What To Expect

Your El Dorado Canyon and Gold Mine Trip from Las Vegas transport you from the glittering lights of the famous Strip to the desolate landscapes surrounding the Colorado River. Navigate through cactus forests, red rock formations and mountain ranges that lead to the Grand Canyon on this exciting half-day trip.

After hotel pick up, you’ll be transported to the launch site where you'll get on your fully automatic ATV or UTV and receive a safety and operations orientation before hitting the trail with your professional guide.

Cruise through the rugged terrain under big open skies before settling in for a walking tour of the Techatticup mine. Your guide will explain how the deep shafts here are believed to be haunted as you make your way through the spaces where miners once searched for gold.

Your tour includes lunch in Old West Town, a restored 19th-century mining camp.  Get a taste of history as you tuck into a picnic lunch surrounded by desert landscapes before making your way back to Las Vegas.

Nelson Ghost Town (Pass By)

Just before arriving at Eldorado Canyon, you will pass through the small town of Nelson, NV. The area known as Nelson was originally called Eldorado in 1775, by the Spaniards who made the original discoveries of gold in the area that is now Eldorado Canyon. The town was the site of one of the first major gold strikes in Nevada and one of the biggest mining booms in state history. The community called Nelson was named for Charles Nelson, a camp leader who was slain in his home, along with four other people, in 1897 by the renegade Indian, Avote

Best tour in Vegas!

The BEST tour I've ever had. Sherman was awesome! A nonstop fountain of information. Eldorado village was out of this world! Loaded with old cars, buildings and history. Sherman made it all come alive. The mine was extremely interesting also due to Sherman's knowledge. Worth every penny.
Amazing guide

I went on the ATV and Gold Mine tour for my birthday last week and this was an amazing tour!!! Sherman, our guide was very knowledgeable about the information and patient with the rookie (mainly me lol). We enjoyed our tour from the moment we were picked up from our hotel right up until the very end when we were dropped back off. If you ever are in Las Vegas, this is definitely a tour you should take.

The day started out with Alisha picking us up at our hotel lobby. Alisha was a great guide and just made the overall experience a lot of fun for everyone in our group of 8 with her vast knowledge of the area and explaining the history behind this abandoned gold town which now has only a population of 3. When we arrived at the ranch we had some time to explore the property which is covered in historical artifacts including mining equipment, tools, relics, antique vehicles, and an authentic general store filled with more history of the area giving us a chance to purchase souvenirs. After exploring the area we were all given our own quad and we’re lead through a trail system among beautiful mountains and valleys. At one point on the trail system Alisha had us stop and get off the quads to follow her up into a cave system where she explained the history and geology. Then we all met up in the second floor of a hand crafted 1800s period correct barn to have our lunch which was waiting for us at tables that overlooked the mountains, valley and lake. The views we’re incredible. After lunch we were lead into the original world known Eldorado mine where hundreds of men had given their lives for the chance to strike it rich. You can still see some of the old crosses on hills sorrounding the mine where the miners were laid to rest. Some of the miners were as young as 12. As you travel throughout the mine you see the quartz veins up close filled with minerals included gold and silver! This was an experience none of us will ever forget.
Great tour.

We were picked up promptly and stayed with the same guide all day. Sherman was amazing, informative and just all around a wonderful guide. Plenty of time spent on the ATVs and in the mine. It was a very well balanced tour.
Sherman was the best part...
Karina_L, Apr 2022
Sherman was the best part of the trip. He was knowledgeable and fun to be with all day. We had a blast and will be doing it again when we return to Vegas.
Awful experience
Selene_T, Apr 2022
We did not enjoy the trip. Poor organization, during the tour things were skipped because other groups were there. Sight seeing was limited and your guides kept making excuses saying o this was new it must have happened over the weekend. They have tours daily, that was ridiculous. The razor tour was awful because we stopped so many time because people did not know to operate the vehicles. I felt it was cut short, speed was kept between 5 and 7 mph. I do not recommend
