The State Rooms are lovely. The tour is well worth going on. What they don't tell you is that when you buy your ticket, youw are really getting avoucher. You then have to go to the ticket office, stand in a long line to swap your voucher for a real ticket. Then you have to go back at your allotted time (they would not let us get in line for that until 15 minutes before the time) and wait in that line until you can get in. That took another 40 minutes. Had we not accidently found out about the exchanging of the voucher for tickets and odne it earlier, we would probably not have gotten in. The tour lasts about 2.5 hours and we probably spent an additonal hour and a half waiting in line.
Special interesting very well shown and explained. A very very long queue and the fact we bought a head didn't help at all!! We had to wait twice for a long time like the people who didn't buy at all!! Since I was with my 85 old mother that was very hard and infuriating!! There should be a different queue for people with vouchers
Tour was great. Saw a lot more of the Palace than last time I went 20 years ago. Very enjoyable.
Only drawback was using Viator was not necessary nor of any benefit, as you still have to get in the ticket line and exchange the pass for tickets. All went smoothly.
