This was by far the best tour we took on our entire trip. Eddy and Andre were absolutely wonderful tour guides with a great sense of humor. Eddy was our van driver and he was extremely knowledgeable about not only the history of what we were seeing, but even more in depth about Portugal and so many other subjects. I can't say enough about these guys. We could not have had a better ending to our European vacation. We wish we could give them 6 stars!!! Eddy is the best tour guide!!!!!

Our tour was great, we got our pick up on time, our tour guide had internet in his van which was great, he was super friendly and very informative. Our trip was 6 months ago so I forgot his name : he took us to some great spots, gave us a lot of time to explore and see the beauty that is sintra. It was a stress free day not having to worry about where to go, where to park, what trains to take etc, he took care of everything for us and our group was just 8 ppl so it was the perfect size. I would highly recommend this tour if you are looking to see the main attractions in sintra, it was lovely!

We usually travel independently, but occasionally book day trips. On an August, 2017, trip to Portugal, we booked a the Sintra Full Day Tour -- and were very glad we did. We chose this tour partly because it was limited to eight guests. Our guide, Miguel, picked up five Spanish-speaking guests in Lisbon and then picked the two of us up at our Lisbon hotel. Thankfully, he spoke both Spanish and English fluently because the Spanish guests spoke not a word of English, and we spoke no Spanish. We had visited the National Palace the day before and Miguel took us to see Pena Palace and Quinta da Regaleira. Without Miguel, we'd never have found either palace. The area is mountainous and hilly with narrow winding roads. There are buses, but the waits at stopping points are long and crowded. Prior to each palace, Miguel talked some about the palace we were about to visit. He then arranged a meeting place and time, and he was right on target as to the timing. We then visited Cabo Roca, the westernmost point of Continental Europe and Cacais, now a wealthy fishing village. Miguel advised us on arranging visits to other sites that we enjoyed later in our visit to Sintra.

There are other palaces -- Monserette and a Moorish palace, for example -- that many visitors would enjoy. These are minor palaces and usually not on any tour. I know that Miguel is familiar with these palaces, and perhaps he could offer another tour that would include them. Miguel is very capable, an excellent guide, and a great ambassador for his country. We loved Portugal -- partly because of the friendly, helpful, and English-speaking people we met during our independent travel -- and would return again in a heartbeat.

Wonderful and knowledgeable guide. Great trip. We went to Sintra and saw the castle, then down the hill for another castle or the coastal cliffs two options. Then we went and had a wonderful and leisurely lunch. After that, to the western continental Europe. Then on to Cascais for a beautiful setting sun before returning to our hotel. While riding in the van, we heard much about the culture and history of Portugal. Couldnt had been much better.

I rarely take official tours when I travel - I prefer to read about a location and tour it on my own schedule - but the Sintra tour from Viator was superb and comes highly recommended.
Our expert and friendly tour guide picked us up at our accommodation and mesmerized us with knowledge of Portugal, Lisbon and the coastal jewel Cascais on the way to Sintra.
After a quick stop at the picturesque 'westernmost spot in Europe' it was on to Sintra - where the spectacular day just kept getting better.
Due to the guide's connections we were able to swiftly enter the Sintra attractions - and we toured them in amazement thanks to the guide's information and insights.
We were whisked back to our accommodation at the end of the day.
Five stars!
