Beat the throngs on this VIP, early-access Tower of London tour
Explore the highlights of this UNESCO World Heritage Site
Enjoy the rare opportunity to see the famed Crown Jewels without crowds
Attend the Tower of London’s traditional opening ceremony
Your tour starts with skip the line, early entrance into Tower where, standing inside the Traitor’s Gate with a small group of fellow visitors, you’ll you’ll watch an ancient military ceremony that officially opens the tower every day.
Your guide will meet you back out in the courtyard and then lead you on a full tour of the Tower of London. Start with the site where many a royal head was removed on the old execution block and learn the poignant stories behind the deaths of people like Anne Boleyn and Sir Walter Raleigh. Then head up to the Bloody Tower to see where Sir Walter Spent 13 years of his life and down into the basements where enemies of the crown were tortured in a dungeon that contains examples of actual medieval torture devices.
After a walk along the walls, which includes a peek inside the restored bedroom of Edward the Confessor (a must for medieval history enthusiasts), a chance to meet the Tower’s resident ravens and get an archers’ eye view out over the old moat, you step into the castle keep, or White Tower, for a full tour of a wonderfully-preserved Norman castle. The inside is full of Swords, armor, and royal regalia so as you visit each room, your guide will take you back in time to when England was still ruled by kings and queens. Some of it is pretty romantic, but you may be surprised how difficult and brutal life was.
The guided portion of your experience ends in the White Tower, but we’ll give you time at the end to see some of the areas we didn’t visit, like the Beauchamp Tower and the Fusiliers Museum
This is the most exclusive way to see the very best parts of the Tower of London with an expert guide. Given that lines into the Jewel House can run for an hour or more on busy days, having them all to yourself is one of the most spectacular experiences in London.
After a quick introduction from the Yeoman Warders who guard the palace, you’ll stroll straight into the Jewel House and be among the first people to see the Crown Jewels. There are no crowds, so after you guide tells you what to look out for, you can take your time and soak in one of the most dazzling collections of riches in the world.
This was a great tour! Our guide was very knowledgeable. It's worth doing the early access so that you can see the opening ceremony as well as seeing the jewels before the crowds get there. Since you're not allowed to take photographs in the Crown Jewel area, it's nice to be able take your time and look closely. By the time we left, the lines to get in were already across the courtyard.
We are delighted that you enjoyed your special, early-access tour of the Tower of London, savoring your time with the Crown Jewels. Thank you for taking a moment to review your experience with us; we appreciate your patronage!
It's an early start to the day, but let's you get though everything before the Tower gets too crowded. Our tour guide was funny, informative, and knowledgeable. We were also given enough time to wander on our own throughout the tour so you never feel like you missed something. If you're a fan of history or even just have a passing interest, I highly suggest this tour.
Thank you for your recommendation! We couldn't agree more, this tour is excellent for any lover of history or those who want to explore a piece of it. We're glad that you enjoyed it and hope the rest of your visit to London was a good one!
My adult daughter and I saved this tour for our last day in London. We had beautiful weather until this day but didn't let it stop us. This is an amazing opportunity to watch the Yeoman key ceremony open the Tower of London and see the Crown Jewels long before the general public. There are only a couple tour companies that get this option and our group had two guides and we split the group 10 and 12. It is truly a world far from what we live and history that shouldn't be missed.
Despite the early meeting time (8:15am) after a long international flight, I am so glad I did it. Gina was a wonderful guide, explaining the history behind the Beefeaters and the opening ceremony, and sharing some details about the Tower itself that we would never get from a simple guidebook. I expected that seeing the crown jewels would be the tour highlight, but there was so much more to see and experience besides the jewels.Little tidbits of information keep popping into my mind at the strangest times -- and I smile at every remembrance! A definite DO in London.
We had a great time at the Tower of London. Liz was friendly and very informative. The only reason I did not rate this as "Excellent" was because the sound system didn't always work and we missed information. It might have been better if there were smaller groups so a sound system isn't needed.
Hi doesfamilyfun2019, We appreciate you taking the time to give us your feedback! We are so glad to hear that you enjoyed your time with Liz, though we are sorry to hear that your headsets weren't sounding clearly. We will take this detail into consideration as we enter our next planning period. Thank you so much, Best Regards, The Walks Team
What a great tour! Our guide Vivian was incredibly knowledgeable and so lovely. This tour was amazing, I loved the before hours start which allowed us to see the Crown Jewels before the crowds arrived.
