Meet your professional guide at your Las Vegas hotel, and get expansive views of the desert as you travel south to Goodsprings. Enjoy the milder temperatures as you leave the city—Goodsprings is typically 10 degrees cooler than Las Vegas.

Follow your guide on a walking tour of the map dot town, which has starred in classic westerns and television shows. Learn about the glory days when Goodsprings outshined Las Vegas with 7 bars, 6 mercantile stores, 4 brothels, a hotel and ice cream parlor. Hear about the rip roaring history and wild past of the city, and get some raucous stories from one of the oldest saloons in Nevada.

Sit down at the Pioneer Saloon bar, where Clark Gable waited for news after Carole Lombard’s tragic plane crash on a nearby mountain. Read century-old newspapers in the Goodsprings Museum room, and see antiques and historical artifacts that bring the west west past to life, then finish the tour with return transfer to your Las Vegas hotel.

It was great and very interesting! They the tour guides were wonderful, very nice, funny, accommodating, knowledgeable and passionate about their town and its history! My favourite part was the saloon/restaurant-fascinating to see a place where history was made! Authentic and a nice / peaceful day out from Las Vegas. I would definitely recommend it! Lise

Las Vegas is a great place to visit and not just for the gambling and shows because there is so much to see and do around the area. I discovered the Pioneer Saloon tour on-line and figured that it would be something different. It was and I say that in a positive sense. I called the tour operator, Star Journey, before I arrived in Las Vegas to confirm my tour and Jon told me he would be my tour guide and actually asked me what time I wanted to start the tour. This was new, as most tours operate on the tour companys schedule. He explained that I was the only one on the tour, which allowed for the flexibility. He picked me up on schedule actually he was waiting for me in his car when I got downstairs and off we went. This flexibility also allowed us to make an unscheduled stop at the Gold Strike Hotel, one of the areas older casinos/hotels. Jon knew the area well, was very informative, and made this tour quite interesting. The Pioneer Saloon was definitely an interesting stop. This tour is not the Grand Canyon, but is one more point of interest in the area. If you have the time, its worth adding it to your schedule. I hope the tour operator adds additional tours in the area.

We loved our tour of Goodsprings and the Pioneer Saloon. Our tour guide Jonathan was brilliant! He was so enthusiastic and extremely knowledgeable about the area. The tour also includes food and drink in the price and we opted for beer and burgers which were delicious. This tour is a must for anybody interested in the history of this little town.
