Arrabida and Sesimbra Small-Group Day Trip from Lisbon with Wine Tasting

Meet your guide in central Lisbon for your Arrabida and Sesimbra small-group guided day trip. Hop aboard your air-conditioned minivan and drive off. Cruise along the Vasco da Gama Bridge, the longest bridge in Europe spanning 11 miles (17 km) over the Tagus River. Hear how it was developed for the 1998 Lisbon Universal Exposition on your way to visit stunning Pamela Castle. From the castle, savor a wine tasting of four delectable wines at a local winery.

Next, head to the northern shore of the Sado River and discover the beauty of Arrabida Natural Park. Climb to the tallest peak at 1,640 feet (500 meters) and gaze over the verdant park towards the Atlantic. Coast down to sea level and lose yourself in the serenity of Portinho da Arrabida Beach. Slip into swim gear and enjoy a refreshing swim (weather permitting).

Then, stop for a fresh seafood lunch (own expense) in the charming fishing town of Sesimbra. Spend more free time strolling along lively streets or continue for a walk along golden beaches.

Alongside your guide, explore one of Portugal’s oldest wineries, Casa Museu Jose Maria da Fonseca. After learning about wine production you’re ready for a wine tasting. Enjoy two regional wines with delicious tastes and aromatic bodies as you relax on the property.

Bust out your camera one more time as you stopover at Cristo Rei Sanctuary, a shrine dedicated to the Sacred Heart of Jesus Christ which was inaugurated in 1959. Then, capture a panoramic view of Lisbon from afar. Finally, hop aboard your minivan and return to central Lisbon where your tour ends.

A nice tour to explore the country side and vin-yards, beautiful views and we had the chance to visit one of the hand made tile factories, which was pretty interesting. If you are interested in knowing more about how wine is made and type of wines of that region it is recommended.

A good mix of wine and sightseeing. The vineyards were completely different, which offered a nice contrast. Luis was a great guide, very happy to answer questions.

The Arrabida and Sesimbra day tour was a great trip. Great views, visits to two completely different wineries but both very picturesque, a fun seaside town for lunch - what more can you ask in a day trip. As a bonus, the sun was shining and the flowers were blooming, I also enjoyed the final stop at the Christ statue. Our guide Jose was incredible at keeping us informed and corralled.

We had such a lovely day out - we tasted quite a few glasses of wine in Arrabida and some more famous wines in Sesimbra. Amazing views over the whole of Lisbon to end a wonderful trip. Would highly recommend to anyone wanting to see the surrounding areas of Lisbon.

Really enjoyable tour. Our tourguide Gus was very knowledgeable, about the areas we visited and Portugal in general. He answered lots of questions from everyone. We especially enjoyed the small vineyard, you will pick up amazing wine here at bargain prices! There are also 5 tastings here included as part of the tour.

This was a great tour. The wineries were fantastic and so interesting to see everything. Our tour guide was very informative and gave us a great play-by-play of the surroundings as we were driving. If you want to see another side of Portugal this is a great tour to go on. From seaside village, to mountains, and wineries, this tour has it all.

VERY well organized and prompt start. The guide was very friendly, helpful and knowledgeable on the history and culture of the different areas. The wines we tasted were fair to decent but I am a bit of a wine snob. It was good to see the small family owned wineries versus the very large Fonseca operation. The fishing town was beautiful and plenty to see and do. If you're in Lisbon and want to spend about 6 hours out of the city I would highly recommend this tour.
