Had a great time with our guide visiting a couple of wineries and an establishment that makes liquors. Added highlight was a visit to an outfit that hand makes tiles. Particularly enjoyed tasting the liquors.

Paul the tour guide was great. He made sure that we well received to all of the itinerary. Very informative and accommodating. We had a great time. We had a buffet lunch in a very good place and we recommend that you use this place in the future in all of the tours to Setabul.

Excellent full day tour. Rod was a fantastic guide with interesting observations not only related to the tour but about Lisbon and Portugal as well. He was very knowledgeable regarding the 3 winery stops and very familiar with each winery and either the owners or other personnel at each location. The last stop was the most interesting in that the owner sat down with us for over an hour talking about the history of the winery and previous uses of the building, her plans to grow the business and the Setubal region as well. He was very accommodating and flexible. We made an unscheduled stop at a tile manufacturer where the owners gave us a tour of the operation from start to finish. Overall, an excellent day. Highly recommend the tour.

Trip was fantastic! Our tour guide Rodrigo i.e. Rod let us personalize the day however we wanted. All of the wineries were great and the spirit distiller had some great products / jams. What made the day even better was the authentic Portuguese lunch recommended by Rod and even a stop at a local tile factory on the way home. Will be recommending this trip to anyone traveling to Lisbon!

Great tour and great host/guide. Joao is an extremely knowledgeable, personable, and enjoyable. Joao took us to several wineries/vineyards including a liquor producing establishment, which has a very interesting story. It was very pleasing to ask Joao questions and receive fulfilling answers about Portugal, other destinations including additional countries he tours, and anything that came to mind during our time with him. The fact that it is a private tour two people and not a small group tour made it even better. I would rate more than 5 out of 5 if I could.

Our wine tour with Joao was amazing!! He picked us up at the apartment we were staying at, took us to three great wineries one of which had liquors and delicious sheep cheese and jams, and even took a detour and took us to a tile factory when he heard we loved the tiles we were seeing around Lisbon. Highly recommend!! Had such a wonderful time.

The tour guide we had was actually the owner himself. It was great to hear about his story and why ended up starting his own business. He is very passionate about about the tours and is full of many facts and knowledge about Portgual and the Setubal wine region. He was able to answer my questions with lots of detail. His English is well spoken. The wine tours itself were amazing with full glass pours and at your own pace. There was no rush and he personally knew the staff and owners of the wineries which was a nice touch. During the day my sister had a little too much wine and he actually ran out to get her some food - service is king here. The wineries we visited from large, medium, and small really showcase the wine making in this region and give you a great dive into Wines from Setubal. Additionally, we sampled artisan cheeses and liqueurs which was a great touch. I will definitely take another tour with this company again. I had asked how he picked the wineries and he and is wife go to the wineries and get to know them and change them up regularly. He gets no commission from these visits to the wineries. I highly recommend!

Fantastic day out with Rodrigo. Picked up on time at our hotel and had an amazing day. We couldn't fault one thing, the wineries he took us to were great, the tastings of wine, cheese, bread, jams was super and we went to one of his local bakeries for coffee and custard tarts. Rodrigo also said if we would like to go or see anything else just to tell him as he was with us for as long as we wanted the day to last. First class service and a must do trip if you are in Lisbon.

Rod was exceptional. I did this tour as a solo traveler. Her was very flexible in terms of timing and even worked in an extra stop to Christ the redeemer. The wineries selected were excellent and showed several different styles which was nice to see. Highly recommend.

Wonderful day with Joao. Very personable and informative. He made our wine tasting day very enjoyable. We were also looking to possibly visit a tile factory and the hotel did not know of one. We told Joao and he knew of one and made a side trip to take us there. We saw how the tiles were made and also had a nice shop in which to purchase the tiles. Thanks for a great day.

The tour was very nice, and actually private -- which was unexpected as I thought it was only semi-private -- certainly a nice bonus! Rodrigo was very knowledgeable and helpful. Both my husband and I were a bit ill from food poisoning so Rodrigo recommended some tea to help us soothe our stomachs. José Maria da Fonseca was neat to learn about the winery and their special process, but their wine tasting was uninviting and the wine was barely palatable -- not our favorite stop! We next went to Quinta de Alcube which was FANTASTIC. The setting was beautiful and we enjoyed the outdoors as well as the wine. The winery has a small 'zoo' including goats, ostrich, and a really awesome bunny. We stopped for a local lunch which was great! Lima Fortuna was a very nice stop with lots of tasty treats and strong liquors to try. I enjoyed the jams the most. Rodrigo also recommended to us a local Fado place that was a real treat!

From the start when booking our experience with Viator was wonderful. I booked this wine tasting tour for my husbands 60th birthday. We were on a Mediterranean cruise and stopping in Lisbon on his birthday. We werent interested in any of the excursions that the ship offered so I searched the internet and found the wine tasting tour through Viator. Joao was very responsive and answered all my questions about the tour. He even asked if they could provide a surprise birthday cake during the day. I felt that I had made a good decision in my booking. Unfortunately, the day was very raining but Paolo was waiting for us with umbrella in hand when we disembarked the ship. The van was clean and comfortable and Paolo a very educated tour guide. He knew so much about the area and shared this information during our ride to the wineries. At the wineries we were treated very special by Paolo and the winery staff and Paolo proved to be knowledgeable about the history of the wineries and the wines produced there. To top off the day Paolo took us to a little local fish restaurant where they cooked their daily catch on an outside wood grill. The restaurant was very clean and quaint and the meal there probably the best of our 12 day vacation, not to mention so inexpensive. Thank you so much to Joao and Paolo for making my husbands 60th birthday and our time in Lisbon very special.

Rodrigo is a knowledgeable, friendly and energetic tour guide! We've been on a lot of tours in many cities around the world and Rodrigo and this company really stand out. We learned more about Lisbon, Setubal and wine from Rodrigo than we could have by reading typical city guide books. Right when he picked us up at our AirBnB he asked us about our interests and what we wanted to see / do to customize the tour to our liking. He went above and beyond! He does a fantastic job of mixing local history with personal anecdotes to make the tour very engaging. Highly recommend Rodrigo for any of the tours the company offers. The wine tour itself was well thought out, whether you're a wine connoisseur or just looking to do something new, this tour has something you will enjoy. The company selects three wineries of different sizes and approaches - from a large, well-known producer to a new family-run distillery. At the distillery we were treated to a lunch of local delights including fresh bread, cheese, jams and sweets. Check this company and Rodrigo out, you won't be disappointed!

We had a great time with Rodrigo on our tour. It was a great mix of wines, locations and environments. Rodrigo did everything to make sure that our comfort and enjoyment were his top priority and made sure that we did everything we wanted while giving us background on Portugal overall. I highly recommend this tour!

We had an absolutely brilliant day with our guide João, who was exceptionally friendly, and easy to spend the day with. His knowledge of the city, as well as the Portuguese wine industry as a whole was outstanding and helped us to enjoy our experience more.

We only had a short time in Portugal, and are really glad we spent one of our days on this tour.
Absolutely must recommend you should take this tour. The wines and liqueurs tasted were awesome, and the day could not have gone better!

A wonderful Tour made extra special by our guide Paulo! We were picked up at our Hotel in a Van and Immediately felt very comfortable with Paulo who was born and raised in Lisbon. It was a Memorable day driving to Setubal and stopping first at the Fonseca Winery where we learned alot bout the making of Muscatel and Port Wines and a tasting! Then onto the next Winery Quinta de Alcube on the countryside. Then to the Azeitaon Tile, then to an Amazing Lunch in a tiny place in Setubal, of Local grilled fish! Then another Winery Fortina, tasting along the way. Also enjoyed the Setubal Bay Area as well! We loved this tour!

João and this tour were amazing! We visited two wineries and one liquor producer. João was incredibly knowledgeable about the wines and liquors. He was incredibly friendly and willing to answer all of our questions not just about the wines, but about the region, history of Lisbon, life, etc. : Because the tour was private, we were able to spend as long as we wanted at each location which was very nice. This tour was certainly one of the highlights of our trip to Lisbon, and we highly recommend it!

We had a wonderful trip with Joao. He was very personable and knowledgeable of the wine regions. Every place we went he was treated like family. If you want a first class tour that is catered to you I would definitely wholeheartedly recommend Joao. For example my wife and I were talking about the wonderful tiles we were seeing, but the tourist shops all had the same things we wanted something alittle different original etc. Well on the drive back he pulled off the road and took us to alittle artisan shop that produced decorative tiles. Excellent quality tiles at that. It definitely wasn't on any tourist maps, but the crew there took alot of pride in their work and took the time to explain how they created the tiles etc. We had a wonderful day never felt rushed tasted some delicious wines and cheeses.

João Our guide was Fantastic, not only was he extremely knowledgeable, friendly and outgoing but also went out of his way during the tour including returning to an earlier location after the tour so we could purchase a bottle of wine we really liked.

I really can not recommend this tour enough, it was extremely personal and interactive and outstanding value. João made us very comfortable. From the beginning he removed any worries about wine tasting being only for the sophisticated and as result even though I normally am not a wine enthusiast I have come away from this with a new appreciation.

In all the locations he brought us to the staff were extremely friendly, especially the Sofia, the owner of Lima Fortuna who, along with João, spent over an hour after our tasting casually talking to us about her experiences not only in distilling but also their experiences in running a business in Portugal.

Thank you João

Our experience on this tour was incredible! Paulo was an exceptional guide. His passion for his country and knowledge of the region, history, and culture is unmatched. Paulo must be the best guide in all of Portugal. He also had great relationships with the people at the locations we visited and made sure we were treated like royalty. He even anticipated what we would like base on our conversations and comments and added stops to enhance the experience. Lastly, the countryside of Portugal is the most beautiful in the world and its people are warm and inviting. 5 stars are not enough - this tour and Paulo deserve 10 stars!

This is a tour not to be missed. Joao, the guide, was incredibly knowledgeable about Portugal, the history, and of course the wine. My friend and I were lucky to have a personal tour which allowed Joao to bring us to places outside of the wineries. He did set up a great tasting of not just wine, but also ports and various spirits. We truly had a wonderful time on this locals' focused tour, away from tourists, getting the inside scoop and treatment.
