Our tour was great. Our driver/guide was helpful with information and history. Our day was entertaining, with enough activity to satisfy us. The caves were amazing the coastal city was lovely. Our guide told us what was special to buy. Wonderful day and a great investment.
Skocjan Caves are really worth a visit and Piran is a nice coastal town.
Can't say enough - 10 stars! Luka was an engaging guide and driver. The small group size - no more than 8 - allows for personalized experience and flexibility. Perfect Slovenian sampler - you mountains, farmland and seaside - such variety in a small country. Skocjan was otherworldly and Piran enchanting!
Great guide and would recommend the tour if you want to pack in seeing a lot of different landscapes within limited time, and without the hassle of public transport. The Skocjan Caves were an incredible highlight, and we had a lot of fun stepping into the beaut, clear Adriatic Sea whilst in Piran!
Great guide and great trip with Roundabout Tours! Our guide/driver was local, friendly, extremely knowledgeable, and a great conversationalist... able to add insights/history/facts into our drive, relevant to the conversations happening and to the towns/sights we visited. The caves were AMAZING, seeing the castle was very cool, and Piran was a great little town plenty of time to go for a swim and eat some fresh seafood in a cafe. Highly recommend!
Amazing range of scenery with an excellent, friendly guide. Highly recommended. A long day, but not rushed.

Absolutely awesome tour, which encompasses everything we wanted to see by the coast, the beach/water, food etc... Great guide, well organised and very friendly. Highly recommended. Could have spent another hour at the coast though...
I booked this tour because I wanted to visit the Skocjan caves and to see Piran. Time was restricted for me, so a tour, rather than using Slovenia's public transport system made sense.
I'm so glad I did book this. The day just worked out really well, from the visit to Predjama castle to the amazing caves, to the hours spent in Piran.
Our guide was very friendly, knowledgeable and interesting.
The only disappointment was that I didn't pack a towel and swim shorts to take a dip in the beautiful, inviting Adriatic. But obviously, that's my fault, not the tour operator's.
I'd highly recommend this tour to anyone thinking of booking it.
It was a lovely day with a good mix of things to see. Our driver and guide, Sanjin was very friendly and informative. Predjama castle was interesting but it would have been good to see inside a little bit. The karst prosciutto and wine tasting was a tasty rest stop. Pirañ on the coast was probably the highlight. A pretty little coastal town. I wish I had taken my swimming costumes as the water looked so inviting.
Great trip. Loads to see, fabulous guide and plenty of time at each stop.
If I would sum into one statement this trip, I will say, I would go back again!. Firstly, the tour accommodates only up to 8 people for everyone's convenience so it's almost practically a private trip. Second, our tour guide, Tjasa was excellent and have never fallen short of considering everyone's needs and request. Third, the coverage of the tour was good enough to give us a taste of another region of Slovenia. The phase has a well-balance of activities from relaxed Predjama/Piran/Lipica stable to active Skocjan cave. I cannot recommend enough this tour!
It was a hot day and the caves were perfect! We had a nice small group and plenty of time for pictures and stops. It was a great excursion. Piran was also gorgeous, but again, it was a really hot day. We had a good amount of free time, which was nice. Our driver/guide was also very knowledgeable and friendly.
Wonderful day out. Extremely knowledgeable and very interesting Guide Ambrosh who gave us loads of info and answered our many questions. He was flexible too and adapted to the small group's wishes- only four of us in the group. He kindly took us to spectacular viewpoints and was careful and considerate in his driving when we went through a thunderstorm heading back to Ljubljana. Caves were spectacular- especially the underground canyon- almost magical with the lighting. Coastal town Piran was very pretty, with plenty of choice for lunch and time for photos and sightseeing.
This trip was very fun and worth it! I was with my 12 and 14 year old children, and I was concerned that they might be bored on an 11 hour tour. I should not have worried. There was enough going on that they really kept moving. This trip gave us a much better cave Skocjan Caves than the 'train' experience we had the day before. The Karst prosciutto and wine, with all the explanations were just lovely and not to miss. My kids loved the infused water and prosciutto. When we got to Piran, the swimming was fantastic, and the whole day just went too fast! I could have done without seeing the horses in the field we saw them in Vienna, but we didn't have enough time in Pilan to do the sea wall and swim after lunch! The swimming was just too nice. Luca was a great host, and had great local insights to everything from ancient history to where to eat today. Very personable, even though we had more than 8 in our group that day. I need to find out where to get Elderflowers in the US!
If you don't have a lot of days in Eslovenia, this tour will give you a great glimpse of this beautiful country. From the Skocjan Caves to the coastal town of Piran, our guide Mojca told us about the history of the country and its traditions. It was a wonderful experience that is highly recommendable.

Our tour guide with Roundabout travel was Luka and just 4 people on the day trip. Very pleasant day and prompt morning pickup. Luka was very informative and interesting and very flexible in the overall arrangements for the day. The Skokjan caves were awesome. Shame that the cave guide was so miserable and photography is not allowed whilst inside the cave itself. I would recommend this tour and Roundabout travel.
We had a great experience with this tour. Luka was a great guide and provided a lot of interesting information along the way. I would definitely suggest this tour if you're looking to experience a variety of what Slovenia offers in one day.
Fabulous trip with our guide and driver Anamarija. She had some great information to give us on our journey and all the places we visited were amazing!
This tour was wonderful! I left Slovenia with such an appreciation for the natural beauty and people here.
Really great day trip!! Adam was so informative and fun to be with. This is a great way to see more of the country if you don't have a car. Highly recommended!!!
The second must-do trip if you're visiting Slovenia the first one being the tour of the lakes. Really glad we chose to go to Skocjan Caves rather than Postojna Caves, as although I'm sure the latter is great too, the remoteness and scale of the former is mind-blowing! The stop at the castle was nice for getting pretty pictures, likewise the opportunity to see the horses. I could have easily spend half a day strolling around Piran, but the time allocated still proved to be enough to enjoy the highlights. Loved it!
