What You Can Expect

Sintra Small Group Tour from Lisbon

View from the Seteais Palace to the Pena Palace

In the morning, you’ll be collected from your Lisbon hotel in an air-conditioned vehicle equipped with Wi-Fi. During the short journey to Sintra, your guide provides a historical overview of the picturesque region.

Your first stop is the UNESCO-listed Pena National Palace, a glorious confection of color perched on the summit of Sintra mountain. Take a tour of the Romantic monument with your guide, not forgetting to enjoy the botanical beauty of its gardens.

Next, head to Quinta da Regaleira and enter its stunning grounds. The UNESCO-listed site features a subterranean grotto, elaborately carved buildings, and lush gardens, enshrouded in an air of Gothic mystery.

In the historic center of Sintra, you’ll have time to purchase lunch and sample a traditional Portuguese pastry. Explore independently during free time, and then reconvene with your guide for the journey to Cabo da Roca, a dramatic collection of cliffs that signify Europe’s westernmost point.

During the journey back to your Lisbon hotel, you’ll pass the coastal town of Cascais and the rugged Boca da Inferno (Hell’s Mouth) rock formation. Bid your guide farewell after hotel drop-off.

Very punctual on time and because of small group tour, we got good attention and replies to our questions.

Our tour was great. We got to see some very unique attractions outside of Lisbon. Our tour guide was very professional and sweet. And this tour includes entrance ticket to most places so it is definitely worth the price. The one thing I would improve about this tour is for the tour guide should give more history about the places that we visit. Since our tour guide did not enter the historical places with us we didn't get to learn much about the history of those places.

Andre was an amazing tour guide! Very knowledgeable about Lisbon and the spots visited on the tour and did a great job of uniting the tour group. Something to note is that this tour provides entrance into the locations but not a tour so we would be left to explore for a while on your own and then meet up with your tour group again to transition spots. Andre gave us great food options and amazing pastries that are traditional in Sintra! Highly recommend!

Filipa, our tour guide, was AMAZING! I believe a large part of the reason we had such an extraordinary experience on this trip is because of her. Also, since this was a small tour up to 8 people it allowed for more intimate, personalized conversation and enabled us to navigate ithe bus more easily in crowded spaces. Filipa taught us a few words in Portuguese and provided some invaluable insight on her culture. side note: She also recommended two insanely delicious restaurants in Lisbon: Ghandi Palace, where I had the best Indian food of my life, and Psi, a vegatarian restaurant that was equally good. Every location we visited was well worth our time. If you want to go to Sintra, you MUST book this tour! Thanks for everything Filipa!

Our guide Filipa was great. She shared history, culture and great places to eat lunch. We enjoyed this all day tour and highly recommend doing it. The monuments are fabulous and the countryside/ocean fantastic. We hope to come back to Portugal to see more of this country.
