This was a great day out-the time flew by and we fitted so much in!!
We were collected from just outside our hotel, as arranged, exactly on time and taken to a viewpoint overlooking the castle where our fabulous guide, Joaquim, gave us a lot of really interesting history into the 'growth' of Lisbon. We visited the church on the site of the birth place of Saint Antonio and the 'Se' cathedral. All the while we were driving around our guide gave us information about the buildings we passed and the history of Lisbon, its 'rulers' and Portugal in general-and boy did he know a lot! We visited the 'free' water aqua duct, though didn't go on it, drove up liberation avenue, passing all the 5 hotels and Ronaldo's apartment building! We crossed the river on the 'golden gate' bridge to the statue of 'Christ', visited an old wooden ship that has been restored, headed up the coast to the most amazing stretch of golden beach at Costa Caparica, where we watched the surfers and ate a lunch of fish, not included in the tour cost. We crossed back over the river by ferry to visit Belem Tower, Jeronimos Monastery and church and bought hot custard tarts from the original bakery founded by a monk from the monastery, all complete with more history lessons from our guide.
All in all it was a great day. We were the only 4 people booked that day so had a really personal experience. Joaquim was excellent, funny and very knowledgeable and really made the day for us. I would definitely recommend this tour.
Great tour! If it’s first trip to Lisbon, this tour is a must do. I would suggest doing this tour on your first day. You’ll see the highlights and get a great layout of the city.
Had a very informative and pleasant tour with Jouaquim our guide. Enjoyed the many places of interest and Jouaquim helped to make it a special day.
Louis was a fabulous, knowledgeable and generous guide. We were quite fortunate to have him to ourselves--- just my husband and I. We saw all the important sites and in addition Louis included some happy surprises eg driving across the bridge, a visit to the beach and more. It was a totally delightful day!!!! The tour was way beyond our expectations! We thoroughly recommend this tour.
Awesome day trip, we got to see so many sites of interest. Had a wonderful time.
the tour guide was great.
It was so good to see something different oaths tour, Its' great tour.
This is the perfect tour if you only have 1 day in Lisbon. You get to see famous attractions and sights on both sides, have lunch by the beach and a ferry ride back to Belem. Great value for money! Highly recommended!
Excellent 9 hour tour made especially enjoyable by Driver/Guide Jacquain. He is a winner.
I saw everything possible in one day. It like all hip-hop buses routes combine in one, professional guide helpful in every way. Also, he knows great place for lunch.
This was a great tour, Alex, our tour guide was informative and a joy to spend a day learning about Lisbon! 5 Stars!
The tour guide, Alex was excellent! very knowledgeable of the city.
Alex provided an educational experience.

There were only three of us on the tour and it was fantastic. We spent the whole day sight seeing and got to see more than just Lisbon. We did have a couple of hours free time near a beach, but that was fine as I enjoyed a leisurely lunch and stroll.
Relaxing tour that bring us to see all we wanted to see. Unfortunately, river cruise was not available that day.
Overall, the tour was fine. Alex was a good tour guide and very knowledgeable and answered all our questions with enthusiasm.
The van was a little outdated and things in the interior were failing apart. The last part of the tour in Costa da Caparica is not worth the time. Kind of run down and shady.
The tour was jam packed with informative facts and history and all the stops allowed for a good look around and plenty of photo opportunities. There was an excellent range of different sightseeing aspects across a very wide area of Lisbon . Would highly recommend this tour.
Lovely day and I learned a lot and saw a lot in one day. It is a best way to explore the city . I highly recommend.
Our guide was very knowledgeable and we saw many sights in Lisbon. I think that he went above and beyond any expectation. It was a good intro to the city and you will have a good idea of where you want to revisit to explore further. My difficulty came with confusion in the booking to begin with. The original company that took the reservation didn't not communicate well at all and in addition had mistakenly booked me with a group bound for Sintra. I was in touch with Viator support about this and they also could not reach the tour company. At the last minute the original tour found another company to take me on the city tour which as I said was very good.
tour was nice, but the van we were traveling in was breaking down, nothing like whiplash for 8 hours
This tour was not bad. Our tour guide was a nice man but we had a mixup at the start. Long story short - he resolved the matter and went out of his way to fix it. He spoke to us in English and to the others in the group in Portuguese and so that was nice. The only thing that made me give a better rating is that we really rushed through Lisbon city in itself. We just drove through and didnt get out to explore. Also, we were really excited to go to the St George castle but there was no parking available and so it was skipped. Hence, we didn't get a chance to do everything that the tour description suggested. Otherwise, it was a decent experience.
What a scam. The guide showed up in a small sedan and crammed 4 of us my husband and me and another couple we didn't know for an all day tour. It was extremely unpleasant and awkward for all of us we are all fairly tall, normal sized people. For the price we paid, that alone was unacceptable. But it would've been tolerable if our guide made an effort to make the tour interesting and/or informative. He either didn't know more than a few basic facts or just didn't care to share them, I honestly couldn't say which. At times, he seemed lost in thought and if we asked whose statue is that?, he'd say the name and offer nothing more. When I book these tours, I don't just want a convenient way to get to venues which is certainly good, but most of all, I pay for a good guide who will be able to convey important historic or cultural information, a local flair is a bonus. We got none of that, he was just weak and/or lazy. Lisbon is a very charming city, worth visiting, just please book someone else as your tour guide.
This could have been a good tour but for some reason traffic or poor logistical planning our pick up was 2 hours late. I was the only member of the group that spoke English. The excursion I paid for was supposed to include a river tour, which this did not. The entire day was rushed and we spent most of it in the van.
