Viator Exclusive: Grand Canyon Helicopter Tour with Optional Below-the-Rim Landing and Skywalk Upgrade

This Grand Canyon experience begins with a Las Vegas hotel pickup en route to Henderson Executive Airport just south of the city.

After boarding the aircraft, the 45-minute flight passes over sites like Hoover Dam, a modern marvel of engineering; the aqua waters and sandstone shorelines of Lake Mead; Fortification Hill, an extinct volcano before soaring along the winding path of the mighty Colorado River and into the incredible landscape of the Grand Canyon, one of the seven natural wonders of the world.

Upon landing at the Grand Canyon’s West Rim, enjoy approximately 3.5 hours to explore the various overlooks and highlights in the area. Visit Eagle Point, home of the Grand Canyon Skywalk, a glass walkway nearly 4,000 feet above the floor of the canyon. Upgrade for a ticket to experience the breathtaking view from this unique vantage point.

Then at Guano Point, see the Grand Canyon up close from the top of an old Guano Mine. Hike the side trail to the mine or go up and over the rocky hill to see incredible view from what feels like the top of the world. Also, visit the Hualapai Ranch to go horseback riding (for an additional fee) or enjoy a variety of cowboy entertainment activities, like wagon rides, roping demonstrations and more.

Make sure to take time for lunch at one of the viewpoints, which is included in the price of the tour.

As an added option, take a helicopter flight to the bottom of the Grand Canyon. While hovering high above, swoop down between the canyon’s walls and land on the bottom. Walk around, get an up-close look at the many layers of the interior of the canyon and gain an even greater appreciation of the immensity of this natural wonder.

On the return trip, enjoy more of the sights and sounds from the sky, including the beautiful Las Vegas strip, before a final hotel drop-off.

Notice: There is a maximum capacity of six people per helicopter, plus the pilot. The listed price does not include a $15 (USD) per person fuel surcharge, payable at the time of tour check-in. All passengers 18 years of age and older must present a photo ID at the time of check-in.

Excellent experience. Outstanding views of the canyon and Hoover Dam from the helicopter, awesome to walk out over the canyon rim on the skywalk, and to land at the bottom of the canyon. Helicopter pilot was very good and helpful.

Great trip - Mustang helicopters were really good - excellent helicopters and funny/professional pilot.

The tour was very good and well organised but we had a problem
Myself and my wife were both 65 years old just before we came out to the USA
and when we went on the trip we were told that we had not booked to go down into the
canyon as it was a big trip for us we thought we had booked all in with you and then we had to
pay a further 300 to go down this was money we did not want to spend

Helicopter is definitely the way to go, shaved many hours off a bus tour with the same destinations. A small group of 6 or 7 people under the guidance of a knowledgeable pilot suited me fine. I wanted to get down closer to the Colorado river and look up at the canyon walls, so the optional Below-the-Rim landing was great for that. Skywalk didn't feel as exposed as I thought it would be, so if you are only a little bit afraid of heights, have a go - it felt very safe to me.

From start to finish, this tour was amazing. our pilot was excellent and gave great commentary during the helicopter ride. We landed below the rim which was well worth it, we had time to take photos and enjoy the view before we headed back up! There is a bus service which takes you to the 3 areas. The first being the ranch we didn't get off here we carried on to the second stop to take in the views which were brilliant, but the most spectacular viewing area is Guano point. We had our lunch here, which was very tasty. I would definitely recommend this trip and I would go again myself.

Great helicopter tour from Las Vegas to the Grand Canyon including a visit to the Skywalk and a landing at the base of the canyon. Everything was perfectly organised - from the pick-up at the hotel in the morning to the drop-off in the early afternoon. Highly recommended!

This trip puts the WOW in WOW. First time ever visiting the Grand Canyon and to get to see if via air was even better. We had Capt. Keith flying our helicopter and he was a terrific guide and a highly skilled pilot. Flyovers on the Hoover Dam was a bonus. Flying into the Grand Canyon, the helicopter just gets sucked into the scale of how big it is. Recommend you take the early morning tour to avoid all the tourists coming in by bus as once you get to the landing area for the lookouts and Skywalk, that line can be quite long to get on the bus and you only have so much time at each stop. The Skywalk was a glad I can check it off the bucket list. You can't bring a camera out there, but they will take your photo of you. Pretty nifty to actually walk right out over the canyon. Lots of spots for other photos. Grab your lunch at this stop as the main transportation hub doesn't honor the lunch coupon. The flight down to the canyon floor was probably the best part of the trip. This is the sound of silence. Amazing. Saw it above, below inside, one happy birthday boy.

Extremely well organized!!! I wouldn and #39;t imagine crossing all these distances by bus or missing the views we had. It.wouldn t be the same for sure.the landing below the rim was nice.our pilot Miguel was amazing.Skywalk not advised for those fearing heights!!!extreme sensations.
