What To Expect

Receive a pickup from your Kuala Lumpur hotel and head to Merdeka Square, your first stop of the day. This famous public space celebrates Malaysian independence from the British in the mid-20th century. Continue on to the King’s Palace, also known as the Istana Negara, where you can take pictures of the Malaysian monarch’s intricate royal residence.

Ready to take your Kuala Lumpur visit to new heights? Head next to the world-famous Petronas Towers, where you can crane your neck up at these structures that once claimed the title as the world’s tallest buildings. Contrast your visit to these glass and steel architectural marvels by exploring the manicured grounds of Malaysia’s National Mosque, a site whose spectacular main dome is covered in brilliant blue and green tile work.

Continue your Kuala Lumpur adventure by checking out the Chinese Thean Hou Temple, learning about the influence of Chinese religions like Buddhism, Taoism, and Confucianism on Malaysian culture. Then stop by the Lake Gardens, get a sense of the country’s history at the National Museum and admire the beautiful Kuala Lumpur Railway Station.

Cap off your trip by paying your respects to those who lost their lives in the Malaysian struggle for independence at the Tugu Negara (National Monument), designed by American architect Felix de Weldon. At the end of the tour return to your hotel aboard your minivan.

Merdeka Square

After pickup from the Malaysia Tourism Center (MATIC) or your centrally located hotel in Kuala Lumpur, travel by air-conditioned minivan to the first stop on your half-day tour: Merdeka Square. Also called Independence Square, this symbol of Malaysian independence is one of the most picturesque squares in the world. I recommend that you do this tour on the first day you arrive, otherwise if you do it a day later or 2 days later you will have seen most of the attractions anyway.
Get this tour to get a view of the colonial influence in Malaysia and also the cosmopolitan nature of the city with the right mix of Malay+Chinese ethnicities.
A very good tour for every first timer in Kuala Lumpur.

Seeing the museum.
Jeffrey_S, Jan 2020
I felt they took you to a store to buy chocolate and another store to buy painted pictures. That left only 10 minutes to take a picture outside of the Patronas tower and then they said there wouldn’t be time to go inside the museum. We decided to go inside the museum and take a grab taxi back to the hotel on our own. By then half of the people in the tour had left the tour prior to the end.
Tour kl city

Really good tour, guide very helpful and able to talk about the city. Interesting and gave a good insight into kl
See it now.
Thomas_F, Sep 2019
Really enjoyed this outing. Good pace with time for pics. Guide and driver were professional and fun. Got to see some good sights and got info on happenings.
Discussions on Malaysia and football
jonesdl, Feb 2020
I was the only one on the tour. Most other people preferred the hop on hop off. This tour involved a drive around some of the main sites. It didn’t cover the large number of sites the hop on hop off did however it’s strength was the discussion on Malaysia and its culture. I was able to ask any questions I wanted and got pretty straight answers. So all good in the end.
Brilliant

Half Day tour
Sandra_D, Feb 2020
Driver was very knowledgeable but did point out he was a driver not a tour guide which surprised us. Very efficient service from Asni Tours though and would recommend.

A fantastic trip with Raj. He arrived early, was very personable and had great knowledge about Kuala Lumpur and Malaysia. My wife and I had an excellent afternoon. Thank you.

Chona_A, Jul 2022
Our tourist guide is awesome, he knows the locations, history and very friendly person, the best tour guide in Malaysia
Our tour guide, Mohammed...
Bernadette_G, May 2022
Our tour guide, Mohammed was excellent and knowledgeable about each site we stopped in . He was most patient and open to all our questions and would accommodate us for all our suggestions. We feel so bad we did not give him more tip as we were confused about the money denominations. I would recommend him for his excellent service!
Not what’s described
Ramesh_N, Apr 2022
The trip was approx. 2hrs and the driver only suggested to take pictures from the outside of a few places and he didn’t know much of the local story. We saw, a Batik printing shop (no tour), twin towers from the outside, Dataran Merdeka area, National Mosque from outside too and Istana from outside. We asked the driver to stop at Muslim architecture museum and we paid and looked around ourselves. Positive comments are that, the driver picked us up at our hotel relatively punctual, and we as polite and helped take pictures. But the tour is not worth the money.
Highly recommended tour!
Crystal_G, Aug 2022
Great guide and great private tour with Mr. Raja! Love that I could tour at my own pace. He even added extra stops along the way. Be careful at the Batu caves as the monkeys are aggressive. Private tours are the way to go!

This was a very nice tour...
Emma_F, Jun 2022
This was a very nice tour and my driver was very very nice! However, I would have liked to have learned more about the history of Malaysia and Kuala Lumpur, instead I just felt like we stopped at certain places and took pictures, not really knowing what they were or how they were important. The driver was super nice, but was not a tour guide, just a driver who did his best to answer my questions.
A bit boring and unnecessary at parts
Umut A, Sep 2019
There were some stops that were just shops essentially. The best stop is the National Museum, our guide advised us not to go in but I’m glad I did and only cost RM5. it was a great museum. I would’ve rather have spent more time there than at a chocolate ‘factory’ which was just a shop and a clothes store.
Great city tour
