Loved everything about it. Adequate time was allotted for each stop. Bus was clean and comfortable. The driver was friendly and competent, and the tour guide, Monica, was delightful. Would highly recommend this Dover trip. I have been before but well before the Battle of Britain Memorial was added. That experience was amazing and humbling.
Extremely interesting our tour guide was most know, edgable and helpful.
Excellent guide Debra and a nice tour. Leeds is great to see and go through, the Dover experience is greatly enhanced by being at the Battle of Britain Memorial, which is excellent. Canterbury is one of the few where picture taking is allowed, and Debra did a great job guiding us throughout!
Great day guide excellent, all went to plan, coach good, would recommend Evan Evans for the coach and Monica as guide. Will do more another time with Viator, many thanks.
Monica lead a great full day tour with detailed knowledge of each sight. She was bubbly and engaging. She suggested a great stop for lunch in Canterbury. An excellent day overall.
Excellent day out! Great locations and well organized itinerary--you get a lot out of the day, with very little dead time on the bus. The guide Debra was excellent and had lots of information for us about the history of Kent and the various sites we went to. She also had good tips for where to eat at each spot and how to get the most out of each site. My only complaint is that the departure was very disorganized. Evan Evans has about 10 tours leaving at the same time from Victoria Coach station, all through about 2 or 3 cramped gates. They kept switching gates on people and there was no PA system to tell people where to go or what was boarding next. It meant we all stood in a big, cramped lump pushing forward to hear what the guide at the door was shouting and then pushing back when it wasn't our turn. Meanwhile, half of regular London is just trying to get on their regular commuter busses and tromping past confused, cramped tourists. Debra's calm demeanour and well organized itinerary saved the day but Evan Evans needs to do better with its first impression! As an aside, Leeds Castle is amazing and well set up for families. If you have a bit more time, or are thinking about doing a country day out of London, consider staying over night or spending an entire day there--lots to do and many of the visitors were Britons themselves so it's a chance to interact with locals more than you do at most tourist sites where you really only talk to other tourists.
Fantastic guide, comfortable bus, memorable day trip from London. Highly recommend.
This was a great trip! I have always done my own thing, but to be able to see three different attractions in one day, we decided to do a tour. Leeds Castle is technically a castle, however if you have been to others, this one may disappoint. It was really more of a manor house. It's beautiful, but I do not feel the need to go back and could have used that time in Canterbury. The tour ran with military precision an our guide was so nice and knowledgeable. We had such good weather we were able to see the Cliffs from the top and bottom and had time to stop for photos. The Cathedral was amazing and we could have used more time in the town. But there are only so many hours in the day and we used every one! This trip will not disapoint.
This was a great trip!! We covered a lot of ground in one day. Monica, our tour guide, was impressive! She filled the driving time with an impressive array of facts and figures about each locale, so the trip was much more than the featured attractions. Monica is a marvelous storyteller, delivering the narration with a energy and enthusiasm that really brought each era and location to life. The travel time flew, and we were well prepped for the attractions. The driver, Paul, found the most efficient route as we headed back to London facing Friday evening traffic. This was an engaging and informative experience. I have taken a number of tours, and rate Monica as one of the best guides I've had!! She even facilitated getting a sweater back for me that I had left in the Canterbury restaurant! Above and beyond!!
I wavered between this tour and the Stonehenge tour. So glad I picked this one. Loved seeing Leeds Castle. We had plenty of time to wander through the castle and take pictures of the beautiful landscape. The White Cliffs of Dover, though very simple, was a favorite stop. Thank goodness we were taken to the top and were able to stop at the historic site. This should always be included as part of the stop. The view was spectacular and memorable. Thank you to our tour guide for choosing to make this stop. Then on to Canterbury. The church was beautiful. Could have used more time in Canterbury, though would not want to have missed out on the Dover stop. We did use the hotel pick up, though think maybe would have been better off getting to Victoria Station ourselves might have been better. We were late getting to the Station and barely had time to make a bathroom stop before the bus was leaving. Felt rushed though not our fault.
Delightful Castle and grounds. Tour guide was great! Canterbury Cathedral awesome!
Perfect length of the trip. Very knowledgeable tour guide. We had the right amount of time to explore each area.
Super tour! Great day to be out of the city and enjoy some nice nature and old buildings. The flower gardens at leeds castle and the beach at the cliffs are a must see!
We loved it. Usually I avoid tours, but this time We enjoyed every experience. AAA
Fantastic experience! Great guide and driver. It's a long day and my only complaint is that there was no bathroom on the bus! That needs to change.
Lovely tour! Gorgeous castle and grounds and there was enough time to explore. Canterbury was amazing and wonderful. We had a nice lunch, again, with plenty of time. I cannot say enough good things about our guide. She was delightful, knowledgeable, and was all-around wonderful. Cliffs of Dover were a sight to behold and we got to spend some time on the beach and stopped for a photo opp. of the castle. The bus and driver were great. All went so smoothly. Excellent tour!!
Very nice tour. Lovely castle and grounds. Just the right amount of time to see everything.
We had a wonderful guide on this tour- Debra. She was the best guide we had on all of our many excursions. She was both informative and funny. Leeds Castle was a bit crowded. They make you wait in a line before entering- but that turned out to be a good thing because it staggered the crowds to make the actual viewing of the castle a better experience. We had plenty of time here. The Cliffs of Dover were also quite nice- we probably could have used a bit more time here, although it was still enough to get a picture. Our guide arranged for us to have lunch in Canterbury and our group was the only one there when we toured the cathedral. The cathedral was quite nice and we were given a lot of access to its different parts. This was a great tour.
One of my favorite tours ever! Well organized and guide was knowledgeable. Although he rambled on about many things, we didn't seem to mind him because his voice gave us a warm, cozy feeling.
Good trip...GREAT guide. We not only had a wonderful tour of each place, but she told us about so much on the way and through London. I also liked how she looked at each place each individual was staying in London and told us the best way to get to our hotel and then dropped us off there.
This was a great, relaxed tour. You are able to spend plenty of time in each place, since they and #39;re pretty close together, and our amazing tour guide even arranged for a stop in a great restaurant for lunch in Canterbury.
