Great way to be introduced to the highlights of Alfama. Allowed us to get our bearings.
Traveling a lot and being used to default zombie guides I really enjoyed the personal take on this walking tour. Sofia brought her personal experience and knowledge to the walk and I appreciate her letting us try her local aquantencies. For the ones of you that like beautiful stories, a walk and an even amount of historic curiosities -this is it.
This was a very informative and interesting walking tour. We walked all throughout Alfama and the guide was extremely knowledgeable about history as well as current recommendations for activities.Highly recommend!
Really interesting tour. Fred did an excellent job explaining the history of the area.
This tour was a Ten. Jamie our guide was very knowledgeable, and his English was excellent. I have done this tour on a previous trip, but this one tops them all!
We took this tour with Ronnie, an effervescent and very knowledgeable guide.
She has a wealth of great information to share and knows many of the local
people living in Alfama
The tour lasted some. 3 hours and we would highly recommend
taking this fabulous walk through time!

We had a fabulous walking tour on May 28 to Alfama. It was so interesting, and our guide, Rick?, was terrific in explaining this particular area of Lisbon. The hills are really strenuous, so be sure to wear good sneakers and be prepared to hike. Of course, this was the second walking tour of Lisbon that we had done that day.
His name was ? Ansel can't recall his 1st name at the moment but he was excellent. Highly knowledgeable, approachable, dry humour from England. Went at a reasonable pace, was considerate of those who needed to rest so he'd always arrange to do his talks by a bench or steps where those who needed a rest could get one without disrupting the pace of the tour. He recommended a downtown mom/pop restaurant a couple from the north of Portugal whose food was quite good northern Portuguese comfort food for a very reasonable price!
Excellent tour, guide Yuri was very knowledgeable and friendly. Definitely recommend.
I went on this walking tour with Jaimie, Sandeman's guide. What that man doesn't know about European history and how it weaves into the intricate history of Alfama is probably not worth knowing. He made the whole experience into a story ensuring that we all had a great overview of what we were looking at. I would recommend this walking tour and if you are with Jaimie, you are in for a treat. His English is excellent and he is happy to go off script and answer any question that you have, A wonderful experience and thoroughly to be recommended.
We had a fantastic tour guide! He took us up to see the village of Alfama, which gave us a great flavor of the Moorish culture in bygone days. Lots of walking, which was great! We only had one day to see Lisbon, and this was a great way to spend it.
Excellent tour! Well worth every penny. Our tour guide Jamie was knowlegeable, passionate about Lisbon history, friendly, and professional! He enjoyed answering all our questions and was helpful. We had a great time! It was a very good way to be introduced to Lisboa. Thank you
a great insight to the people and lives of the area by someone from there.

Yuri was a great tour guide. Very informative and friendly. Got to see some local spots and didn't feel overly touristy. Went so quickly, would of happily stayed all day.

Cuco was a very good guide. The pace of the tour was just right. As it happens, we were staying in the Alfama district, so we enjoyed getting to know more about our neighbourhood. We appreciated the stops in out-of-the-way places for a glass of ginjha and a sweet found only at that particular location.
Good overview of Alfama highlights and Fado music. Did not go inside Se Cathedral, so I did that on my own. Passed by St. George's Castle but did not see much of the outside. Feedback is that it's not worth going in, so I did not. I had limited time at Alfama so I'm glad I did this walking tour.
Our guide, Fred, was exceptional. HIs English was excellent and his knowledge of the area was, too. Amazingly, he memorized all of our names there were 12 of us. He seemed interested in each of us individually, and kept the pace moderate so all could keep up. However, this tour involves steep hills and stairs, so one should be in fairly good condition in order to complete it. ONe of our members could not make it to the top and had to drop out.
