Your 8.5-hour kayaking adventure on Lake Titicaca starts with pickup from your centrally located hotel in La Paz. Enjoy a private ride across the city of El Alto. It takes about an hour and a half to reach the shores of the lake, and once you get there, your group stops at a historical museum run by the family who built the famous Kon-Tiki rafts.
After your visit to the museum, you still have about an hour drive up to the spot where the kayaks are. It takes a little time to get the inflatable kayaks ready. Your guide gives everyone a short training about being on the water before taking off.
Paddle out across the lake, and enjoy views of the surrounding area. Make your way toward a Bolivian village where your guide has you stop for a late lunch at a local restaurant. Your kayaking experience ends here, and once lunch is done, hop back in your vehicle for the ride back to La Paz.
