What You Can Expect

Stonehenge, Bath and the Cotswolds Fully Guided Day Trip from London

Visit the Beautiful City of Bath

Depart from central London in the early morning aboard a luxury coach, and take in the rolling hills of the English countryside as you travel to Bath, your first stop of the day.

On arrival, plug into your provided headphones, so you can hear your guide’s commentary clearly, and scout out the UNESCO World Heritage–listed city’s top sights on a walking tour. Check off top sights like the Royal Crescent and other striking Georgian crescents and terraces, which inspired Jane Austen’s Northanger Abbey and Persuasion novels. Then, make the most of free time to perhaps visit the Jane Austen Visitor Center or the famous Roman Baths (both at own expense).

Continue to the Cotswolds, an area typified by thatched villages and enchanting parishes. Stop in Lacock and explore the village with your guide before breaking for lunch. You might also recognize locations featured in Pride and Prejudice or the Harry Potter film series.

Your final stop is at Stonehenge, a UNESCO World Heritage–listed stone circle.  Stroll around the prehistoric stones with your guide and visit the visitor center to hear about the theories about how and why it was created. After, your day trip concludes back at the original departure point in central London.

Our family of four enjoyed the day. Bath was surprisingly fun. Lacock was interesting. Lunch was not our favorite but it was ok. Loved Stonehenge.

Great tour. Loved the day especially the Cotswolds. The tour around Bath was wonderful. We opted not to go on the Bath tour since we had been there before so the tur guide took us on a walking tour and explained all the beautiful architecture.

We first went to Bath. Our guide, Tom, told us a little about the history of the town and then offered to take anyone interested in architecture while anyone who wanted could go see the Roman Baths must pay entry fee. We went to the Baths. This was fantastic though we wished we could have done both! We also stopped into the Bath Cathedral.

Then we went to Laycock. Again, Tom took us around the town giving us a wonderful explanation of the history of the town. What made Tom a great guide was that instead of reeling off historical facts, he told stories. His sense of humor was very entertaining and fun! We ate at a pub - good food! The town itself is amazing. So ancient yet still an active town. You have to learn about the honesty boxes and the outdoor boot niches.

Last we went to Stonehenge. Two of us walked up and one took the tram. I was one of the walkers. I wish I had taken the tram instead. True, I got to see Stonehenge kind of rise out of the ground as I approached but it took a while 30-40 min which meant I didnt have the time I wanted up at the Stones. I ran out of time to listen to all of the audio program but, the main reason I wished I had taken the tram was that Tom served as the guide up there and my sister said he did a fantastic job of relating the history of the site and the theories about its purpose. Next time, right?

Overall, we had enough time at each site. Tom provided wonderful commentary on the road but not so much that we got tired of listening. In fact, my sister wants him to come to her house just so she could listen to him talk :-

The coach was very comfortable and our driver got us around nicely.

We loved this trip from the beginning to the end. Robert, our guide, did a great job providing all the backgound for each part of the trip. Each of the 3 stops were unique in their own right and created a diversity of experiences that made the day go quickly. You also had adequate time for each. We loved and were mesmerized by Stonehenge in particular and for Harry Potter fans, Lacock is a fun stop that also allows you to see a town that looked as it did in medieval times. Great day.
