My Mother and I went on a full-day tour of Fatima, Nazare, Batalha, and Obidos with our guide, Carolina. We met with our small group (of six) at a designated spot. Carolina was at the pick-up site promptly. Carolina provided a brief history of Lisbon on the way to our first destination, pointing out pertinent monuments along the way. During our entire tour, Carolina provided a wealth of knowledge about each site. Her love for history was clearly evident. She had a wealth of knowledge and managed to answer all of my questions. Carolina was very patient, courteous, kind, and funny. Her warm and gentle demeanor made the trip worth every penny. She also took us to see Batalha on the way to Obidos. I fell in love with Obidos. It is a beautiful and colorful little town. I just wish we had more time to spend there. I wholeheartedly hope that the company will provide a day tour focused solely on Obidos (I loved it that much). Carolina guided us to some locations that would not have been on our radar-but those turned out to be some of our fondest memories. We stopped in Nazare and enjoyed a lovely lunch at a place Carolina recommended. Carolina is quite personable and took the time to get to know our small group. As a fellow history enthusiast, I was impressed and delighted with her knowledge of history, culture, art, and religion. Carolina offered to take photos for us so we could cherish these memories. Carolina treated us to Ginjinha in a little chocolate cup. If you have w chance, try it abs but a few bottles from the local merchants. I personally think thin the Ginjinha in Obidos is better than Lisbon’s. We even had time to stop for a cappuccino and some delightful pastel da natas.
We hope to come back to Portugal soon.
Muito obrigada, Carolina
