What To Expect

Following pickup from central London, travel out of the English capital and through the countryside along an ancient road that was used by the Romans some 2,000 years ago. Pass ancient burial chambers and a 4,000-year-old pyramid on Silbury Hill, as well as traditional pubs, historical monuments, and the eye-catching White Horse hill carvings.

First, head to the Stone Age structure of Stonehenge and listen to commentary about the 5,000-year-old monolith.

Continue on to Bath and explore its squares, terraces, and crescents. Visit, too, the famous Roman Baths and learn how in the 18th-century Georgian Era, the wealthy, upper-class arrived from London to take advantage of its supposedly healing waters.

Then, enjoy free time for lunch (own expense) before traveling onward to Lacock for a taste of old-world England. Seemingly untouched by modern developments, this charming village has been featured in Cranford, 'Pride and Prejudice,' several of the Harry Potter movies and other films and television series. Follow your guide on a sightseeing tour, and then return to your vehicle for a drive through the Cotswolds hills to Avebury. See a village of thatched cottages in the middle of a huge stone circle before returning to central London.

Firstly, we head to Stonehenge amidst the ancient and historical landscape of Wessex. Here, your guide will enrich you with facts and theories behind this famous Stone Age structure erected in about 3,000 BC. After taking time to explore this impressive and mysterious site, enjoy a relaxing drive onwards to the Georgian city of Bath.

The Roman Baths

Once called Aquae Sulis because of its natural hot springs, the city of Bath dates back more than 2,000 years. Take a guided tour of this elegant city with its squares, crescents and terraces, and learn about the famous Roman Baths. In the 18th-century Georgian Era, the rich and wealthy arrived from London to 'see and be seen' here, and to take advantage of the baths’ hot waters to alleviate their stiff joints.

Tony The Great
Jon_V, May 2022
Our tour guide Tony was amazing. He was informative, funny, accommodating and concerned that everyone got the most out of the experience. He clearly loves his job and his country as it showed throughout our day. When we go back to England, we will definitely request his services again!
Great full day in the country

Bath was amazing, seeing the Roman baths was truly a treat. The true treasures were Lacock and Avebury. Really neat to see the old towns and all their amazing history. Would have liked enough time to have a pint in the pub in Lacock, but it was great nonetheless. Tony had an immense amount of knowledge on the history, the buildings, birds, etc. Great guide/host.
Lovely Day
Floatyfish, Nov 2019
This was a lovely day trip during our trip to the UK. Both our guide and our driver were incredibly friendly and helpful and brought across a great love of the area. Like most tours, we always wish that we had more time at each stop, but it's a lot to pack in to one day! We loved our time in Bath and Stonehenge, but a highlight of the tour was the henge at Avesbury. This was an amazing stop and being able to walk right up to the stones was incredible.

Great Trip
Sheila_K, Jun 2019
This was a great trip. I loved the fact that there were only 16 people, so smaller and more personal. Our drive and guide Jose was exceptional. He was incredibly knowledgeable of everything about the trip. The only thing that wasn't satisfactory was the length of time we had at Lacock. This is one place I really wanted to see and we only had 30 minutes. I think some time could be shaved off Glasgow and added to Lacock to better round out the trip. But overall I was very pleased and would recommend it to my friends.
Ben was knowledgeable and friendly
Heidi_R, Jul 2018
The best parts of the tour were Ben's anecdotal stories along the way about the monarchy and the history of Great Britain that didn't necessarily have directly to do with the tour itself. They added a lot. My only wish is that we would have been able to spend a bit more time at each place - so fascinating and beautiful!

Small group day trip to Stonehenge, Bath & Lacock
Courtney B, Jun 2018
Definitely recommend doing the small group day trip, rather than in a large tour van. We had 12 in our group. The highlight of the trip was Stonehenge - glad we started the day with that stop. Lacock also was a nice stop. Only issue that kept it from being 5 stars was how over-crowded the Roman baths in Bath were. Recommend visiting Bath in a less busy season.

Tony, our driver and guide was a lot of fun. He kept us on schedule, and added a LOT of information of what we were seeing along the way! We had a bit of confusion about exactly where to meet the group but we kept asking till we got it sorted out.

This trip fits a lot into a short period of time. Each segment was worth it though. Fun to spend a bit of time in the tiny village of Lacock, the presentation of the Roman Baths was extremely well done and interesting, and Stonehenge was amazing to see. I'd recommend this tour.

The guide Oz was absolutely great. Cannot imagine ant to be any better! Here was problem. We got to pickup place about ten mi utes early. Found our guide who checked us in and said we could board our van. Van had seats for 19 customers. Only seats left were at last row. Well, these have less leg room than other seats and not much window view. Also, it sat higher than the other rows, affording even less of any window view, I asked our guide if there were seats on the van directly behind us. He said yes but we would have to change our itinerary. Not acceptable. Someone suggested we should have got to pick up point earlier. Two problems there. First, as it was we left our hotel at 7am and really were in no hurry as we had no reason to believe all passengers would not be given suitable seating. Second, if we had been earlier, some other passenger s would be stuck in those seats. No way Viator, the booking company should allow their customers to be seated like this.

Great tour. Bath and Stonehenge are really interesting. Lacock was a cute small village, but couldn't see spending more than the hour that we were there. Guide did an awesome job of telling us the history and various facts along the way.

we enjoyed this day trip very much. It was well-timed and managed. All 3 locations we visited-Lacock, Bath and Stonehenge were each very interesting. Our guide Andrew was full of knowledge and very friendly. The bus was very comfortable. We recommend this tour.

Linda S, Jul 2016
The tour guide Tony was very good as was the venue but the transportation was awful. No air conditioning in van on 95 degree day. It was unbearable and inexcusable for this tour company not to provide these guides with functioning vans. We would not book a tour with this company again.

Disappointed in the tour for the price. I've been to Bath and Stonehenge before, but was hoping to share this tour with family members who had not been. Picked this tour especially because of the Harry Potter connection and the small group experience. Tour guide did the absolute minimum. Spent 20 minutes in Lacock, did not know about the Harry Potter connection and had to read from a guide book another guest purchased in a shop. 1.5 hours in Bath. No commentary on the 2 hr drive back from Stonehenge. Should have taken a regular bus. Very disappointed.

This tour was great and we were glad to have taken it, but it is a little rushed as some of the other reviewers mentioned. It's a lot to do in one day, but worth it in the end.
