What To Expect

This sightseeing tour of the Grand Canyon begins with a hotel pickup in Las Vegas. Make the trek east in an air-conditioned, luxury motor coach, passing through the Mojave Desert and the Black Mountains and Grand Wash Cliffs of Arizona along the way.

Arrive at the Grand Canyon National Geographic Visitor Center for lunch and souvenir shopping, then proceed to Grand Canyon National Park for several hours of exploring at the South Rim. Make scenic stops at Bright Angel Lodge, one of the original hotel destinations at the Grand Canyon South Rim and Mather Point, with the most popular overlook and trails lining the edge of the canyon. See the widest and deepest point of the Grand Canyon at over 8,400 feet deep and 21 miles across.

Upgrade to include the most-watched movie in IMAX history, 'Grand Canyon Discovery and Adventure,' and/or a guided hummer tour along the rim, complete with stunning views and an education on the canyon’s history, geology and wildlife. Another option would be to take a scenic helicopter flight over the South Rim of the canyon (this replaces the visit to Mather Point and Visitors Center).

Las Vegas Strip

After hotel pickups are finished you will depart immediately to the Grand Canyon. Travel time between Las Vegas and the Grand Canyon is around three hours each way. Your driver will provide an expert commentary along the way. All vehicles are climate controlled and equipped with reclining seats, video monitors restrooms and over-sized windows.

20 minutesAdmission Ticket Free

Grand Canyon Imax Theater

Optional Upgrade: You'll get a spectacular taste of the Grand Canyon if you attend a screening of the most watched movie in IMAX history, The Grand Canyon Discovery and Adventure. The footage captured by airplanes, helicopters, hang gliders and canoes is truly incredible.

Grand Canyon
Theresa_G, Mar 2023
Just wished we had more time to explore the canyon and gift shops. 15 minute breaks not long enough. It took 15 minutes for the loo break.

Jeff_C, Jan 2023
We enjoyed the trip as I travelled with my wife and parents in-laws. I wish we had a more specific schedule of the different stops and a rough time table. It would have been nice to know that we would only have a few hours to spend at the Grand Canyon specific stops. The tour guides/drivers were great and I found the information they provided quite interesting/useful.

Great views
Matthew_P, Sep 2022
I will start off by saying that the Grand Canyon was a great experience, amazing views and everyone should go, if they can. I think our tour guide and driver was called Terry and he has only been working there since May. He seemed a nice guy, he was prompt and informative. But, I am not sure whether it was nerves and/or inexperience. I was a little disappointed. He talked a lot, but about the names of the roads we were on and repeated himself regarding the itinerary for the day. I think everyone got the message. He informed people about 4 times not to get on the Shuttle buses at the GC. Who would!? He gave a running commentary on what he would be doing whilst we were off the bus. He said the DVD player wasnt working, as I would have liked to have watched information on the Hoover Dam and Grand Canyon. The replacement driver got it working with no issues. I dont know how training works, so wouldnt comment or suggest. But can someone tell him that a lot of the info was irrelavent or repeated.
Response from Host, Sep 2022
Dear Matthew, Thank you for being a Gray Line customer and leaving us very useful feedback. We are thrilled that you enjoyed the Grand Canyon and we will be have Terry undergo some additional customer service training to hone his skills and make the narrative more relevant for future guests. On behalf of everyone at Gray Line I want to wish you all the best in your future travel experiences. Sincerely, GL Vegas Customer Service
Grand Canyon Experience
Rhys_B, Sep 2022
It was a great ride, comfortable coach and plenty of stops for bathroom breaks and snacks. Overall a very enjoyable trip, my only complaint was the fact it hammered down which prevented us from seeing the canyon properly

13 hrs on a bus for 2 hrs at GC--not worth it
John_C, Apr 2022
This is not a reflection on the company--more about the experience. Had to leave my hotel room at 6:30AM and returned 10:30PM. Of the 16hrs, 2 hours was actually spent viewing the Grand Canyon. Can't say it's worth it. Also, the bus makes too many stops. I'm sure they're getting some form of compensation to bring 50 people into these places, but the return trip had four stops. Everyone is tired and wants to get "home" and they just kept stopping. There is a bathroom on the bus if needed. Two stops to stretch your legs is all that's needed. Even one stop on the return trip would be enough.
Response from Host, Apr 2022
Dear John C, Thank you for being a Gray Line customer and leaving us feedback. We are sorry that we missed you sightseeing expectations. At Gray Line Las Vegas we have been taking visitors to the amazing South Rim of the Grand Canyon for over 40 years and during that time the bast majority of our guests have indicated that since the journey is over 4 1/2 hours each way they expect a stop in each so that they can grab a snack, stretch their legs and most importantly use a restroom that is not traveling down the highway at interstate speeds. And there is no getting around that a day trip to the South Rim of the Grand Canyon makes for a long day as it is over 570 miles round trip from Las Vegas- the closest major city to the South Rim. On behalf of everyone at Gray Line around the world, I want to thank you for choosing Gray Line and wish you all the best in your future travel experiences. Sincerely, GL Vegas Customer Service

Disappointed the hummer was cancelled. But the rim was fantastic. Need longer stops for meals. They were very rushed. Had to eat on the bus and it stunk to high heaven. Need water also provided in my opinion.

Bad weather was ignored
NVSudarsanRao_V, Dec 2021
Without even an inkling of the bad snow storm, the tour was sold putting everyone at risk. These were the words of the driver himself.
Response from Host, Jan 2022
Dear NVSudar, Thank you for being a Gray Line customer and we are sorry that we missed your expectations. For over 100 years safety has been the number 1 priority at Gray Line and we never knowingly put anyone in harms way. Starting a few days prior to a schedule tour we begin checking with both the Arizona highway department and the National Park Service to make sure travel conditions are safe. Our company has been taking visitors on day excursions from Las Vegas to the Grand Canyon National Park for over 40 years and during that time our valued guests have made it abundantly clear that if it appears that travel conditions are safe, they want the tours to proceed. For many visitors this may be their only opportunity to see the Grand Canyon. The Grand Canyon presents some unique challenges were attempting to forecast weather conditions. It's unique structure and size create its own weather microsystem and the conditions at the National Park can change very rapidly and in unanticipated ways. There is no way to know when our coaches leave Las Vegas what the exact conditions will be upon arrival- this is why we rely on both Arizona and the National Park Service, as they are best resources available. After all, the Grand Canyon National Park is over 570 miles round trip from Las Vegas, so it is impossible to extrapolate weather conditions in Las Vegas to what may transpire either along the route or at the Grand Canyon. Snow and wintery conditions, while obviously not optimal, should not be an unexpected event when visiting remote wilderness areas (such as a National Park) in the middle of winter. In closing, I want to wish you well in your future travel experiences. Sincerely, GL Vegas Customer Service

Save your money & time!
Edda_N, Dec 2021
Ot all started when the South Rim tour was canceled due to bad weather, Grey Line called to offer the option of taking the West Rim tour instead. We agreed (eventhough it was $30 more pp). They confirmed pickup would be at 7:25a from the hotel lobby. We had to wait for 4 different buses because they were all full. After an hour wait, we get on the bus and head out. The only seats available were at the end of the bus and the tourguide didn’t use the microphone so we didn’t hear any instructions or any info when passing Hoover Dam ( we and others asked for her to please talk through the mic). Once we arrived to the West Rim Center, she only mentioned the tickets for the Skywalk & helicopter tours, never said anything about general admission, so the groups that didn’t have any of those activities stayed seated for almost 45 mins waiting for instructions. Then I went to ask her what would the rest of the groups do while waiting and that’s when she said we had to get general admission tickets for the buses to the viewpoints. She handed some and sald to be back at 2:30p and we left. After multiple long lines we barely got to see the Eagle & Guano point as we had to head back to the bus. Once we arrive to the bus at 2:15p, she sald she meant Arizona time, therefore we had another hour to spare. Thing is tickets are only valid for one use, we couldn’t go in again. Had to wait 2 hour at the bus just because she forgot to mention there was time difference. At the end we lost 3 hours of tour just seating in a bus. Wouldn’t recommend this tour with Grey Line.
Response from Host, Jan 2022
Dear Edda_N, Thank you for being a Gray Line customer and I want to apologize for both the actions of our driver/guide and the delay in responding to this post. The delay was due to the serious points you made your post, as we had to take some time to investigate the situation. Based upon your feedback, as well as some other guests, we have now made sure that this driver will no longer be taking our valued guests on any of our tours. Normally we like to deal with staff issues through retraining, yet we believe this was too important. In closing, I want to once again apologize for the issues and wish you all the best in your future travel experiences. Sincerely, GL Vegas Customer Service.

Beautiful experience but...
Jennifer_R, Dec 2021
The Grand Canyon was beautiful and I would definitely like to go again someday. My only complaint is that by the time that my group of 4 got on the bus, it was already packed and I wasn't able to sit with the people that I came with and I felt that wasn't right. So 3 plus hours there and back and the only time that I got to see my friends were during stops. I paid for it and me being able to sit with my party is part of this experience. I felt like there should have been another bus to make sure of that and more importantly because we're still in a pandemic and in one bus everyone is cramped and on top of each other.
Response from Host, Dec 2021
Dear Jennifer, Thank you for being a Gray Line customer and we are very sorry that we missed your sightseeing expectations. At Gray Las Vegas, while we do try to make sure everyone in a party gets to sit together, we never guarantee seating arrangements. We are sorry that this affected your day. I also want to assure you that we are following all the government protocols for safe travels during COVID. On behalf of everyone at Gray Line around the globe, I want to wish you all the best in your future travel experiences. Sincerely, GL Vegas Customer Service

Great way to see more of the Grand Canyon
Carol_B, Nov 2021
I booked this tour before our visit to Las Vegas. The Grayline bus was big which was great for the long drive. Our bus driver Ozzy was AWESOME! Very funny and did a great job of giving us history as we traveled to the Grand Canyon. The Buck Wild Hummer Tour was great, very timely. Our tour guide Trey was very patient, took pictures of our group and was a wealth of information about the canyon. Even the box lunch was good! I would recommend this tour as it is a great way to see more of the Grand Canyon.
