Our tour guide viv and the driver vinny were great, worth every penny. Funny scouse humour, they made our trip, they were also extremely iinformative, would definitely recommend this trip xxxx
Liverpool is actually a very clean and interesting City. Visiting all the City sights via Open top bus was perfect. So much to see and do but it was easy to get off and on. The Cathedral tower was a strenuous climb to the top but the bells were interesting and views were great. We loved taking the Beatles Story Museum tour.....so great history of the Fab 4! The River Cruise was a disappointment after standing in a long line for almost an hour. The engines were so loud you could not hear any narration and it was just a brief trip up and across the river. I visited the U-Boat Museum but it was so-so. I would skip this part of the excursion. We missed seeing Paul McCartney by a day and all the statues of the Beatles were interesting. I would have liked to have gone to the art museum but didn't have enough time.
Great tour! The busses ran every 10 minutes and there were many places to hop on and hop off. The Cathedral Tower Tour was a nice bonus as you would normally have to pay a separate fee to do that part.
We didn't take as much advantage of this as we could have. But we packed too much into our trip. The river cruise gives you a beautiful view of the city and a little history along the way. It takes about 50 minutes. The bus tours goes around and there are lots of places to get on/off - we just rode it all thru to get the highlights. The Cathedral is fantastic, but we didn't take advantage of the full ticket here. This is a great way to get an overview of Liverpool.
Great value, basically ended up with 4 attractions as the U Boat Museum was included with the River Cruise, very good value and all parts of the ticket were greatly enjoyed by us all. Good historical commentary on boat, very entertaining guide on bus and the Cathedral Tower tour was amazing with brilliant views across Liverpool. Fully recommend ! :
It was our first visit to Liverpool, the Bus City Tour was great. The narrated tour was very good and the Cathedral Tower provided a panoramic view of all Liverpool. The architecture and history were very impressive-worth seeing. The U534 tour was disappointing due to the condition of the submarine. Liverpool's seaport is beautiful they have upgraded the port with an amusement park, wonderful shops and restaurants. A long, accessible pedestrian walkway runs along the port. We really enjoyed our tour of Liverpool.
Buses run hourly so takes a long time to get anywhere. Cathedral Tower closes 4.30 and costs 7 which is included but it's free entry to cathedral. Catholic cathedral not included.
The bus stop is a long way from the cathedral. Last bus 5pm.
Ferry very good and U boat experience.
All in all over priced. But a great weekend away staying in the Albert dock.
Our Liverpool excursion was excellent. The ferry across the Mersey, perfect. The bus excursion was delightful, and although I didn't make it to the top of the Cathedral, claustrophobia, my wife and I thought the cathedral was beautiful, and even enjoyed a delightful lunch on the grounds. We did view the embroidery exhibit at the Cathedral. Liverpool, and the Beatles history was just right for us.
