© Tourism Tasmania and George Apostolidis

Begin your day with an early morning pickup from your central Launceston hotel in time for an 8.45am departure. Soak up the scenery as you journey through the wild countryside of North East Tasmania.

Along the way, jump out to admire views of the Fingal Valley, pass the farmlands of Lilydale and Scottsdale, stop to visit a lavender farm (depending on the season), and sample fresh oysters at a local oyster farm.

After a delicious picnic lunch (own expense) in Binalong Bay, arrive at the Bay of Fires, where you’ll have free time to stroll along the white sands and take in the stunning landscapes.

Back in Launceston, your tour ends with drop-off at your hotel.

David our tour guide was very knowledgable, thoughtful and generous. On this trip you will visit Bidestowe Lavender Farm, and Lease 65 Oyster Farm. Despite the horrible weather on the day of my trip the photo of Bay of Fire turned out stunning. I highly recommend this trip to everyone, and will definitely do the same tour if I ever come back to Launceston again.

David is a wonderful guide. So knowledgeable about all the different stops and about the history of Tasmania. And very friendly. You get to see a lot of things during this tour and stop at some beautiful beaches. Bring a bathing suit if you want to go for a swim.

A really great day. Our tour guide/bus driver David talked the whole way - there is not a thing that man doesn't know about his home state! He was the most informative of all our tours - great information which set us up really well for the rest of our stay in Launceston and the rest of our tours. Beautiful beaches and quaint seaside towns. Had a great time! Better than trying to drive yourself.
