What To Expect

Select your preferred departure time, and join up with your air-conditioned coach in central London. Then, sit back and relax as you set off on your approximately 2-hour drive to Stonehenge.

Rising from vast Salisbury Plain, this spectacular ancient monument dates back some 4,500 years. Listed as a UNESCO World Heritage site in 1986, it centers on a ring of giant standing stones and is generally believed to have served as a prehistoric temple that marked out the movements of the sun, although its purpose is still wreathed in conjecture.

On arrival at Stonehenge, collect your included entrance tickets and audio-guide, and enjoy ample free time to explore the Stonehenge site and visitor center, whose facilities include exhibitions and a café, as you wish.

Perhaps ride the visitor shuttle or follow walkways to the monument to view it close up. Marvel at this prehistoric masterpiece, and meander around the perimeter as you ponder how the stones were transported here, and then raised and used.

Stroll around the visitor center to learn how and why Stonehenge was built through the cutting-edge audiovisuals and stunning collections of ancient exhibits, including stone axes and burial treasures. Be sure, too, to view the replica Neolithic houses to discover how the Neolithic peoples of the area lived and worked.

After nearly two hours of exploring, reconvene with your coach and relax on your ride back to London. Your trip then ends with a drop-off at the original starting point.

Tour guide was amazing!
Beverly_J, Feb 2023
Our driver and guide was very entertaining and helpful. He told us about sites on our way out of London and drove to the area surrounding Stonehenge. When back in London he told us about sites we should see while there.

Bus driver drove a bit aggressively and barely said a word. Would have been nicer if someone on bus had spoken about Stonehenge en route.
Weather is not important when you’re a Druid.
Vladimir_S, Jan 2023
This was one of the most memorable days during the travel to London! Everyone was excited to see the Stonehenge and learn more about its history. Despite less-than perfect weather, the sun rose up the moment we stepped near the ancient stones. Learning about the druids was the most interesting part especially. Our guide during the travel was very entertaining and told us more about history of London. A wonderful journey, really.

The agent provided a coach and a driver. The driver did his job dutifully, he drove only. Even the audio guide was downloaded from the centre.
Wi-Fi and food not provided

The journey and driving was good, but while booking the tickets, Wi-Fi and food were promised but we’re not offered during the journey

Great quick trip
PAUL_A, Dec 2022
Great quick trip. Dont expect any guide or anything. Its just a bus that will drop you off and pickup back if you dont care about local town tours and want to save time. You have approx 2 hours at the stonehenge. The bus is pretty normal bus and seats and fairly comfortable. All in all great.

Long travel but the stones were worth it
Kathryn_R, Dec 2022
This was a good transfer but from central London the traffic is bad and the travel time took around 5 hours. Only limited time to see the stones and big lines for the transfer so we just walked there from the visitor centre. No time to eat or get lunch so take snacks. Stonehenge itself is well worth the effort but be prepared for limited time there to squeeze into one day.

It got us there & back…
Lisa_B, Dec 2022
There was a young woman who checked us in but certainly not engaging in any way. No one introduced themselves or spoke to the group until the bus started up. Then the driver spoke; gave basic instructions like “we’re heading to Stonehenge and should return to London by 5:45”. After that, the entire drive was silent. ****There’s a bathroom on the bus but be warned!**** The light doesn’t work so it s pitch black, there’s NO running water, no hand soap or paper towels. So gross that the ‘host’ didn’t bother to check for basic sanitary needs prior to a 6 hour round trip for 60ish people. I’m certain there is a better option than this tour. Seats are small & tight. I’m a smaller person and felt squished. Stonehenge itself is amazing. Here is some USEFUL ADVICE for once you exit the bus, which would’ve been SO great to know. Our driver just told us to meet back in 2 hours. You’re going to see a VERY LONG LINE that wraps around the building. That line is for folks waiting to board a shuttle drive to Stonehenge. If you can walk or don’t mind walking a nice 10 minute walk (which is nice after 2 hours of sitting), you can walk around the line where there is a walking path to Stonehenge. Otherwise you’ll wait up to an hour or more in that line. You can also pass that line and enter the one of 3 shops (souvenir, exhibit and cafe shops). The cafe sells pastys, chips, baked goods, soups, hot and cold drinks. It’s very crowded in the cafe.. Stonehenge is a remarkable place worth visiting. I’d just suggest seeking a higher quality tour. Or bring your own soap & wipes.

Nothing exciting - just an expensive bus - no guide or chat on ride. No audio/visual on bus. Recommend do it yourself
Welcoming ambience

Nice trip
Lea_B, Dec 2022
Well done. It’s a long trip, but taking the coach is relaxing. Late November, not too crowded, but chilly.
Ian_R, Nov 2022
Overall a great trip & reasonable price if you just want to see the stones for a couple hours & head back to london!
JOHN_J, Nov 2022
I thought that they were very unique to see in person. I also feel you need to make the judgment yourself..

A very enjoyable experience (except for the cold weather in the English countryside, but that's not the travel company's fault). The chatted on the microphone until we reached the outskirts of London pointing out things of interest. He was informative and entertaining
Mystical Stonehenge

First trip to Stonehenge & it was most memorable! Bus trip good & adventure a great success. Enjoyed exploring the stones, huts & exhibition.
Words fail me - so fabulous
Anuradha_K, Nov 2022
It is the most fabulous trip anyone can take - a must if you visit UK. Just a beautiful place of prehistoric significance, wonderfully restored and brought to life by an entrance exhibition (and not your boring usual exhibitions - it can wow you). The trip is well organised. U get picked up at a really comfortable time (I took the 10:30am tour). And then it is a really pleasant drive to the site. then you have a leisurely 3 hours to explore the place and the ticket includes admission and transport inside to the stones. A beautiful cafe and eatery inside, you needn't really pack anything before. and the bus drops you right back to victoria station. A wonderful dreamlike excursion - unforgettable. I don't like those 3-4 places combined tours - they are a bit stressful and you don't get to see and enjoy any place at leisure. This on the other hand is just fantabulous - immemorable experience.
Great trip! (No free WiFi!)
Martin_K, Nov 2022
We had a great time at Stonehenge. The driver was mostly quiet during our ride but shared some fun stories at the end. There were not a lot of people and enough time to roam the stones. If you plan to walk there from the visitor center, you better hurry 🤣 The only complaint I had was the missing WiFi which was heavily advertised online. Since the audio tour relies on an app with ~70MB dowbload, I had to download via Romaning and paid €€€ for that. 😅

The driver was only "ok"...
Sascha_M, Nov 2022
The driver was only "ok" He didnt tell us anything. Im not a fan of endless talk and onformation, especially not too much information but he should have told us how long the busride would be. He should have told us to look outside the window when we passed Stonehenge before stopping to get the shuttlebus to that sight. We would have been so much more exited and so on. He made it all so "boring".
