What To Expect
Meet a local guide and group at a central location in Kuching, where this tour begins, and come hungry: you’ll sample Sarawak food at eight locations during the 4-hour tour. Start the day on foot, walking the heritage trail down atmospheric lanes, with plenty of time to snack along the way.
Taste the city’s most famous street foots, from Sarawak laksa, rice noodles in spicy soup, to kolomee egg noodles and tebaloi, a starchy biscuit made from sago. Don’t miss kek lapis, a colorful layered cake, and save room for a variety of local drinks and sweets. The stops include a range of traditional cafes and food carts, and you’ll learn tidbits about Borneo food, language, and culture at each place.
Board a sampan boat across the Sarawak River, then pick up a bicycle for the remainder of the tour. Pedal country paths through rural neighborhoods, which are the perfect place to get a glimpse of everyday life in local Borneo communities. Keep sampling treats along the way before returning to central Kuching, where this tour concludes.

A wonderful way to see Kuching and experience the local food. The tour starts out with a walk around the historic areas of Kuching and then a nice bike ride to some local markets. The food was GREAT and our guide, Fahrah, was fantastic! Highly recommend!
Not only a bite and food tour but also the history, culture and population are well covered and interesting. We visited Kuching centre by foot, then went outside to see the food market, a village and the river by bike and then took the ferry back. Plus on my request we went inside the mosque. My guide was Niki, I loved her nice company and the interesting things she has to tell and all the people she knows. Highly recommended!
Thoroughly enjoyed this tour. Our guid Farhah (guide) enthusiastic and passionate about her home town. Background history and culture was incorporated well with her story telling. The walking and cycling was easy with good directions.
Food tasted was delicious .. don't eat before going.
