This was our favorite tour that we went on during our 31 day South American Princess cruise. We booked this tour with some trepidation due to the fact that we had never been in the country nor did we speak the language. We were met on time at the designated meeting spot by Paula who was so sweet, friendly and informative that we felt immediately at ease. We walked to a market where the locals shop and browsed the massive amount of fresh everything while Paula bought some things and we tasted a few samples. Paula then took us to the bus stop where we hopped on very interesting with the locals for the ride to Paula's families' beautiful and spotless home. There in the brightly colored open air kitchen we were taught how to cook, hands on, some delicious local dishes with the best ingredients. Everything was so much fun and comfortable, they were the perfect hostesses while also making us feel at home. We also loved learning how to make Pisco Sours after dinner. We felt absolutely safe everywhere we went with her. We laughed so much and had such a good time we didn't want to leave. When it was time to go she just called us an Uber who came in a new car and brought us safely back to our cruises meeting point. She emailed us recipes for everything we made. I would highly recommend this evening for everyone.

One of the best experiences we had in Lima! It was just the two of us and one other person. Our guide spoke fluent English and took us to a market that you could tell was not frequented by tourists love!. Our guide's mother ran the cooking class and was such a kind soul. I still remember things we made there they sent us a copy of the recipes too and wouldn't trade this experience for anything.

The Lima cooking class was a lot of fun, and a great way to get to know the people and cuisine of Peru. Paula and her mom were wonderful. We made a potato dish, followed by ceviche and pisco sours. All easy to make and delicious. A truly unforgettable evening.

We absolutely enjoyed our experience at the Cusco Culinary Institute. Our Chef, Ingrid, picked us up at our hotel and we walked to the San Pedro Market where we got a great tour of this massive indoor market. We then walked to the Cusco Culinary Institute to partake in a fruit tasting of many Peruvian fruits. After making a variety of Pisco Sours, we cooked a three course Peruvian/Asian fusion meal under the tutelage of Ingred. We had our meal, that was quite delicious, then were delighted with our dessert of Frozen Cheese, a typical Arequipan dish. Thank you Ingrid for a delightful day.

A most enjoyable experience! Paula's Urban Adventures cooking class was one of our Lima highlights! She is a most gracious host and her Mother is a Cooking Angel! We not only came home with some very good recipes, we brought back beautiful memories, and a new found joy for Peruvian people and food! Paula shared her knowledge of local fruits/foods at a mercado and how they were used that was awesome! She was fun and her Mother was very patient and ensured we not only understood the processes, but the meanings of certain techniques as well. A MUST DO in Lima! Excellent tour! The visit to the market was great, especially seeing and learning about local ingredients and foods. Then meeting a local family and doing the class in their home was just outstanding! Our guide Paula shared so much about Peruvian culture, food and Pisco. And introduced us to a wonderful family. Strongly recommend this tour to experience the real Lima!
