Small group tour to Sintra, Pena Palace, Regaleira, Cabo da Roca and Cascais

Amazing day out, packed full! Highlights were the Pena palace and Quinta do regaleira which Caio our guide really recommended and we were so glad! It was a beautiful visit full of follies, grottos and a well you walked down. We went to Cabo do Roca and also Cascais where we had a wonderful seafood platter at one of the restaurants Caio recommended. We couldn’t have fit half of what we did if we had done this trip ourselves so it was well worth it!

I was really looking forward to this tour; however, I found myself disappointed. This tour is essentially a driver taking you to the locations offering a few words about the history of the place while in transit. You have to pay entrance fees and you have no guide; therefore, you really don't learn anything about what you are seeing. While in the Pene Palace and other locations, I was surrounded by groups being ushered by their tour guides explaining the signficance of the structures. I was so incredibly disappointed. The cost of the tour was not inexpensive either. I really thought this was going to be a guided tour instead of being dropped off at each place.

I love the tour, the guy super friendly snd explained the town a little bit and we can go on our own that's the best thing.

We did this trip as a private group of 7. Our driver, Josef, was very knowledgeable and passionate about showing his group a good time. He was sharing information throughout the drive, kind towards children, and patient. This trip is highly recommended!

The reason why I rate this tour low is not the tour and what you could see, because I see some great reviews! That’s why I bought it…but it was the guide. As other reviewers mention. I think I got the “guide” who is just just a driver. Has no knowledge or interest in talking about Portugal other than that he spent most of his life in the hotel business. So he will point out this and that 5 star hotel. But as you drive under the incredibly impressive Aquas Livres and ask OMG….What’s that? Oh that’s nothing, up the hill here is where they play soccer. Like i care about a 2020 soccer stadium when we are looking at 200 year old engineering masterpiece. Every stop was k. Out your go. “Look around Be back in 30. Traffic bad. Last night I got home at 9 pm.” So we get out and look at something I’m not sure what is until in read and review what it was after I get back to the hotel. Biggest waste of time was when we went to Sentra. Which is a crazy cool town. I again knew nothing about Sentra so when he spit us out and said your here for two hours…go buy a Pina palace ticket over there to avoid the line later….and eat. Pick you up at 2. ( we think he went home to his house and ate lunch as he said he lived in Sentra ) Anyway, We did just that. Bought ticket and ate. 30 minutes before pick up I look up the hill and relise Moor caste is above us?? What’s that? Man that looks amazing! So run halfway way up but have to turn back to get back for pick up. We then went to Pina palace which was great and got in really fast….but not any faster then everyone else….as there was ZERO in line to buy a ticket! Then we drive back to hotel. So I ask? Hey what about that Quinta da Regaleira? He says that was in Sintra!! Waaaaa theee fuuuuck we all say! Like that was to be a highlight. That is like the highlight of the tour so was really disappointed that in Sintra, he didnt at least say hey, “I’m going home, if you want to see what you paid for, run up the hill to moors caste and for sure see Quinta da Regaleira. This is where it is. Told us nothing. So next day. I caught the 4.50€ ROUND TRIP train fare from Lisbon back to Sentra and had an amazing day hiking up Moor castle and seeing Quinta da Regaleira. Worst part on top of the 56€ Tour was I tipped him 5€ cause I felt bad about covid. Was a waste of a day and money. I forget his name but nice guy speaks 5 languages and was in hotel biz for 20 years…but an absolute garbage tour guide. Go back to Marriott my friend.

David was a WONDERFUL tour guide that was well educated, articulated, and very nice. Took us with ease and answered all our questions. also recommended many great places to eat and visit along our tour as well. Would definitely recommend David.

Had a great day exploring Pena Palace, Regaleira, and Cabo da Roca with Caio. Caio was personable and humorous. He gave us a brief history of each location then gave plenty of time to explore on our own. He remained in good contact with the group via text to keep us on schedule. He had great recommendations for traditional pastries in Sintra as well as restaurants for lunch in the seaside town of Cascais. We had a great time with Caio and would highly recommend the tour.

Absolutely amazing experience! Well worth it especially if you want to see a lot of Lisbon in a small amount of time :)

Very convenient option to get around and see all of the places. Good price for what you experience. The guide could provide additional information during the tour.
