Why Travelers Choose This Tour

Enjoy ample free time in Sintra on this tour—more than most tours allow.
Meet your guide in central Lisbon for a memorable small-group guided day trip to Sintra and Cascais. Hop aboard your air-conditioned minivan and travel to Sintra. First, stop at Pena Park and see the diversity of plants and trees line the beautiful trails. Then, voyage to a spectacular vantage point of the colorful Pena National Palace (Palacio da Pena).

Continue to Pena National Palace, the most famous of Sintra’s monuments, located at the top of Sintra Mountain. Enjoy this 19th-century Romanticist castle that looks and feels like a fairy tale. Admire its eclectic Neo-Manueline, Neo-Gothic and Neo-Renaissance styles as you head inside. Observe the extravagant bedrooms that used to serve as a summer residence for the royal family.

Depart the palace and stroll with your guide to the UNESCO World Heritage Site of Sintra. Spend some free time to have lunch or discover the town’s forested palaces like Sintra National Palace, a medieval royal palace occupied from the 15th to 19th centuries (own expense). Check out the local fare with tastes of aqueijada or travesseiro, two scrumptious and traditional pastries.

Meet back at your coach and travel past Quinta da Regaleira and the Palace of Monserrate on the way to Roca Cape (Cabo da Roca). Then, whip out your camera for great photos at the rocky bluffs which are Europe’s westernmost point. Briefly, visit Guincho Beach where surfers shred the gnar and then cruise by Hell’s Mouth (Boca do Inferno). Finally, make your way to Cascais’ bay for a walk.

In the former fishing town of Cascais, peruse the narrow streets of this trendy vacation getaway with your guide. Check out classic white, terracotta-roofed houses as you make your way to the beach. Then, bask in the sun as you tuck your toes into the golden sands and gaze over the expansive Atlantic Ocean.

Along the journey back to central Lisbon, where your tour concludes, enjoy pristine views of the scenic town of Estoril.

Castle of Sintra
Sintra-tour
, Jul 2020
If you want to make this tour, now is the right moment. The groups are very small (we were with 2 persons only) and everywhere it is incredibly quiet. The castle of Sintra is a must-do, very nice place. The cities of Sintra and Cascais were more moderate, you can see them everywere around costal areas.

A lovely day seeing some of the sights outside Lisbon! Veronica was an amazing guide, and we learned a lot about the area and the history. They were also very well prepared with good safety measures and had plans in place to maintain distance and take care for Covid-19. Our family had a great day, and we would strongly recommend this trip to everyone.

The experience was great but thought there would be more involvement with the tour guide. Needed the person to show us around more and provide more insight and guidance at Fatima. Disappointed that we were along with a person that came from a restricted zone in Italy. Especially during this uncertain time with Covaid19.

Perfect amount of places with different impressions. Beaches, rocks, castles - a day full of joy. Best moment was our driver singing a fado song while enjoying the scenery outside.

Our tour guide David was excellent the average rating is purely based on the content of the trip. As there is a fair bit of hilly walking I would not recommend this trip for the elderly or those who have limited mobility

Just forget the name of the tour guide. From my experience, this is a "must see" destination. The guide was knowledgeable, nice, helpful and protective. Pick up, drop off on time as planned. Quite convenient when visiting Sintra since our Priority tickets were ready. We did not have to wait. Cascai was so beautiful with the beach and downtown. My daughter was not feeling well. He let my daughter sit in front and showed us where to buy sea sick pills. Good job Mr tour guide, and Thank you very much.

It was a great day trip where our guide Rui made it even more enjoyable. He took us to the different places before the big buses started to arrive so we were able to see everything listed in the description of the trip with no crowds. Sintra and Cascais are very nice places to visit and the road to get there was also beatiful.
