Enjoy the life of a tropical island castaway during this wonderful 3-day excursion to Malaysia's Pangkor Island from Kuala Lumpur. If you're looking for a way to escape the stress and fast-pace of the city for a little rest and relaxation, this is (literally) your ticket to paradise.

Depart on day one from Kuala Lumpur with a pickup at 8am from your hotel, leaving on a 3.5-hour drive through the Malaysian countryside. Along the way you'll pass traditional kampongs (villages) with raised wooden houses, eventually arriving in Lumut to catch a ferry to the island. Reach the island that afternoon and check into the 4-star Pangkor Laut Resort, after which you'll have time to explore the island at your leisure or relax on the island's incredible beaches.

Spend day two however you wish, either perfecting your tan or taking part in activities like catamaran sailing, snorkeling, sport fishing and more (at your own expense) and enjoying a second night at your resort. Return to Kuala Lumpur on day three, the feeling of calm and relaxation still radiating through your body. See below for full itinerary details.

Definitely not a trip for the solo traveller, but I still had a pretty good time. Lack of Wifi in the Pangkor Island Beach Resort rooms was definitely a disappointment, but the rest of the room was nice. Lumat was a ghost town while I was stuck there for a few hours waiting for the ferry, but once I got to Pangkor it was much nicer. I first stuck around the resort, but later started to explore the rest of the island and had the best watermelon juice of my life. So good I even had to get some in a bag to go! :D
