To be honest now that I have done this tour on both the main tour companies Big Bus and the Original they are very much the same. There is little difference. Both have a good range of stops, live commentary is always entertaining and the optional walking tours are great! An added bonus is if one of the stops is near your hotel to save on tubing:
My mom and I had a great time on this tour once we were able to finally find the location of this bus. I just kept asking people until we found it. The attendant who waits at the stop was rude, but the driver and our tour guide Alex were fantastic! We went around 5pm and it was a great day for photos and a tour. Highly recommend
Other than the sights which were as per the brochure the stand out was Ollie the tour guide. He was extremely knowledgable. He delivered the information in a relaxed and friendly manner. I'm sure each tour though giving the same detail was totally different. He was just brilliant and we were very impressed. Great guy and great job!
We had only one day to explore the city and wanted to see all of the main highlights. This is the way to go! You can get on and off whenever you want and go explore. We never waited more than 15 minutes for a new one to arrive. It saved us a ton of time and it is a great value. We also just stayed on the bus for quite some time just to go through the city and get a good overview of the people and neighborhoods for the next time we will be back when we have more time. There was good narration as well so we also learned some interesting facts about the city.
Great way to see London! The free rain ponchos were a great help tooo! Got to see alot but missed out on the free walking tours. If you want to see alot and take advantage of the free walking tours and river cruise, I suggest the multiple day tour. There just not enough hours in the day to do it all
This is a great way to get around when you don't know the city. I was alone and felt very safe using the hop on/hop off bus. However allow more time going from one place to another. There can be traffic or construction issues that slow down the tour. I started at Buckingham Palace to see the changing of the guards. I also planned on going to the Tower of London. It took quite awhile to get from the Palace to the Tower. I felt a little rushed at the Tower.
Great way to see all the sights in london and our guide was awesome!! Use this as a perfect way to get around the city!
A great way to visit the sights of London at your own pace and without the hassle of driving or the expense of getting a cab. The live and recorded narrations along the way were most informative. We bought the 48 hour pass and it was plenty of time to see what we wanted. Also enjoyed the included river boat ride and Buckingham Palace walking tour!

Having used Hop-On Hop-Off Tours in many parts of the world I would rate this as one of the best. Regular timetable, great stops, friendly staff
Great way to get an overview of London. We had a Live commentator which was even better. He was very informative and funny.
Be sure to board early for the last bus as it might leave you stranded. Plan to board at least 30 minutes before the last bus time.
it is amazing. I really enjoyed this tour. Driver always helped if you had a question. The advantage of this tour is that you can take it whenever you want and there are a lot of buses during the day.
Good way to see London! We enjoyed staying on the bus and then taking another route and seeing even more!
Loved the tour, especially the night tour. Buses were frequent and easy to find stops. Allowed us to explore all of London with ease.
Excellent value and a must if you want to quickly get the lay of the land. We hopped on and didn't hop off for 4 hours!
Everyone in my family loved this tour, since you're seated and comfortable the whole time, but roaming London and seeing the sights. Guide was very lively and informative Alexandra, and we learned about the places we wanted to visit more afterward. It was a good deal and included three free walking tours and a Thames River cruise. Unfortunately, traffic was so bad that day that we weren't able to avail of everything.
This was a really great tour because it was easy to get on and off at so many great locations! Much faster and easier than trying to get around on your own using the public transportation system. Using the underground isn't hard if you are used to using the system, but this tour takes you to all the major sites and neighborhoods with commentary to boot. We used it all day to get across the city and back again. I would recommend using this for any first timer to London.
Loved the hop on/hop off 48 hour bus tour. We saw all the sites and could get out and investigate where ever we wanted. Loved the boat tour up to Greenwich. But the best was the walking tour for the changing of the guard at Buckingham Palace! What a treat. Our guide got us to all the best spots at exactly the right times. Awesome on every count!
Not enough time to see all attraction we lost the boat ride because closes at 5 but all excelent
This is a fantastic way to get an overview of London, and of course, you can hop on and hop off, exploring areas that most interest you, and re-joining the bus later at any time. I bought the package that had the river cruise only 10 minutes, but very enjoyable and the Night Time Tour. London lit up at night has a whole new magic. I highly recommend this tour.
this is sooo worth it for first timers. the free walking tour and river cruise were bonuses. shout out to BIG STEVE our walking tour guide for taking the extra mile to show us around even after the tour
