This tour offered by Joaquim Lopes is a must do. The guy was professional , enthusiastic and itineary proivded was just nice for a day to cover all the must see in lisbon. Actually he also offered tour to Sintra and other places, we would highliy recommened to join the tour offered by him. Just take note that he will only send you the confirmation for the pick up the day before, so just wait for his email.
Our guide Jack was excellent. He provided us with a lot of history and information about day to day life. We are traveling with 3 kids ages 8, 11 and 13 and they also liked him a lot. I strongly recommend him.
Our guide, Miguel, picked us up at our hotel and drove us to the first stop, Monument to the Revolution of April 25. After that we continue the tour to Lisbon Cathedral and Church of St. Anthony. We then drove across the river to Sanctuary of Christ the King. After lunch, Miguel did a very good job telling us about the history and meaning behind Belém Tower, Monument to the Discoveries and Jerónimos Monastery. The tour was ended with Pastéis de Belém treats!

This was a great day out-the time flew by and we fitted so much in!!
We were collected from just outside our hotel, as arranged, exactly on time and taken to a viewpoint overlooking the castle where our fabulous guide, Joaquim, gave us a lot of really interesting history into the 'growth' of Lisbon. We visited the church on the site of the birth place of Saint Antonio and the 'Se' cathedral. All the while we were driving around our guide gave us information about the buildings we passed and the history of Lisbon, its 'rulers' and Portugal in general-and boy did he know a lot! We visited the 'free' water aqua duct, though didn't go on it, drove up liberation avenue, passing all the 5 hotels and Ronaldo's apartment building! We crossed the river on the 'golden gate' bridge to the statue of 'Christ', visited an old wooden ship that has been restored, headed up the coast to the most amazing stretch of golden beach at Costa Caparica, where we watched the surfers and ate a lunch of fish, not included in the tour cost. We crossed back over the river by ferry to visit Belem Tower, Jeronimos Monastery and church and bought hot custard tarts from the original bakery founded by a monk from the monastery, all complete with more history lessons from our guide.
All in all it was a great day. We were the only 4 people booked that day so had a really personal experience. Joaquim was excellent, funny and very knowledgeable and really made the day for us. I would definitely recommend this tour.
Great tour! If it’s first trip to Lisbon, this tour is a must do. I would suggest doing this tour on your first day. You’ll see the highlights and get a great layout of the city.
This tour was amazing!
Had a very informative and pleasant tour with Jouaquim our guide. Enjoyed the many places of interest and Jouaquim helped to make it a special day.
Louis was a fabulous, knowledgeable and generous guide. We were quite fortunate to have him to ourselves--- just my husband and I. We saw all the important sites and in addition Louis included some happy surprises eg driving across the bridge, a visit to the beach and more. It was a totally delightful day!!!! The tour was way beyond our expectations! We thoroughly recommend this tour.
