Departure Time

2:00 PM
Travel independently to the Handel and Hendrix Museum, arriving before your 11:30am tour departure. Meet your guide, and learn about the Handel House, where baroque composer George Frideric Handel lived from 1723 until his death in 1759.
Then, climb the 250-year-old staircase to the restored rooms of his home. Musicians often play harpsichords in the house to add extra atmosphere to your visit.
See where Handel composed, rehearsed, and conversed with his musical contemporaries. Learn how he penned his best-known work, Messiah, here and threatened to throw a star soprano from the window when she refused to sing one of his arias.
Then, wander around Handel's dressing room, and the beautiful bedroom where he died, aged 74.
Next, head for the next-door flat where Jimi Hendrix lived from 1968 to 1969. Hear about swinging 1960s London, and how Hendrix, one of the world’s greatest guitarists, described the flat as the first place he’d called home.
See the main room, recreated to how Jimi had it, and learn how he lived and played here, plus other fascinating facts.
After your 60-minute tour, perhaps browse the museum shop for souvenirs (own expense). Your experience ends when you leave the museum.
