First stop - Stonehenge. It was brilliant and we avoided most of the crowd. Next stop- Salisbury. The tour was on our own for the Cathedral and we viewed the Magna Carta. Bath was the last stop and it was beautiful. We toured the Roman bath house on our own with an audio tour. We were able to enjoy wonderful pizza and ice cream before boarding the bus. We plan to go back to Bath for a longer stay. The guide and driver did a great job! We covered lots of ground in one day. Glad we booked this tour.

David was quite knowledgeable and took us on our journey!
We enjoyed the sites very much. The bus was very comfortable. We were given enough time to explore. The guide though knowledgeable, her presentation was rote and uninspired.
We had to hurry at each destination in order to fit all 3 sites in. It was disappointing to rush through Bath because there was so much information that I had skipped over. It was not ideal but it accomplished the goal of seeing all 3 sites. Pretty much what I expected.
I had really been looking forward to this trip, but unfortunately it turned out to be the worst tour that I have ever been on.
There are a couple of reasons why it was a disappointment, not least of which was my interaction with the unsympathetic Golden Tours.
Originally, I had booked the tour as a present for my boyfriend on Sunday the 23rd of October. A week before the tour, I emailed the company to confirm the meet up time in Victoria. They sent me a link, which stated that we had to be at the Golden Tours Victoria office at 8:45. On the morning of the tour, our commute into London was delayed because of a cancelled train, delayed bus etc. At 7:55, I called the company to inform them that according to Google Maps I would only arrive at the venue at 8:48. I asked them whether they would be able to hold the bus for me for 3 MINUTES. I was informed that they would NOT be able to do so and that my best bet would be to go to the office in Gloucester Road, as the bus was scheduled to depart from there at 9:00 and that they MAY be able to hold the bus for me there for approximately 5 minutes. I looked up the route on Google Maps and discovered that the earliest I would be able to arrive there would be 9:10 - 10 MINUTES after the scheduled departure time. I relayed this information, but was again told that going to Gloucester Road would be the best thing to do, though they were not able to assure me that the bus would wait for me.
Upon exiting the train station, my boyfriend and I RAN to the Gloucester Road office and arrived at 9:06 4 minutes earlier than the estimated arrival time. We were told that the bus had left at 9:02!
The bus had left Victoria at approximately 8:43, arrived at Gloucester Road early and the bus driver was not willing to wait for us as the tour had a tight schedule and they were not prepared to inconvenience the other paying customers.
We were not given a refund. Our only consolation, besides a free Hop-On-Hop-Off tour which also turned out to be a disappointment, because they had no Japanese translation and my boyfriend cannot speak English was that we would be able to book ANOTHER tour at a 50 discount.
After careful consideration, we decided to do so in an attempt to enjoy the last few days of my boyfriend's visit. Come Wednesday the 26th of October we arrived at the Victoria office at 8:30. Plenty of time to spare. And then.... The tour left at 9:06!!!!! We departed from Gloucester Road at 9:21!!!!
How could a tour that was not willing to wait for us 3 MINUTES over the scheduled departure time 3 days ago, now be leaving THIS late?! We were stunned.
In terms of the actual tour, the schedule was indeed tight. We only had about 45 minutes to an hour to spend at each site. We missed the Abbey in Bath because it closed at 17:00 and our arrival had been delayed by a traffic jam nobody's fault, but it certainly didn't help the mood that day.
Additionally, I was let down by the lunch. Paying the student price of 89 per person, I was expecting a little more than a bag of crisps, a cookie and a subway roll with nothing but lettuce, cucumber and green pepper. There may have been a slice of cheese.....
We did not even have time to buy dinner at a supermarket before leaving Bath and heading back to London.
To top everything off, we were not dropped back at Victoria, but at Gloucester Road. Because of all the traffic delays, the bus driver had exceeded his hours for the day and was not able to drive us to the final stop.
The things that went wrong on the actual day were nobody's fault and I do not blame the tour guide, who was lovely and sweet, nor the bus driver, who had to put up with that awful traffic. However, I would not recommend this tour as the schedule is too tightly packed, the lunch sub-par, and the company unsympathetic and impersonal.
