HOHO buses always good value. Lisbon buildings not in the best state of repair though..... a sign of the country's economy I guess.
Very good tour. Like most HoHo tours they cover the tourist spots. We opted first for the Red route ,we boarded just opposite where our shop was docked so very convenient.
Minor nuisance was when we waited to catch a bus going on the Blue route later in the day and realised after waiting 40 minutes that the bus doesn't collect at the stop it drops you off at at later in the day . It services stops close to the ships early in the day to facilitate passengers and for drop off ,but not to start a tour later in the day.
it was very nice experience to see most important sightseen in Lisbon with amazing different languages translations.
A good way to begin to savor the city. I also recommend using the subway after taking this tour.
Was the best way to see Lisbon befor we started seeing any thing closer.
Tour went smoothly. Overall good experience with good English speaking guide. He was knowledgeable and answered all questions well.
We would recommend!
It was a great way to see Lisbon, going through the old and new city. All of the most popular places were covered.
Muito legal. Como dica, vá diretamente à Praça Marquês do Pobal para iniciar o tour. De lá é bem fácil identificar o ônibus.
Very good method to know about a city. Cheap, fast, interesting and convenient.
Excellent- very worthwhile tour. Since we were on a cruise with about 3100 passengers and 3 other ships arrived at about the same time, it was very trying to get on the bus. The lines at the pick up point were very long and we had to wait for another bus to arrive. Also, we found it confusing at the initial bus stop because another hop on off red bus was at the same pick up point. We learned after waiting in line for several minutes that the tour Company also has the same service. The only identifying mark is a small emblem in the lower front of the bus.
The sound system worked great. There are maps on the bus identifying the stops and the points of interest. The driver was helpful and friendly. Because of our schedule we could not find enough time to take the Blue route. The red Route took at least 1 and a half hours. We find the hop on hop off bus is a good way to familiarize yourself with a new city.
Hop-On, Hop-Off bus is very much as you would expect it. Given that some of the sites are a bit more out of the city area eg Torre de Belem, this is good for a 1-day experience. After that, you can walk to most of the stuff around the city area.
The pass was good for 48 hours, the bus was across the street from where we docked. We arrived a day early due to bad weather, and the tour bus took us for a drive through the city. A big advantage to having a voucher with Viator is you don't have to worry about having euros. We just showed our voucher and we were ready to use the hop on hop off for 2 days.
Best way to see the city. The tour took you to all the famous and interesting sights. Bus stop was just outside our hotel. Very convenient...
Excellent way to see the whole city with the ease of jumping on and off buses.
Excellent tour made even better by the fabulous weather.
Easy to use and really convenient.
Enjoyed the tour. Had the same problem with this tour as with EVERY tour with hop on hop off through Europe. It is not clear where to catch the bus. No maps that can be seen are printed on the internet and often if there is a location listed- it is so general as to not be able to be found. I would not buy tickets in advance for any of the tours. Look up the tours locally and buy the ticket on the bus. There are several companies and you should go with the first one you find, not do a scavenger hunt for a bus in a strange city.
This tour was amazing, taking in all aspects of Lisbon. The price was very reasonable too.
Great way to see Lisbon without having to walk the hills. The city has some sites that can't be reached by walking, so this is the best way to see them. Validate the 48 hour pass early in the morning to get maximum use.
Took the Hop-on/Hop-off tour bus for 2 days. The best time to use these buses is first thing in the morning, since it's not as busy and things are alittle less hectic. The afternoon brings in a lot more people and crowds, the buses are more packed. Your paper voucher is all that's needed for the driver. In Lisbon vs. Madrid for instance, the driver is the only employee on the bus no other attendant. So you give your voucher to the bus driver at any bus stop you decide to hop-on. The main thing on the voucher is the BR booking reference code that he inputs into his handheld ticket device that will authorize/confirm the BR code with HQ. You then get a paper ticket printout as your ticket for the 2 days. The driver does not call out the upcoming bus stops, so you need to pay attention to where you are and the map that they give you also listen to the audio tour which helps you to identify locations on the map and where you are, so you know when to hop-off. Pretty simple. The bus routes do overlap, mainly at the Marques de Pombal Square and the train station to Cascais etc among others. The bus does stop for awhile at these two main stops to pickup/dropoff passengers and wait for people too. The Red route is the more popular and frequent route with more people and stops. The Blue route is less frequent, but does take you up the coast to where the Lisbon World Fair was held years ago. Great area to visit, alittle more modern looking area. Lisbon is really charming European architecture, with funiculars and street cars. Pretty cool. The buses give you a great overview of the city and you can decide where to spend most of your time. Highly recommend, great service. Would use again.
