Kinga, whose dowry included the salt mines when she married Boleslaw the Shy over 700 years ago. Explore the ornate Chapel of the Blessed Kinga, with altarpieces and chandeliers made from natural salt deposits, and visit an underground salt-mining exhibition.

The last stop on your visit to the mine is the souvenir shop and snack bar. From here, shoot back up to the surface in a high-speed lift, where you will be returned to your Krakow hotel.

Great tour, although the pick-up point was a bit crazy. It would have been good if each of the guides had a sign instead of everyone having to ask Are you xyz tour.

The local guide at the mine was great and able to answer a wide variety of questions. I liked that we had headsets - it made it very easy to hear the guide.

The elevator to come back up is not for the faint of heart or the claustrophobic ... my lord, I thought I was going to die!

Good amount of free time to shop and use facilities.

A must see when in Krakow. This mine has the most amazing sculptures and a cathedral beyond this world.

One of the first sites in the world chosen as an UNESCO World Heritage site, the salt mine is truly an incredible feat of engineering, a testament to endurance and hard work, and a repository of great beauty.

It is a must to visit the Salt Mines when you are in Krakow. It is history and art in one go. You must go their on a guided tour, if you do not want to spend much time in the ticket line.

This is absolutely amaising place to visit! Unbeleavebly huge labyrinth made of salt underground. Impressiv artistic handcrafts, made of salt by workers. Our guide was also very knowlegeable, she unswered all the questions and spoke good English. Highly recomended trip, not far away from the city, about 30 min driving.
