This was a fantastic tour !Our guide John was outstanding very informative and friendly .We really enjoyed this tour .Thank You
John was an excellent guide, lots of info and enthusiasm, and we enjoyed it very much. The tour description could use an update, as it appears the pub portion of the trip is no longer on the agenda. No big deal, just a point of refinement
This tour was pretty awesome and our guide Ali really knew his way around Oxford. While we got started a bit later than planned, it went off pretty well. After we got to Oxford, Ali walked us around for hours, stopping at places to point out certain buildings or other stuff. He was informative and funny. He also waited for the whole group to gather before he'd start, which was nice for the slowpokes.
Jake was very good at providing the history and wotkings of Oxford.
Excellent guide, very informative. Well organised trip. Would recommend.
What a great way to see Oxford - made all the more entertaining by our enthusiastic guide, Angus.
Angus was a fabulous guide. Lots of fun and very knowledgeable. Highly recommend!!
Our tour guide Angus was not only a font of knowledge about Oxford and all of England but entertaining as well. He kept things moving at a fast pace so we covered a lot of ground and history. It was a beautiful time of year to see the meadow, Christ Church and all the amazing spires. Great tour.
The trip was terrific. John our guide American John was great- funny, informative and overall a wonderful tour guide. Everything from booking the trip to meeting the guide at the station, taking the train to Oxoford and back made it a very fun day.
This tour of Oxford was awesome. Great commentary and we covered alot of ground. Very well organized. Oxford is definitely worth the visit. A great price considering it includes the train tickets there and back.
Great Tour around Oxford! Our tour guide American John was very knowledgeable and fun!
We met at Paddington Station at the time we were supposed to and train was to leave at 9:15 but we actually didn't get on the train until 9:50 so was just a little disappointed about waiting that long but still plenty of time to tour Oxford. You are given your ticket back to London for the day of the tour. You may take any train back that day enabling you to stay as long as you like in Oxford when the tour commences which was around 2:30. Trains ran every 30 min. back to Paddington. John also gave us useful tips about other places in the UK that we may want to visit while we were on our vacation.
Oxford was amazing. The tour company could have been more punctual; we rushed to arrive on time only to wait for a guide to arrive. However, our guide told wonderful stories, and we enjoyed the lovely gardens and beautiful town.
Our tour guide was amazing! There were a few sites I wish we would have stopped at to take photos, but overall, I learned a lot of Oxford's amazing history!
Despite lots of walking at the Oxford end, this was a most informative tour combined with the relaxation of train travel.
Loved getting the chance to leave the city for a while, but what a surprise to find out this Oxford tour was of the town of Oxford.....not the University! Perhaps I misread the details, but it was not what we expected. Our guide knew a lot, but the facts were given so quickly no one could have absorbed all that information. A disappointment.
This was my sixth Viator tour but was very disappointing. Having previously done the full day Oxford / Cotswalds / Stratford Upon Avon tour a few years ago, I was thoroughly looking forward to sharing this mini version of the tour with my family focusing on Oxford. However, it did not compare at all favorably to the first tour. We found the guide very friendly but not particularly knowledgable. We learnt very little about the university, and many of the landmarks and events he was unsure of. Most of his anecdotes he prefaced with this may not actually be true.
We were fortunate to see a lot of the town, but we focused way too much on shops and cafes and too little on the university.
We were not given the opportunity to have a drink at a pub which wouldn't have mattered had it not been part of the tour description and although it may seem like a strange complaint, our tour actually took a lot longer than we had planned. This was really a full day tour rather than a half day we arrived back in London at 5 which wouldn't have mattered had we not been booked al a show that evening.
Had this been my first Viator experience, I would not be re-using them.

The tour description suggests actually going into the Oxford buildings, Head inside ivy-strewn colleges and explore the lavish libraries, secret passageways and grand halls that have inspired legendary scholars.
We did not do this. The view of the building in the photo was from the ground level, and we did not go inside. We did walk for 4 hours, but it was a disappointing tour. We stood in the rain for hours, listening to the tour guide just talk and talk. He never asked any of us any questions. Pretty sad. The train ride was on time.
