Great tour! DO IT!

A great way to learn about and see Portugal We had two great guides as it is a two day tour. Ricardo and Joao Ferraro were very friendly and had great knowledge and insight on all our stops. The van was very comfortable and they were safe and courteous drivers. They always made sure we had a pleasant experience and were always prompt on picking us up. We use Viator all the time in Europe, and by far this has been the most pleasant and informative trip. These two guys were the best. Highly recommended! If you have the time do the two day tour do it.

Rude driver

Nothing against this company or this tour excursion but we did not have a good experience with driver/ tour guide Miguel. On day 1, we had an excellent experience with our guide Nunu who brought us to Sintra and Cascais. He was fun, laid back and polite. There’s 8 in the group and we all had fun. On day 2 our driver and guide Miguel was rigid, strict and impolite. I had never had anybody treat me like I was in elementary school being scolded by my teacher. this was the Nazare , Fatima and Obidos trip. He asked the group if we wanted to go to a candle factory for 30 min then to the Sanctuary in Fatima or spend more time in Fatima we chose the latter - half of the group (4) were Catholic and of course we were looking forward to Fatima rather than a candle factory (where he probably will get a commission ) - he was probably pissed and shortened our visit to Fatima to 60 min despite not going to candle factory. 4 of us were 8-10 min late - and I apologized to the driver and the group - I mentioned that we had to wait for the mass to be over so we can see and pray briefly to the 3 children’s tomb in front of the church since you are not allowed to go if the mass is going on - he had his company calling me asking where I am within 8 min - I’m already walking towards him by this time but my other friend was buying a rosary - I told her husband to Get her not to buy as the driver is very upset that we were 10 min late - this set a bad tone the entire time- but I tried to forget that he was rude so I can enjoy the trip ; our friends that we met the day before were also in Fatima ( with different guide and they said they were there for 90 min instead of 60) we even saw their guide bring them close to the tree where the Virgin Mary appeared to the 3 children - good thing we were listening if not we would have missed that since Miguel dropped us off in the parking lot with no direction at all we basically felt rushed! He added the town of Bathala to this trip where we saw another church — this was not what we signed up for( see title above ) He rattled off facts like he was a teacher and quizzed all his passengers like we were his students! Not my type of guide - inflexible, impolite and only wants things to go his way - maybe some people are ok with this but 4 of us were not So please request that you don’t get this guide just don’t want others to have this negative experience

Great Trip

This two day tour was amazing. We had a different guide each day and they were both professional, knowledgeable, and lots of fun. The first day visiting Cascais, Cabo da Roca, and Sintra was different from the second day when we visited Fatima, Nazare, and Obidos. Learned so much about Portugal and had a fabulous time. Highly recommend!

This trip was a wonderful experience.

Pedro was our tour guide for Sintra and Cascais. Rui was our tour guide to Fátima, Nazaré, and Óbidos. Both trips were wonderful. The staff at Inside Lisbon has engineered excellent small-group tours that allows its customers to customize their own itineraries with the allotted time provided at each destination. Because our tour language was Spanish, my family met Spanish and Argentine nationals, which allowed us to have the fun experience of communicating and cracking jokes in our native language while travelling though central Portugal. Please be advised that in Sintra, due to overtourism, expect varying wait times. During your visit, I highly recommend Quinta da Regaleira over the Palácio Nacional de Sintra. Both are beautiful but the prior is more stunning than the latter. The only drawback I felt was during our second trip to Fátima, Nazaré, and Óbidos. Our tour guide said that the Sanctuary of Fátima, unlike the Sanctuary of Our Lady of Lourdes, did not sell religious articles on-site. They do...and some items were cheaper than the ones at the factory that we were taken to, namely the figurines. In my opinion, the tour guide should have clarified by saying that the items in the factory are more diverse than those at the sanctuary and filing the tax-free paperwork is easier at the factory than the sanctuary. The misinformation made me feel ill at ease. On a personal note, if I could change one aspect of our family trip, it would be lunch in Nazaré. The beach town has a fabulous beach and, if you come prepared with bathing gear and towels, you can enjoy it as opposed to eat lunch, which was good but a waste of time.

Nunu and Mar were very good and engaging. They help us understood the significance of the places and the main things to see. Small group and almost feels like a semi-private tour.

We just got back from a couples trip to Lisbon. The two-day tour really gives you a taste of Portugal. Lisbon is a beautiful city but these day trips give you a more fulsome taste of the country's history and lifestyles of the locals. We'd highly recommend the tour. Just the right amount of time at each stop. So many great pictures and memories.

We like very much Cascais, Fatima, Nazare and Obidos visits. Sintra may be tough for someone with health problem as you need to climb up to the tower. We really enjoyed this tour.

Each of these places has its own story, charm and beauty--the interior of the Pena Palace in Sintra is stunning. But I would not have been able to fully enjoy and appreciate them without my personable and knowledgable guides, Joao and Gustavo. They immeasurably enhanced my experience with their extensive knowledge of the history and culture of each place and with their friendly and engaging personalities. A big thanks to them!
