Immerse in the natural surroundings outside Kuala Lumpur on this activity-filled getaway. Batu Caves are your first stop, followed by a visit to a local elephant conservation center. You’ll have the opportunity to feed and, if you’re lucky, bathe these majestic mammals. Follow up with a countryside drive to Bukit Melawati for a close encounter with silvered leaf monkeys. After a seafood dinner at a riverside cafe, finish with a boat ride on the Selangor River to see fireflies light up the night.
My tour guide John and new recruit Robert were absolutely amazing. They went above and beyond to make sure I saw everything I wanted to. I was alone on the tour but enjoyed their company and learned a great detail about Malaysia from them both. We covered everything on the itinerary and more. This was well worth the money. It's a very long day, but they really cram a lot in. I'm not sure the elephant sanctuary was what I expected - it felt more like a zoo with only elephants to show, but I'm sure many people would enjoy it nevertheless. I would definitely recommend doing this especially if you have limited time to see everything.
A long day and a lot of driving but still worth it. John was an amazing guide and we had a lot of fun.
This was a long but thoroughly enjoyable day out which gave us a real impression of Malaysia outside of Kuala Lumpur. Our guide Ram was there early at our hotel to pick us up and took pains throughout the day to make sure we had everything we wanted. Batu Caves were fascinating, the elephants were lovely, the monkeys were cheeky but quite charming. Our dinner location was stunning, beside a wide river watching the tropical sun go down. The ride upriver in the dark was exhilarating and the fireflies performed beautifully. As well as the official sites this tour covers a lot of ground and you get a good impression of the various landscapes of the country. Ram was a knowledgeable from whom we learned a lot. Highly recommended.
I had a great day with Ram who was my guide, driver and historian for the day.
This was the only chance that I managed to get away from Kuala Lumpur for the day, and it was well worth it. You do spend quite a bit of the day in the car, but this was even worth it as you get to see the countryside.
Overall, my favourite parts of the day were feeding the elephants, trying several Malaysian local food dishes and of course, seeing the various groups of monkeys.
I am looking forward to my next trip already. T :-
Our guide Mr. John was so friendly and helpful to us!
