We did this tour with 2 couples. On the way to the cathedral the driver was pre-occuppied with the radio or Nav and wandering all over the road. Going to Dover the half hour drive turned into 1.15 as the driver got lost. Passengers were videoing the driving it was that bad.
This is little more than transportation to Leeds Castle, Canterbury and the cliffs of Dover. Keep in mind you need to pay for the admissions at Leeds and Canterbury Cathedral, which will add another £32 pounds to the trip. Got about 2 hours in Canterbury and Leeds, and hour in Dover. The cliffs were nice, just be prepared for moderate hiking along the cliffs to get the good views. Leeds was pretty nice, the grounds are beautiful. Canterbury Cathedral is very old and a lot is under construction right now, but the town is cute and lots of places to eat.
The locations for this tour were great, however our tour guide/driver on the way there very distracted with the radio and navigation and constantly drifting out of his lane. We also got lost from Canterbury Cathedral to Dover, a half hour drive became 1hr 15 min. Overall it would have been better with a good driver.
Our guide with England Experience Tours was Paul and he was amazing! Our day tour to Canterbury, Leeds and Dover was so fantastic! It was a small tour with only 16 people which was perfect and more personal. There was no waiting around for 50 other people. We just hopped on and off the bus with our fearless leader Paul! He was so knowledgeable and made our trip perfect! We had enough time in each location to explore and relax. We highly recommend this tour!
This trip exceeded all expectations. The sites were breathtaking! Our driver and guide were a perfect pair, very informative, and made the experience absolutely perfect. I’d highly recommend this trip to everyone!
This was a great tour. Talk to the docents at Leeds ccastle. They will give you so much information to enhance your experience. It is Lovely and would love to go back and golf on the grounds. Make sure to visit some of the shops in Canterbury. I bought fascinators for my nieces at a great price. the Canterbury Cathedral is awsome. Liked it better than Westminster. Thought it was more spieitual. Will come back for a longer visit. Dover cliffs was also enjoyable. Need to come back and explore. The tour guide was excellent. Definitely recommend them for their tours.
The above trip I went on with my 3 kids and paid the pricely sum of £290 for what I thought would be a great trip, it worked out to be the most expensive taxi service i ever went on. I was told we would have WI_FI but what they forgot to mention you got to pay for that/// ridiculous when other coach companies do it for nothing, also we were told we would have a tour guide we didn't have one. The mini bus we travelled on had no toilet, no cold water and i was also told that would be provided it wasn't. Canterbury Cathedral we did not see as they wanted to charge an extortionate amount of money to enter it. Dover cliffs we spent approx 1 hour which was barely not enough time to see the sea not to mind anything else. Leeds castle although beautiful was the most expensive day I have ever encountered I had to pay almost £80 to enter it and then it was just more and more expense after that. Overall what I paid for is not what i got and I am totally disgusted with this trip as the last one I had in January was very good. Total waste of money all I got was a mini bus ride nothing more and a driver who was so boring I almost fell asleep during his announcements. Overall this is not worth the money I paid for it, too much walking, too much money and didn't get what I was told I would get. Never again avoid this trip and make your own way there it would be the best decision you will ever make and save you a fortune whilst doing so.
Our tour guides Aileen & Kevin we're great! They were very kind, informative and made the day run smoothly. Aileen was thoughtful in her approach with all the guests and made us feel comfortable. Her stories we're fun to listen to and full of history, that even my little sister enjoyed. We're glad we took this tour!! It was awesome.
Each location we visited had it's own charm and beauty. Leeds castle was gorgeous & very family friendly (their was an Easter event at the time). The cliffs of Dover we're breathtaking and definitely need another visit along the shore or full day of possible. Canterbury was the perfect ending since there are lots of shops and food in the area along with a towney feel & interesting history.
Overall, this day trip was definitely worth it!
Lots of things to see and do.
But be aware that traffic may be an issue- but that's London.
Aileen you rock!!! 😁
Booked this based on the excellent reviews and was not disappointed. The day started with us not finding the departure site by the time the tour was set to leave. Fortunately, our guide and driver, Scott, determined where we were enroute and picked us there. This was great service since we were already ten minutes late. Scott, by the way, is a blast. Funny, but very knowledgeable about the areas we visited. Our group included two adults and four teens. Other members of the tour group included a married couple and two other young couples. Scott kept everyone entertained throughout the trip. One great benefit of this minibus tour was that Scott asked about our interests and accommodated the needs of the small group. A few highlights were lunch in a 500 yr-old pub, Canterbury Cathedral's choir practice during our visit and the excellent weather viewing the white cliffs of Dover. Tour was excellent throughout. If you ever read this review, thanks, Scott and England Experiences.
