This was the worst value ever! The tour guide showed up 30 minutes late at the train station - and then took 3 minutes to advise how to get to Brussels and change trains and offered no other help. We were charged over 200 US dollars a piece and found out the train ticket was only 38 euros and the hop on hop off bus tour was only 25 Euros. When trying to voice my feedback - found out - can't get feedback to Viator. I use Viator all the time for my international travel and was very disappointed with this one. Complete rip off. Can't even give one STAR.
If you tell people to be at a place at a certain time as a tour company you need to be on time. The gentleman that met us at the train station was 20 minutes late, did not apologize and was not very informative. I understand that I booked an independent tour but all he did was hand me and envelope and tell me to get on the train. As a stranger in a strange country he needs to be a little more informative and friendly.
After meeting the tour representative at the train station, we were on our own boarding the train and having to change trains in Brussels to a commuter train. Once in Brussells we had to find our own way to the hop on/off bus. It was fairly easy to find, having been not far from the entrance.
There were two different routes for the bus tour with a total of 22 different stops. Depending on your interests there is a lot to see. We got lucky and found one of the touristy areas near the last few hours of the tour. The train to London didn't depart until around 6 or so at night, but the last hop on/off bus tour was at 4. If you missed the bus to take you back to the train station, you would have been on your own.
If you want an introductory tour to Brussells, I'd recommend this tour.
Brussels is beautiful! However, the tour representative was absolutely unhelpful and uninterested! Met her at St. Pancras and asked if we needed to cut the trip short and return earlier on the train, would that be possible. She told us to ring the emergency number that was provided, if we needed to my husband tires easily after his medical event last year and arrange an earlier train. We did ring and the number had been disconnected! We did return earlier to London, but had to pay 462 Euros to do so. Very disappointed with Viator as we have used them for many years and always been extremely happy!
I am only giving this one star as I had no choice if I wanted this review posted!
It was a nice experience on the Eurostar. However, I think you can book the same trip for a cheaper rate. Everyone on the London side was friendly, however, the bus drivers in Brussels were rude. We also went during a heat wave so that could have been an issue.
This trip is amazing. It's great and highly recommended. Altho it was only for a day and a few hours, the experience of the Eurorail is so exciting, besides telling us strong points of interest in Brussels. The guide is an expert making our trip to Belgium memorable in every aspect of time we were in the place.
