Fantastic time I would do this tour again. I had no idea that Dover had a Castle.
This tour was wonderful! The tour guide was very sweet and Dover was gorgeous! We got very lucky to go on a day with nice weather. Try to plan your trip on a dry day if you can, but Dover is beautiful nonetheless.
Great bus ride we appreciated the information Les and Manon gave us. It was more relaxed than other trips we took. We had enough time for these 3 visits: Cliffs of Dover, Dover Castle and Canterbury.
I was very excited to visit Canterbury Cathedral and it lived up to its billing. As a Cathedral it is a near equal of Westminster Abby but not as crowded. The town of Canterbury was a very enjoyable town to visit and find lunch. Walking the path over the White Cliffs of Dover was fun despite some rain. What surprised me was how cool Dover Castle was! The castle looks just like castle should! I didn't know that there are major tunnels beneath the castle and these were used by the British military in WWII. We took the tunnel tour of the RAF hospital and it was seriously cool!
Wonderful! We left in the rain, had a stop on the way to Dover, and toured Dover picking up our guide. We visited the the Dover Castle and had ample time to explore the grounds and tour the WWII tunnels. We then bus briefly to the White Cliffs and walked to a wonderful spot to photograph and explore. From there we spent the rest of the day in Canterbury shopping, having tea, and exploring. A very good experience as all the Viator excisions have been and I would not hesitate to book with them again. The only way it could have been better was to be picked up at our hotel we had a ten minute walk to the pick-up point. But I would do the trip again. Well done!
Well organised trip with a group of around 15 friendly people.
I loved Dover Castle, it's so much to do there that we had to choose between visiting the medieval part with the royal appartments and regiment museum and a guided tour of the tunnels from WW2. I chose the first option and was very happy with my choice. Afterwards, we went to the White Cliffs for a spectacular view of the sea and France. The last stop was in Canterbury, where we visited the cathedral. As I had already seen it before, I spent little time there, instead opting to go to Beaney Gallery free and the Heritage museum free with National Art pass, where I found out a lot of things about the history of the town and the famous people living there.
The weather was sunny in Dover and cloudy in Canterbury.
Lunch was not included, we had something quickly while visiting.
The guide and the driver were very nice and polite. The guide joined and left us in Dover.
The entraces to Dover Castle and Canterbury Cathedral were included in the price of the trip.
All in all, it was a great day trip, and I would strongly recommend it to anyone interested in these locations.

The tour started late but it was due to heavy traffic and did not affect the time we were given at both sites.. Once started all went smoothly. The guide was very knowledgeable about Canterbury and Dover Castle. First stop was the Dover Castle, which was my main reason for taking this tour. Great history there and enough time to see everything. Next we visited the White Cliffs of Dover and was able to take some spectacular pictures. We were given plenty of time to explore the Cathedral and the city of Canterbury. Great trip and highly recommended.
Excellent tour overall ....... Brendan and Manon were top notch. Manon was very knowledgeable of both Canterbury and Dover as well as having a great sense of humour. Well worth the money.
Multiple pick up points, and friendly and informative guide, Manon. Could have used more time to visit Canterbury proper, but knew the times going in. Very windy at the cliffs, so you may need a jacket. Dover Castle is huge so there will be quite a bit of walking. The cathedral is amazing and there is more of it than meets the eye when you first enter, not to mention the surrounding grounds.
Fantastic day trip on small bus tour, our guide was Ian who knew his history very well and brought a lot of fun to our little band of travelers. I especially recommend this tour to Canterbury and Dover Castle.
Extra bonus at Dover Castle, as we were there on ST. George's day, lots of activity going on with celebrations. The tour group was a great size. Comfortable transport and guide very knowledgeable.
Free time in Cantebury eas great.
Good day out. Bonus at Dover Castle with St. George day celebrations with displays and activities. Guide very knowledgeable and approachable. Transport was comfortable. Good size group.
Excellent tour,,we got lucky with the weather..would recommend to everyone,,,it was nice to leave London city for the day and see a different side of England.
I enjoyed the friendly tour guide Catea and our driver Brandon who gave us all kinds of additional information about what we saw on route and about the sights we visited. Dover Castle, the Cliffs and Canterbury Cathedral were exceptional. I also loved the inside and outside activities which were part of the tour. Well done!
It was a beautiful trip! Loved the history and the scenery. Wish we had had more time at each place. Our tour guide was very nice and knowledgeable. I wish we had had the option through Viator to select our pick up location, it was automatically assigned when we bought through viator and then we had to jump through a lot of hoops to figure out how to get them to pick us up in a different location because of the confusion. Make sure you are on top of that if you buy here online.
Overall a very nice day, but would have been nice to have a little more time at both the castle and the cliffs of Dover. The town of Canterbury was charming and we found a great little cafe to eat lunch at on our own. Definitely an excursion worth doing.
This was a fun all-day trip but it did not start super early this is a smaller tour. No tour guide just a driver leaving London until Canterbury. Here a guide joined, but she did not really add anything. No real commentary other than to tell us where to go and what time to get back. Canterbury Cathedral was fantastic and we enjoyed it a lot. It was Sunday so the Quire was closed, but we did go back just before the bus left and glad we did. Went to the gates and walked the gardens along the river. Very nice take a coffee or tea and snack to enjoy as there are benches all along. Dover Cliffs were amazing and we were lucky enough to see France. The Castle at Dover is worth the visit and in very good condition with nice exhibits within. There are several side tours, a medieval castle tour, a hospital tunnel tour and a WWII tunnel tour. There is also a tram to help you get from place to place if you need it. We went on the hospital tunnel tour and it was only about 30 minutes long and glad we did. Interesting story and something we did not know about. Back to London in time for dinner. I would check this out to make sure there would be a guide who would be providing commentary. I know we missed things about Canterbury and Dover and its place during WWI and WWII by not having a true tour guide.
Good tour, flexible pickup. Guide was good. Downside was the driver managed to get the bus hopelessly stuck in a labyrinth of closed streets upon return to London, forcing us to get off in a random, rough part of town and walk to a tube. Drunk people in the street fighting at night, a little scary.
The tour and the guide was great but this tour picks up at several locations vs a single location at a central tube stop, requiring a lot of time in gathering people or dropping people off vs. being on the tour

Our guide was very enthusiastic about Canterbury and Dover Castle and had a lot of good information about both sites. I wish she would have included a little more guidance on how to best spend our time at each location and when and where to grab lunch. Other than that, fantastic day tour from london!
Great tour, one problem was tour guide was terrible. Not helpful and was walking so fast lots of older people like myself not able to keep up
Took this tour yesterday, principally to see the White Cliffs, but the highlight was definitely Canterbury and Dover Castle. Full day tour as we got back to London at 7pm although there was a patch of bad traffic. Highly recommend Christina the tour guide had a very positive attitude to her job and was very knowledgeable. Worth noting that while there are multiple pickup points - only 1 drop off point London Bridge Tube station
The trip was very nice. Would have liked to know how physically demanding the White Cliffs of Dover and Dover Castle were but I managed during the trip. Also wish we had more time in Dover Castle as it has so much to offer. Maybe less time is needed in Canterbury to offset that. Overall I would recommend this tour.
Was really just transport to Canterbury and Dover and castle. It was good and efficient transport. They are both worth visiting. The guide really provided little information although she was very nice.
Bus was 15mins late. Bus went to the wrong place to pick up the Tour Guide in Canterbury. Tour Guide was very hard to understand and expected everyone to know the history of the area.
