What You Can Expect

Wieliczka Salt Mine Half-Day Trip from Krakow

Wieliczka Salt Mine, Poland

Your tour will begin in Krakow, where you’ll be picked up directly from your hotel. Journey to the Wieliczka Salt Mine and, upon arriving, make the descent 440 feet (135 meters) below ground, passing through tunnels and chambers on three levels.

Travel through each unique chamber with your guide, learning the history behind the centuries-old salt mine. Hear the legend of the Hungarian princess, Kinga, whose dowry included the salt mines when she married Boleslaw the Shy over 700 years ago. Explore the ornate Chapel of the Blessed Kinga, with altarpieces and chandeliers made from natural salt deposits, and visit an underground salt-mining exhibition.

The last stop on your visit to the mine is the souvenir shop and snack bar. From here, shoot back up to the surface in a high-speed lift, where you will be returned to your Krakow hotel.

A VERY INTERESTING TAKE IN. MY ONLY WISH TOUR GUILD AT START
HAD ASK IF ANYBODY NEEDS TOUR TO BE ADJUSTED. THE FIRST 376
STEPS CAN BE AVOIDED BY ELEVATOR. WOULD OF BEEN HELPFUL
SINCE I HAD BROKEN MY LEG RECENTLY. THE REST OF STEPS
ANOTHER 400 ARE SPREAD OUT IN 50-100-75 AMOUNTS AND THIS
MAKES IT MORE DO ABLE. A WONDERFUL TOUR EVERYONE SHOULD
SEE IF VISITING IN KRAKOW.

The tour iis fascinating. I didn and #39;t think I would enjoy it as much as I did, having been to plenty of mines in the UK before, but this is on another scale. I highly recommend anyone visiting Poland book onto this tour. PS: the lift was exciting, not scary (only a little cramped). Highly recommend!

It was amazing experience, despite a very large size of the group. We had a good tour guide in the mine. I was picked-up on time from the hotel. I would strongly recommend this unique tour.
