Great tour. James is a very pleasant tour guide who goes the extra mile to ensure that the trip runs smoothly.
Great tour. Hal was a great tour guide, extremely knowledgeable.
It was our intention to rent a car from the Las Vegas strip and drive to the Hoover Dam but we looked on Trip Advisor, saw the review for this tour and decided to do this instead. One of our better choices. The shuttle was very comfortable and our Tour Guide, Randy, was just plain great. He was enthusiastic, informative, and had a great sense of humor. By the time we arrived, we were already feeling informed. We all agreed to rate that day a 10.
We highly recommend going on this tour. Our guide Alvin was terrific. Take this tour it is very, very interesting. Alvin did a great job explaining things.
This was a very convenient way to see the Hoover Dam. We were greeted by our driver at our hotel : I cant remember his name : - but he was great. Only glitch was the microphone didnt work, but he spoke up and had lots of interesting information to share. The traffic was heavy getting to the dam, but OUR DRIVER WENT ABOVE AND BEYOND FOR OUR GROUP! The others in our group were friendly. We had a wonderful day! Thank you again to our tour driver! Thank you Viator, I made my reservations late and your phone reservation representative was kind and efficient as well as the local representatives to confirm our tours.
If you want to see the Hoover Dam from the inside out.....this is the tour for you!!! Not only do you get some spectacular views, but you get to go inside the dam and see all the inter-workings!! Fascinating!
The best part by far was our guide Pam...she is a walking encyclopedia! Her knowledge of the area is incredible. I learned so much.
This is a nice quick tour for those who have dinner or show plans like we did. We got back to our hotel in plenty of time for the evening activities.
Excellent half day trip providing a great overview of Hoover Dam...exterior as well as interior. Driver was very well informed and knowledgeable! Tour included adequate free time at Hoover Dam for photos. Even the drive to and from the Strip was informative. I especially enjoyed the historical background on Nevada and Las Vegas on the drive to the Dam. I would highly recommend this tour for a half day tour outside the city.
We were picked up at our hotel, New York New York, at the exact time and location that had been pre-planned. There were three of us and the mini-bus was full I believe about 12 of us in total. Our guide was Pam and she was very informative, not only about our destination but about Vegas and the surrounding area. The tour itself was fascinating and a good combination of structured tour time and some free time. Bottled water and small snacks granola bars and pretzels were offered. We were picked up at 12:35 and didn't get back to the hotel until around 5:30 due to traffic...just something to keep in mind if you have plans for later in the evening.

Totally awestruck by the size of the Dam. Our guide James picked us up from our hotel in a very nice luxury MPV. Our journey to the dam took us to Boulder City, the original town where the workers on the dam lived. We then continued on to Lake Mead with James giving us lots of information along the way which was really interesting. At Lake Mead we stopped for photos and James was more than happy to take pictures of us which was nice. We then carried on to the Dam. Its massive. You cant help but be impressed with the engineering that went into it. There is a really interesting museum to look around and a short movie to watch, before then walking along the top of the dam. One side is in Nevada and the other side is in Arizona. The views are stunning. We also walked out onto Memorial Bridge for the iconic photo looking straight onto the dam. Its really high but so worth it. Unfortunately, the elevators were not working been out for a couple of months apparently so we were unable to go down into the dam itself. So we cant say if Megatron is hiding down there or not sorry! On the way back from the dam, James took us to see some Long Horn Sheep in a local park area so we got some good photos of those.
This half-day tour to Hoover Dam was exceptional. Our driver/guide provided lots of information, not only about Hoover Dam, but also about Las Vegas and nearby communities. Traveling with a small group there were just nine on this tour made getting off and on the bus fast, and allowed us to get acquainted with our fellow tour members. It was a very hot day, but we had plenty of cold water, and the temperature in the bus was comfortable. Visiting Hoover Dam is a must for anyone visiting Las Vegas.
Please be advised...do not take anything in your back pack like food!!!! Our wonderful guide Tommy had to take all my snacks back to the bus after I had to run after him. On the day we were there the elevator was broken so the tour did not happen. The shuttle was on time, the driver, Tommy, was informative and the snacks and water were welcomed. We enjoyed the break away from Vegas for the morning and am glad we took it.
Wow, a great trip! Well worth the money. Tony, our driver was phenomenal! Very knowledgeable of the entire area and dam. He answered all questions. We didn’t want to see the dam in a big tour bus. This was exactly what we wanted. Small group with space to move. Tony made sure we were taken care of.
What a fun/informative trip!! Who knew the Hoover Dam was so remarkable in so many ways? A must-see for all travelers.
Really recommend this trip, great value for money. Out guide was amazing, and very friendly and informative, although I can't remember her name. A really nice lady, and made us feel like a little family
Pick up was on time, Tommy introduced himself and explained what the trip would be like. Very informative ride to the dam, pointing out lots of landmarks and sharing the history of the land. At the dam the tour was was equally impressive with plenty of time to explore on your own. I woiuld highly recommend this tour!
Wonderful experience. We were collected from our hotel and joined five other people already on the small air conditioned coach. The traffic wasn't too bad driving out of Las Vegas at 7.30 in the morning. Our guide was very friendly and looked after us well ensuring we had cinnamon rolls and water to drink. He stopped at interesting view points so we could all take photos, chatted to us about the area and talked us through the Hoover Dam tour before we left the coach. We had time to view the turbines inside the dam, walk across the bridge, have coffee and ice-cream and buy souvenirs. We had a good return journey and our guide took us to see long horned sheep before taking us back to our hotels. Highly recommend this small group tour.
Great Trip to Hoover Dam.
Our driver Greg was great, he gave us a lot of information
we would have never know.
Since the 80's, I've had numerous trips to Las Vegas, but never went to Hoover Dam. Finally this year, I decided that even though it probably wouldn't be the most exciting or interesting thing I've ever done, I should probably go ahead and at least do it once so I can mark it off my list. It was FABULOUS!!! and now I'm wishing I had taken the more detailed tour. I'll definitely be back for that! The tour guide and it's a shame I don't remember his name was AWESOME. He was well versed on many topics, and even after taking the flying helicopter tour last year, the only one to be able to add some insight to the gunnery nests on either side of the dam. I do recommend the morning tour if you're going during the summer. This is definitely a Must Do -- and would probably help if you did some reading up on the dam before going so everything you see and do has even more meaning!
Great trip for the price and also a very knowledgeable driver who was extremely helpful.
We thoroughly enjoyed our half day tour of the Hoover Dam - our driver, Tony, was prompt, very personable and knowledgeable about the area, and a great driver as well. He pointed out a many geological features on our way and was a font of historical knowledge as well. Our small group tour with just six people began with cinnamon rolls, cold bottled water and a short rest stop. The tour van was quite comfortable and Tony was great at fielding any questions we had. Even though the day was upwards of 115 degrees, we felt quite comfortable and the tour itself was indoors and air conditioned, with plenty of time to walk around the dam and exhibit halls, which contained footage of the construction of the massive dam project, a historical explanation of its Depression-era work force and a large number of artifacts. Be sure to book the morning tour as opposed to the afternoon tour, as there is so much traffic to this gorgeous site by then that cars must wait for upwards of a mile or more to be checked by Homeland Security before going on to the dam. We would take this tour again in a heartbeat!
This was an awesome tour!!!!! I am sad that I can't remember our drivers name because he was so nice and very into us and the ride to Hoover Dam. We only had a total of 5 people on the bus, but the other two were also from the Dallas area, so we got to talk about lots of places. Our Driver talked to us the whole way showing us places and telling us history. He made sure we knew where we were going for the tour and told us special stuff to take pictures of before we got back on the bus. When he found out we didn't make our tour we were supposed to be on, it was not his fault, he took us to this park to see some rams and drove us around to show us famous people's houses. We didn't make the tour because there were school kids there and since you start the tour below the road, we couldn't see how many people were actually in line. On our way back to the strip, he talked about all of the good restaurants and suggested we try Pinks hot dogs. It was soooo good! The next time we go back to Vegas, we will be doing this tour again, and hopefully we will get the same driver!!!!

Nice tour. Pleasantly surprised how interesting it was. We got to see it from above, on the dam, and inside. Our driver even stopped to show us a herd of big-horned sheep.
Wonderful!!!! This tour was perfect! In the morning, we were picked up by a small shuttle right from our hotel and our driver, Tony, was THE BEST! He really knows his facts and was so kind and considerate. Very informative and helpful. When we arrived at the Hoover Dam we went on our tour. Once done, we then had time to explore the dam and walk all around on our own. After meeting back together, Tony then brought us to the bridge so we could explore that as well. Such an amazing place. You'll have to see it for yourself. Once done, we were shuttled back to our hotel. So happy we chose this tour and had such a wonderful guide. Thank you!!
