What a FABULOUS tour! Filipa was a great guide. On-time pickup, no transportation issues. The drive and sights were amazing. Filipa provided a lot of information about the sights, as well as the history of Portugal and the region. Very knowledgeable. Highly recommend this tour!

This tour is excellent. It gets very good write ups and it deserves these. Andre was a great tour guide, very organised, client focussed, knowledgeable and very proud of Portugal. Sintra is a wonderful destination, not that far from Lisbon, but just so much to see and do. We did two palaces Pen and the Sintra Palace and they were different and both worth doing the castle tours. The history and culture in this area is very interesting and the scenery is beautiful. We went to the Cabo da Roca on the beautiful coastline and then to the lovely upmarket seaside town of Cascais which could be a day tour on its own. Make sure if you go here you eat the Gelato at Santini's.

If you are in Lisbon and want to see the wonders outside of the city I highly recommend this tour. It's being arranged for small groups - kind of a boutique tour - and it makes it more special.
Andre was our guide and he was very knowledgeable about Lisbon and Portugal and also very professional. He picked us up from the hotel and took us around the must see places around Sintra as explained in the tour information. He also gave us good recommendations on where and what to eat.
So, if you are looking for a tour with a guide you can trust and also eat well, you should book this one!

We honestly could not fault this tour if we tried. Portuguese For a Day Sintra tour was the perfect end to our holiday in Lisbon. Andre was a fabulous guide who had a contagious positive energy and detailed knowledge about Lisbon and every single place we visited. Communication from start to finish was seamless, pickup close to our accommodation and drop us off again at the end of the day. Wishing we had booked the tour sooner into our trip rather than at the end, as we would have definitely booked another tour with Portuguese For a Day.

This was a fantastic trip with Andre. We had a very small group which made the experience personable and easy. We could tell Andre has a lot of knowledge and passion for history and loved all the info he shared while in the van. This tour doesn't include the cost of some of the entries, but allows you to choose what you want to participate in. You see a lot in one day, the colorful Pena palace, the really unique Regalares grounds and palace, Sintra town, the west coast, and a seaside town. Andre was a fantastic guide and would love to do another tour with Portuguese for a Day again! Thanks Andre!

Andrea is a great guide - knowledgeable, friendly and accommodating. We were first into Pena Park, avoiding the crowds later in the day. We could walk through the castles without waiting to see what we wanted to see. He provided choices for places to eat lunch in Sintra village, invited us to try his favorite pastry shop in the village - yummy!! He is a careful driver.

It would have been helpful if he had been able to guide us through the castles in Sintra given his extensive knowledge of Portugal.

The tour includes travelling along the country's beautiful coastline, stopping at the western most point of Europe.

Would we go with Andrea again? Yes!

A great day!

Our tour was amazing, and Filipa was an incredible guide! She safely and efficiently got us to all of the stops and provided interesting history and color along the way. We had a minor issue at the very end of the trip when another traveler suffered an injury while walking around Cascais. Filipa tended to the other traveler, drove us back to our hotel, and then returned to the hospital in Cascais to make sure the other traveler was OK. In addition to being a great guide, she made sure all of her clients felt safe and were taken care of. I definitely recommend booking this activity!

Our trip to Sintra was very enjoyable. Our driver/tour guide, David, was personable, knowledgeable and very entertaining. We had a great day, one of the highlights of our trip to Lisbon.
The weather in Sintra is definitely cooler than in Lisbon and sturdy shoes are recommended.

The tour of Sintra with add-ons to Cabo da Roca and Cascais was extremely well organized, stimulating, and simply VERY satisfying. The majority of the time was spent in Sintra with Caba and Cascais really being a gentle part of the return journey. In Sintra there was ample time to explore the Palace of Pena and the Quinta da Regaleira. Both visits were substantial appetizers for a return visit! The Quinta, a place of fantasy, has made me use that word more frugally and accurately!

What brought excellence to this tour was our guide, Filipa, a worthy 'ambassador' for Portugal. Gentle but firm, most knowledgeable and patient, and very willing to talk about the wider contexts of Portuguese life, always in an educational and balanced way. In a way she gave us a socio-cultural course in past and contemporary Portugal... and from the moments as we drove out of Lisbon. What I particularly admired was her ability to be conscious of us all - there were five in our own family group and a couple. The larger group had the more questions and observations with me, apologetically, being a wee bit dominant. However, Filipa, was conscious of all of us, and easily brought the quieter into the conversation. She also was immensely practical and organized... getting us in Sintra to the two main sites before the crowds ate up space and time.... quite masterful in her driving too! And on a Monday when tourist Lisbon seems to evacuate to Sintra.... One suggestion - if the reader can choose another weekday, perhaps that would be a wise decision?... I know I am late with this, but a sincere and warm THANK YOU Filipa.

It was a FULL day excursion but our guide/driver - Andre0 was so laid back and relaxed that he made it look so simple and managed to fit in the day ALL the attractions mentioned. He also provided maps for ALL sites, as well as umbrellas as it rained. The rain did not stop us from enjoying every second of the excursion. Thank you Andre for an unforgettable day in Poertugal! I HIGHLY RECOMMEND Andre and will surely use his services at my next visit to Lisbon!

This tour covered a lot of ground in one day and provided hotel pick up and drop off, which was a bonus. The guide pointed us in the right direction and gave us advice, but did not accompany us to any of the buildings or places we visited. She did provide good advice.I particularly enjoyed the time at the Royal Palace and in the town of Cascais, as well as the brief time we had to look at the city center when we had time for lunch and shipping. Well worth the price.

Would highly recommend; this is a great tour and worth every penny. The day starts with a pick up at the hotel and straight to Pena Palace to beat the rush. Filipa was very laid back but also kept us on schedule; great tour guide and very knowledgeable.

David and Phillippe were fantastic, so knowledgeable but so enjoyable. They made the day very interesting and fun. We were even singing YMCA by the Village People at one point. Great time by all of us 6 in the van besides our guides. Great deal for the money as well.

Highly recommend this tour. Andre from Portuguese For a Day, was not only a great driver on the narrow streets, but very knowledgeable and personable.
We covered a lot of territory but never felt rushed. Traveling with a small group gave us an opportunity to spend time with people from other countries It was a wonderful day and a great tour.

This was a full day trip from Lisbon to Sintra. The local provider was Portuguese for a Day and they were awesome. It was a small group only 8 of us is a small van, very casual. Andre, our guide, was fabulous. He had a great itinerary planned. We toured 2 castles/palaces, spent some time in the medieval village exploring the little streets and shops and for lunch. Andre recommended a couple of must-try spots like a little bakery/café for a famous Portuguese pillow pastry, and then a GInja place to sample the traditional Portuguese cherry-flavored liquor out of a chocolate cup. We drove along the Atlantic coast and stopped at Cabo da Roca, the western most point of mainland Europe - amazing photo ops! Then another stop in a seaside town, Cascais, for Santini's famous and delicious ice cream. It was a great day. Andre was wonderful - knowledgable and generous with his information and history. It was like driving around with a friend as they show you their favorite spots in their city. Highly recommend this tour..... and the photos of the amazing Pena Palace are breathtaking!
