Thoroughly enjoyed the visit. Staff were very informative and helpful and we got to see a broad range of animals and birds.

The tour was awesome the guide was funny and talked about each animal in detail. The best part was after the tour we prepared the animals food then fed them it was really fun.
This was one of the best experiences of my entire trip to Costa Rica. The guide, Carlos, was very passionate and knowledgeable. It felt wonderful knowing that the majority of the animals we were feeding and helping and learning about were being returned to the wild. Would just agree with other posters that you should definitely bring bug spray and make sure it's powerful- I used some and still got bitten quite badly on my legs. It was still worth it though- would gladly go again.
Didnt know quite what to expect but we absolutely loved it.It was definitely educational but I got a better understanding on alot of costa Ricas animals and efforts.Carlos does make this tour,he's very passionate and charismatic.Bring bug spray and ponchos. My kids were 15 and 17 and my daughter now wants to go to camp there for a week!
I loved being able to feed the animals and to interact with them.
This was definitely one of the coolest things we did in CR! We got to be a small part of rehabilitating these wounded and special animals. The tour guide was a wealth of information and taught us so much about Costa Rican wildlife. We would definitely do this again! High four like a spider monkey!!!
Incredible tour and experience, largely because of the tour guide Carlos. Probably a 4-star without him - he earns a star himself just for the energy and passion he brings. Our kids loved his stories and true love for the animals and cause. Don't miss out on the extra option to feed animals - it's worth the money and then some. This is probably worth a trip to the La Fortuna area on its own. Go.
Definately one of the highlights of our trip, and we were there for 2 weeks. Carlos was great, very educational for us and our children. Highly recommended!
Great time. Carlos was extremely knowledgeable and made the tour a fun one! Do yourself a favor and opt for the extended tour so you can feed the animals. It was the highlight of our trip!
The highlight of our trip! A truly unique opportunity to learn about and interact with the beautiful animals of this country. Be sure to wear STRONG insect repellent when you visit.

AMAZING!! I would highly recommend. We did the 3 hour tour. We learned so much about the wildlife they are trying to save and feeding the monkeys and birds was a life experience. Remember you have to reserve your spot and wear closed toed shoes.
Amazing time, and there aren't too many places out there you could have a comparable experience. Our guide was funny, lots of side stories, really brought the educational side to light, and had a great time with the different animals. Rained the whole time.
This was a great opportunity to learn more about the native animals of Costa Rica. Our guide was incredibly knowledgeable and did a great job of making us think about implications of human interventions in the natural world. It was great to have the opportunity to help with the care of the animals, especially since it allowed us to interact more directly with the animals. I'd definitely recommend a visit!
This was one of our favorite experiences in Costa Rica! We saw monkeys, parrots, a baby porcupine. I fed spider monkeys, gave a wild pig a belly rub, and a baby monkey played with my hair. Our tour guide was funny, charming, and knowledgeable.
WOW!!! Make sure you do this, do not pass up on the volunteer experience, made all of it soooo much better. The staff was amazing.
We got lost on the way there and arrived very late, but Carlos came out and gave us a private tour anyway -- above and beyond! They do great work and we learned a lot about the thoughtful and well-informed way they analyze each animal's potential to be returned to the wild -- how much time each type of bird with clipped wings needs to grow back the wings and learn to fly, etc. Scratched a friendly pecorino, held hands with adorable monkeys. My daughter wants to go back and volunteer there.
The person who guided us was incredibly passionate about his role and was very educational. We were really impressed with sharing his knowledge for how to engage the local culture to make a change. The hands on work with the animals was great too. Thank you and we will recommend again in the future!!!
A must do activity that helps the effort to rescue wildlife in Costa Rica!
The only bad part of this trip is getting there. Confusing directions.
I love the small groups to keep everything intimate. It was very educational and eye opening to the exploitation of wild animals for profit. Interacting with the Monkeys was the high light for us. Must do the Volunteer portion!
Close up and personal with the animals and our guide Adrien was excellent!
Carlos was wonderful. He was very knowledgeable and great with kids. I highly recommend the volunteer portion of the tour. Loved it when the spider monkey refused to eat the vegetables and swatted them out of our hands.
