Picked up fromour hotel on time, the trip to the meeting place was quick. The tour itself was so interesting with avery knowledgeable guidewho explained everything without going on and on like some do! Lunchwas a real treat and after the tour weweretaken back to ourhotel. A brillia t day. Thankyou viator for the trip.
This was probably the highlight of our trip to Lanzarote. We were picked up at our hotel at 9:30am in a small minibus and headed straight up to start the tour (about a 20 minute drive from Playa Blanca). There were a total of 10 people on the tour, plus the guide and the driver. At our first stop, we walked to the top of a volcano to look down into the crater. It was about a 5km walk, with a climb to the top. Not too steep, but wear good walking shoes as the path is very stoney. After that, we drove to a small village for a very acceptable packed lunch, that is included as part of the tour. There are also toilets at this point. Then onto the second volcano for a flat walk of about 1km around the base of the volcano to see a "Volcanic Bomb". Fascinating. Our final stop was to walk into a crater (about 2km on flat ground). We got back to our hotel about 3:30pm.The guide was really knowledgeable, but also great fun. Overall, I would say this was great value for money, and well worth doing. In total, the walking is around 7 to 8Km but not too difficult.
For all those with a geological disposition and a want for some history of the Island then this is a fantastic tour. We were picked up promptly from the hotel and taken to the meeting point. There we met our guide Adolfo and what a guide. Full of knowledge with a layman's way of putting over to you.
There is a lot of walking on this tour having said that it is done at a pace that both my wife and I had no ill effects the following day.
The staff at Viator really do their homework on the tours and I cant rate this highly enough.
A brilliant trip and very informative. The guide Adolfo certainly knew his stuff when it came to talking about volcanoes. The first volcano I have to warn you is quite a steep climb, so don't turn up in high heels! Boots or trainers are a must. The three volcanoes were all very
different. Luckily the weather was just right which made the walk even better. Highly recommended.
